New Nail Art Trend: Swarovski Crystal

written by Connecticut / New York Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
As many of you know I’m a big fan of bling bling, so when I received a tweet from @NadiyahSkyy that her personal nail designer Dream wanted to give me a complimentary nail design set. I was very excited becuase I love swarovski crystals! It was a great treat I didn’t want to waste it. So I made my appointment when I knew I was going to be be back in New Orleans for Essence Music Festival. This morning I went by Dream studio to get my hands glamxurious. What a new nail art trend I’m sure women everywhere will be getting soon. I love my set and happy to be a part of the next big trend.

Destination Wedding Makeup: Have Luminous Lashes on W-Day

written by Connecticut / New York Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

A fun and glamxurious way to bring out the color in your eyes on your wedding day is with L’OREAL Double Extend Illuminator Mascara. This is a nice treat for a day or destination bride who prefers to wear very minimum makeup, leaving her eyes to be the main focus.

There are two very easy steps that any bride can accomplish. First, extend and thicken your lashes with the mascara applicator brush. The black mascara is infused with a hint of color that adds volume and length to your lashes. Two, illuminate your lashes with the sphere tip brush by applying the top base coat that has the lighted reflecting pearls to highlight your eye color. Feel flirty and bat those illuminated lashes knowing everyone will see you as you walk down the aisle.

*BLACK CRYSTAL FOR ALL EYES

MayaWater: Summer Must Have Beauty Item

This summer one of my new must have items that will help me get through this humid weather and blazing heat is my can of MayaWater Facial Mist. Wedding Makeup On A Persian Beauty

My day started with doing makeup on Persian beauty Sarrah Zadeh for her cousin wedding in New Orleans. When I arrived at the hotel she was just getting her hair done. So we chatted while I unpack my makeup. Sarrah had two dresses to wear that evening. One being the royal blue bridesmaids dress and the second was a long fabulous dress from Chloe Dao, from Project Runway Season 2. Because both dresses had the shade of royal blue we decided to go with blue eyeliner. L’OREAL Paris has the HIP Cream eyeliner in Midnight blue that would be prefect for this hot summer day. A touch of bronzer with a soft touch of pink blush and YSL Pure Lipstick No.59 in Melon D’Or. A great color to compliment her skin tone.

New York Bride with a touch of the Indian Culture

You may remember me mentioning meeting with my bride one morning. At her bridal consultation she brought with her a beautiful red & gold headpiece that was going to be the inspiration for the makeup. Quyn wanted to have a little of the Indian culture in her wedding so the headpiece in her sari would be a perfect touch. Since her bridal consultation Quyn visited her favorite bridal jewelry store showroom in New York, Tejani and fell in love with a beautiful necklace. So I tweaked the makeup just a little still keeping her makeup soft and elegant. I decided to play with the silver in her sari using OCC pigment called Iced. I then smoked her eyes out just a little using a taupe eyeshadow. I lined her eyes with L’OREAL HIP Cream Eyeliner in brown and added brown individual lashes from Ardell. On Quyn lips I used SMASHBOX lip enhancing full color in Aura.

Glam Girl: Asia Jones

Friday night I had the pleasure of doing a makeup application with individual lashes on Asia Jones, a surprise treat from her hubby…how sweet! Asia lives in Gonzalez, Louisiana but she planned a photo shoot and to grab cocktails with BFF after she was done. So I had her meet me at Glam Girl Hair Studio, own by New Orleans hairstylist Erin Carter.

What a great time we had, all was needed was cocktails!!!
