Today’s wedding vow renewal in Litchfield, Connecticut was one that I was so elated about. My bride is a beautiful model from Trinidad and her husband is a firefighter/DJ. The wedding took place at their beautiful home outdoor surrounded by all of their family & friends from the Caribbean.
When Annya sent me the pics of her dress I knew exactly the makeup look I wanted to do on her in the ladies. So I brought so much makeup with me just so I could have everything at my disposable.
I chose to do all of the makeup outdoor because I wanted that natural light. Since Annya was going to be outside 99.9 % of the day I needed that light because this is how everyone will see her. I didn’t want that heavy face that looked only good in pics. I wanted it to be stunning yet effortless.
If you wanted to find all of the girls of course they were hanging with the beautiful bride.
The food was DELICIOUS…4 of these Shandy Carib lager beer had me feeling really good.
The family, only person missing is 4 month old baby London
The best part about living by the lake is it’s so relaxing! Working from home on a beautiful day like today a girl could not ask for anything else. As I’ve gotten older I like my ME TIME, quiet time. I really get a lot of work done when I’m sitting out on the deck. I turn on some ambiance music from the Parisian scene, electric lounge of Hotel Costes since the deck has surround sound speakers out there. I work so much better when I have on music that makes me think.
I don’t want the summer to go away it’s been WONDERFUL this year.
My new makeup tool obsession is from Jane Iredale it’s such an innovative synthetic fiber makeup brush that any girl on the go would love. The Snappy Brush Wand has three interchangeable magnetic brushes to use with eyes & lips. I luv that the brush can fit easily in your handbag and a tiny clutch. It’s so easy, just snap on the brush head you wish to use and switch as needed.
If your a makeup junkie you will be just as obsessed as I am when I first laid eyes on this fab makeup brush.
Good Morning! Started my day off very early in New Milford, CT getting a client makeup ready for her bridal photos. Then rushed home got ready for a lunch meeting. When your passionate about something you can chat for hours. Maghen & I brainstormed talking about our favorite topics, hair & makeup. Can’t wait to share with you what we’re working on. Happy Makeup Monday!
It’s almost about that time again where parents will be putting together care packages for their kids heading out to college. Here are a few items that I thought a girl might need her first week leaving home. All of the items can be found at a Sephora near you.
As one of the most popular makeup trends, long wearing products is still the rage but can make for a challenge at night when your trying to remove your makeup. Waterproof, stay all day, long wearing makeup products can be stubborn. No more wasted makeup wipes and pulling on your eyes and lips trying to get the last of the waterproof high pigmented formula off. I found 6 makeup removers that will gently remove all of it quickly.
Everything I need on my boogie down brown skin to give me a sun kissed summer makeup look. I look so glowy like I been on vacation in the Caribbean soaking up the sun. These products I can use year round when I want to achieve that look.
This look was suppose to be about a Nightime Smokey Eye at Sephora Beauty Class but I wanted Jen to really push the look by giving her a fun lip color. I selected Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Plan 9, a opaque deep sea foam green lipstick. Because, it’s a opaque shade I selected Kat Von D Metal Crush Eye shadow in Iggy, a metallic mermaid green shade. I scraped a little of the shadow out on a cotton round in had Jen use her ring finger to dab the product on the middle part of the lip to get a high pigmented metallic lip. What a rebellious look…
I work hard so I can play hard. It’s really true. All of my makeup artistry experience, 20 plus years I worked my ass off so that I could one day relax at my home. So instead of taking a lot of trips to spend time at a public beach I just grab my bag, a big hat, flip flops, a drink in just walk down to the lake. No driving, right in my backyard I get to enjoy this.
So as I’m sitting here I’m thinking of a master plan to continue Beauty Blueprint & Beauty Happy Hour makeup classes. One class I teach up in coming makeup artists how to work in the beauty industry. My Beauty Happy Hour class is where I teach a group of women how to create a look of their choice. I’m just trying to organize myself in get more visual of both. I want to make sure I’m giving my clients the best info possible.
