In Tampa

Shontell and I are in Tampa ready for tomorrow concert the VH-1 Pepsi Smash Super bowl Bash. We picked up our passes today and went to the Ford Amphitheater. We are having a great time just being silly doing the girl thing. I was at the pool this morning in a guest was being nosey wanting to know what I was doing. He heard my conversation with first the NBA and then my agent. He could not believe that he was sitting at the pool listening to me talking to the NBA people. He goes you have a dream job. Maybe I do, maybe I should have been enjoying and not working hard right. Was trying to find hair people and makeup for the NBA All Star assignment. Its a rush to get everything done. Well, I need to crash finished with cleaning my kit. I have 2 full makeup kit, my air brush makeup, 2 hair kits and 1 large supply kit. If anything else is needed I doubt I brought everything with me Shontell is here to help out.

BEHIND THE BEAUTY: Dior

If you haven’t heard by now that Christian Dior 2009 Haute Couture spectacle était fe’roce, as Christian Siriano from Project Runway would say…FIERCE. The models, hair, makeup, dresses, backdrops, and music-very couture. I am so ready to see these looks hit the mainstream this fall.

The bar jacket which is my favorite was the item that had all the women buzzing. It is definitely the iconic piece of the collection bringing the waistline back. You will notice that they played with a lot of fabrics like ruffles, a texture that they started out with then silk chiffon. A way the designer likes to bring a sexual undercurrent into their new direction. The collection was not extravagant, but highly sophisticated with intricate details. The jackets that added panels of fabric cascading like a waterfall or the outfits where all volume is carried on the hips, not forgetting the belts, left me speechless. Let me stop blabbing and let you enjoy the show for yourself.

NBA ALL STAR-WEEKEND

Just got off the phone with the NBA, for ALL-STAR's they just wanted to confirm my dates for FEB 12-15th. I have to get a team of makeup artist and hair stylists together again. If I bring a team they would have to pay their own expense they will only take care of mine or I can find a group of people that is closer. Look like I have to go in early if I find a new team to make sure they understand the drill of the different looks etc. So, I will start working on this in tampa.

SuperBowl here I come

Michael and I just picked up Jordan from school. We had to go to a meeting earlier at a school that we are hoping to get him in next year. I must be getting old because I am exhausted from the travel. The part I hate the most about what I do is being in the airport all day just to get home. I have been so out of all day, having a Paris Hilton moment. I also hate hunting down money and I had to deal with that today as well. I was able to meet with Xavier Cabo my web guy today and paid him for January. Lots of calls today. I spoke with Troy, who may book me in Tampa for their 2 day celebrity bash superbowl party. He has 200 girls and 50 of them being main girls that will need makeup.
One of my brides came in to sign her contract and pay her deposit and – spoke with a great young lady today that is based out of ATL about her 0ctober 2009 wedding. I still have not packed my hair and makeup kit I will do that tonight and write three more articles for my beauty page. I can just go on and on. Shontell is still coming with me so this assignment will be fun cuz I will have somebody to go out and party with, take pics for me and etc. When I am by myself it gets lonely you know and the higher profile the client the crazier the rules. I laugh sometimes at the things I have been told. I did a shoot once before for a certain magazine and I received a list of things and the one that got me was standing a few inches from this one client and to not speak with her and don't touch her hair. If you all who is reading this know my personality know if you come at me crazy, I promise when I speak to you I will not speak with a lot of sugar, know that. So, I did just that and she asked me was I ok. I respond am I able to answer your question cuz I am trying to follow the rules you left for me. The client wasn't a celeb she was being honored or something I forget. Anyway, I am excited and hope to get some sleep tonight. Will try to update hopefully the work load is not crazy.

I am leaving out on Tuesday morning to do the 2009 VH-1 Pepsi Smash Superbowl Bash in Tampa Florida. I will be doing makeup on Fall Out Boys, Lifehouse, and some NFL Players. When I get home I have to redo my kit and make sure I have all supplies including hair cuz I will be doing hair as well. I am really excited about this and I have my girl Shontell Taylor coming out with me. When MTV Networks called me around Christmas I was excited about it. We finally have everything confirm all of my security clearance and paperwork is done and ready for me to pick so I can have ALL ACCESS. I have to get Shontell set up when I get home which is shortly. I have been at the airport all day. I am really tired and cranky today. So I need to unpack, wash and repack. But I will need different clothing more party clothes than warm clothing. Ok about to board see you all soon.

Get Your Free Makeup Today

In case you haven’t heard yet…

You can thank the ruling on a class-action lawsuit for what could legitimately be the best thing that’s happened to you all year: Beginning on January 20 and continuing for one week, $175 million worth of free cosmetics will be doled out at beauty counters across the country while supplies last. According to an article in Business Week retail giants like Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s, and Macy’s as well as a handful of designer brands including Lancôme, Chanel, Guerlain, and Estée Lauder broke antitrust laws and conspired to fix prices on a number of their products. To pay back customers who may have been affected by the alleged scheme, which reportedly spans almost ten years from 1994 to 2003, anyone who purchased products from these stores is entitled to receive one free item in reparation. Click here for a full list of participating stores and brands and get ready to get yours on Tuesday morning.

Also, on another note you will now find out beauty industry secret that they never wanted you to know. I get asked all the time “what do I think is the best makeup line”. I always say there the same since they are all sisters owned, the only thing that seperates them is the price so I end up hurt a lot of of women feelings. But, now with this list floatin around you will see for yourself. The women that pay $25.00 for a mascara is actually wearing a $7.00 mascara. This lawsuit could not have happen on a better day. A CHANGE HAS COME

A day that will always be remembered for me. I wasn't able to be in D.C. but I am in Utah watching. And today my heart is in D.C. I have been watching a few times during break and will watch the entire speech in taping on the internet and at home because Michael taped it for me.

So many people speak of race but I think every citizen is responsible for themselves. President Obama can only do so much. This victory and history hopefully wakes up the young African American community especially young black male. Pull up them pants, cut them locks, go get a new wardrobe, get a job, stop putting the blame on everyone else but yourselves. Let this day be a great one without any violence and make a promise to yourself that today you will make a change.
