Hollywood South Tonight…Mahalia Jackson Theater

Today has already been a crazy day. All of my clients today were for the Grand Opening event tonight at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. The second line is at 6:45 pm and the event starts at 7pm.

I needed to go pick up tickets for Brittany she is bringing her friend Joy. Go get hair supplies for tomorrow photo shoot for the Caribbean Posh Magazine at Jerome and Yolanda Holmes Studio in Metairie.

Tonight is Jordan report card/PTA so I had to go to that before going home to get ready for the event. I hurry and jumped in the shower, do makeup & hair and off Michael and I go on our date.

We arrive at 6:48 pm which is perfect because Michael did not want to see the second line. To say he is a local boy he does not like any of the New Orleans culture. This is why I am surprise that he wanted to come out to tonight’s event. All of the music artists are New Orleans finest, I think he wanted to spend time with me because of my upcoming crazy schedule; The Golden Globe, Sundance Film Festival, VH-1 Pepsi Smash Concert for the Superbowl. The crew was there and so many other faces I do not get to see often.

The Mahalia Jackson Theater looked amazing, they did such a great job. The seats that we were given were boxed seats and Brittany seats were in section 6 not to far from us. I told Michael if we come to see any shows or plays here I only want the box seats because you don’t have to deal with people walking in front of you it’s sectioned off but still on the lower level. Thanks guys for the great seats!!!

Let me say I enjoyed myself so much. All of the artists sung 2 songs and Freddy Omar,Jeremy Davenport & Ingrid Lucia, Marva Wright, Irma Thomas, and Kermit Ruffn had me moving in my seats and when Kermit hit the stage the crowd went crazy. It was a great show…and Michael actually enjoyed himself.
