If your still a paper magazine reader do the skincare ads really influence you to buy their products, or is it the reviews of the products from bloggers or beauty stores like Sephora?
The day has come, one of the most important days in a bride’s life, is her WEDDING DAY. A topic that will come up throughout the planning by many is TATTOO’S, should it or should it not be covered? Many brides fight with this challenge if they are inked up and or if their wedding party is. Tattoo’s showing at a traditional wedding are sometimes not too popular amongst parents and their friends. With destination weddings and more eclectic weddings, tattoos in the wedding party are a creative way for the bride & groom express themselves.
On your wedding day if it’s a must to cover up your creative personality then here are a few options that have been popular choices amongst brides and their makeup artist.
My personal feeling as a makeup artist that has covered many tattoos’ on brides and their bridesmaids is to let your ink show. I think if you have tattoo’s and you and/or your fiance want your wedding to be about you, then I feel that it’s ok to let them show. Everyone that will attend your wedding has already seen your tattoos and they love you for you. So if they accepted it when they first met you, I feel they will not want to see you hide a part of you. Just know when thinking about getting your first tattoo that somewhere down the line you may be asked to be in a wedding or that you will be a bride one day. So, love your ink and enjoy your day inked up or not.
Spring is finally upon us, well not 100% up here in Connecticut but I’ll take the little spring we are getting. This year I am hoping for a year of great weather which means a normal life and happy days of being pain free. As you know my life is in the control of the weather, food, stress and exhaustion. So, if I don’t want any lupus flare ups beside those 4 key element and the many meds I take I have to watch what I do to my body as well as put on my body. I’m always looking for the next best thing when it comes to natural skin care.
Recently, I chatted with Beauty Expert Ilse from Live Learn Luxe and she shared with me some new natural products to try. As Ilse explained to me it’s not about the words “organic & natural” it’s all about the ingredients found in the products. These words are not friendly to anyone with an auto immune disease; PARABENS, SULFATES, TRICLOSAN, and PHTHALATES. Here are four of Ilse all-star favorite new must have chemical free products I should invest in that would not trigger my lupus.
Ilse is not a medical doctor, she’s a friend who gives me guidance when it comes to my skin care needs. As I spring clean my dressing room I’ll be spring cleaning my shelf of old skincare products and bad skincare products. Once I pick up these items, I will have a review for you once I’m done…hang in there my lupus warriors!
This Easter I kept it very simple. Having older kids, 23 &19 year olds it’s not the same. So I decided to get them lots of snacks, since we all have sweet-tooth in the house. With the extra bags of Zapps chips I thought it would be cute to use as my table setting. Every holiday I come up with a different and creative table setting. The rest of the day was spent eating, resting and watching movies.
When I attended NARS Beauty Hour event I was gifted with a beauty swag bag upon leaving. Let’s take a look to see what’s in my swag bag.
When I received a text last month from the fabulous Lifestyle Blogger Nash of FABULATINA about doing her makeup for her 40th Birthday Bash I was so elated. Whenever Nash call for makeup that means she’s doing something glamxurious.
I met Nash years back when she was with L’OREAL Paris and I was on the L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Team. I would do her makeup in her office before attending any big L’OREAL Paris event.
After leaving L’OREAL Paris and starting FABULATINA, Nash hired me for a fun photo shoot with Theodora & Callum. So, I guess your wondering what makeup did I use on a FABULOUS girl like Nashelly Messina? I made sure I had the best lashes & highlighter! See for yourself.
Many of you know I’m a tough cookie especially when that wrong button is pushed. So it’s probably crazy to hear that I’m afraid of something. Well I am, it’s a ugly little bug (tick) and deer’s. Since moving up here to Connecticut I haven’t had good experience with either of them.Today, in Connecticut the weather is gorgeous and I happen to be off and feeling good to enjoy it. So, I decided to face my fears in go outside in my yard today. I fell in love with my home because of the yard and the lake. But after me and my babies (dogs) got bitten by ticks and getting infected with Lyme disease it’s been hard to come outside during spring and summer time. Both my babies were to old to fight, we lost them both 6 months apart.
I was getting tested regularly now it’s yearly with my next test coming up next month. It’s almost out my body and I pray that next month I hear the words clean build of health from Lyme disease. I’m tough but having Lupus & Lyme disease is hard, I feel like Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie The Revenant getting my ass beat daily by that bear. I just want to have my body back in get back to normal. I have to eventually face my fears in start enjoying my yard again. I let it go by not keeping it up because I really didn’t plan on coming back out here. But I refuse to let a tick scare me off, cuz that sounds crazy, right?
The favorite part of my job is making women happy and feeling good about themselves. Last weekend each girl booked me to give them a glamxurious makeup look for their special events. With each of the girls I gave them all a custom makeup look. Only a few beauty items I duplicated but overall I used different products. Being at Sephora I have so many goodies to choose from that it’s a makeup artist dream job. Here is a list of items that I used, I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things. Hope you see something that you can use for your next glam makeup look.
Yesterday at work the most fabulous packaged arrived to our Sephora store. Inside was a product box with a brand book from Estee Lauder. Estee Edit by Estee Lauder is a new makeup and skincare collection that will be launching in Sephora and on sephora.com March 15th. It is an 82 item collection of mostly makeup with a few skincare items. The hip packaging will be chrome with cobalt spray paint splatter on the outer packaging for this collection only as Estee Lauder is not veering away from it’s signature blue.
