George NYC Royal Wedding Bash

Fun pics from St. George’s Society of New York Royal Wedding Bash of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th at The Edison Ballroom. During the VIP Cocktail and after dinner I was able to do glam makeup on the ladies with bold eyeshadows, and bright lip colors. Some of the ladies wanted me to create Kate Middleton wedding makeup on them. A look that was soft and youthful, Kate signature look.
New York British community welcomed me with open arms into their community. They made me felt as part of their family. A great evening had by all. More pics coming soon from GEORGE NYC.

Bridal Beauty:Go Nude on Your Wedding Day

written by Connecticut and New York Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

This season bold, bright colors are popping up everywhere from eye shadows, lipsticks, nail polishes, clothing, handbags and shoes. Not all brides are fans of color and for these brides – less is always more. Some brides prefer the “barely there” nude makeup. The nude makeup look is a classic one that will never go out of style, but it has been revised. Creating the nude look this season is all about giving the bride an illuminated face. Her skin should look hydrated, natural and fresh. No heavy blush and definitely no heavy contouring. This is a great look for a destination bride because the dewy look always works best at a beach wedding instead of a matte face and lip.

So now you are a glowing bride on your wedding day!

Here are the makeup items I used to create this glamxurious look on my bride Erica.

@cecinewyork ;Yesterday upon arriving back home to New York sitting in my mailbox was lots of amazing goodies. One of my many glamxurious favorites were from a new bestie; CeCi Johnson of CeCi New York. I am so excited about receiving a gift of her fancy box of monogram note card from her luxurious collection. I found the perfect place to put them; on my mirrored vanity. So when I write beautiful love letters to hubby and thank you cards know their of Ceci’s exclusive hand-drawn artwork. Excited about having a box of her fine stationery. Thanks CeCi…I LOVE THEM!!!

A Photo Shoot + New York Bride + Anniversary

A Photo Shoot, A Wedding, and A Wedding Anniversary Celebration…I started the morning by doing makeup for The Medical Spa of Baton Rouge with Dr. Tasha Shamlin & Kenyatta Shamlin located at the Towne Center at Cedar Lodge. The talented & great hairstylist Kenneth Grant and his assistant Veronica worked on the hair.  I was excited to work with photographer Sue Ellen Soto from Sweet Arts Studio again. The doctors wanted to update the website and needed new pics for upcoming ads for the spa & salon. I had the honor of working with them for the Making Beauty Ageless campaign.

After the photo shoot I had to dash to get to the Roosevelt Hotel to get to my Bride Andrea Martinez from New York ready. Andie is one of my glam client, she wanted to definitely wow everyone and that she did. Andie dress was stunning and she has the perfect body to wear it. The first time I met the Martinez family last year we clicked right away. From the time I walked in the room they kept the champagne flowing.
The makeup colors that I selected for Andie were; vanilla, gray, silver, and black eye shadows. I lined her eyes with a black cream eyeliner, added a little bronzer on her eyes and I gave her a full set of individual lashes so she could play up the flirty look. On her cheeks I used 2 shades of blush; coral & pink and on her lips I used a nude lip pencil and filled in her entire lip with it. Then added a pink lipstick with a pale pink lip gloss for the high shine. I also filled in her brows with a taupe brow filler and I selected a tan liquid foundation and set it with a medium dark loose powder. On her sister Michelle, her bridesmaid Katrina and her mom I gave them all smoky eyes with lashes as well.

Michelle & Andie Martinez… 2 beautiful sisters

My last client of the evening was a former bride Erica A. Rachel-Skipworth who was in town for her 1-year anniversary. Erica is such a girlie girl, she really enjoy playing dress up and I enjoy doing her makeup everytime. On Erica I selected makeup colors in the champagne and brown family. I love to play up her butter pecan skin so I always stay away from using bold colors on Erica. Sometimes less is more and on Erica, dark makeup would be to heavy on her delicate features.

New Orleans French Quarter Fest 2011

I had the best time at the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans on Sunday with my family, friends, and clients. I enjoyed the much needed sun on my boogie down brown skin. The winter has been really brutal for me so walking around in 80 degree weather was amazing. I started my morning with fresh sliced mango’s and a bottle of champagne and I lounged around in the bed before getting ready to head downtown.
The French Quarter Festival is like Mardi Gras for me, I see everybody. I enjoy stopping and talking, my kids laugh at me all the time because all of my friends are paparazzi like me so it takes us forever to get to where we need to go. We ended the evening by stopping at pink berry to get our last treat of the evening.

Kate Moss for Dior Addict Iconic Lipstick

words by Connecticut / New York Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
One of my favorite glamxurious commercial since Nicole Kidman’s mini film for Chanel No 5 perfume is the new DIOR Addict ICONIC lipstick. Kate Moss has been a DIOR muse for some time now. Her rock chic elegance and her chameleon like style is the reason why she’s the perfect face for DIOR.
The DIOR mini fashion movie was filmed by Jonas Akerlund on October 1st, the day of the DIOR Spring/Summer 2011 RTW fashion show. David Sims photographed Kate Moss for this campaign and he captured many fabulous shots. The music is by Rock Icon music group DURAN DURAN and the song is called “All You Need Is Now”.
When I watch this film it makes me smile and happy and embrace being a woman. Now this is why I love what I do, an amazing moments that I would love to experience in Paris; makeup, fashion, runway… a GLAM LIFE OF A MAKEUP ARTIST done by DIOR!
To achieve this stunning Kate Moss Glam Icon Look you will need the 3 Dior Addict Style:
