We Fancy Huh…Two luxurious spots in Hawaii we can’t wait to revisit
Everyone knows that Hawaii is PARADISE! And while the first hotspot that everyone wants to visit in Oahu is Waikiki, the girls have two other upscale beach life locations that tickle their fancy.
For Aloha Friday we always like to spotlight local businesses in Hawaii that we love to visit. Sometimes, we spotlight places that tourists may not know about and sometimes we will. We’re just two girls from the mainland who is lucky to live in Hawaii.
Alright guys, I have a question for you. Do you just call your friends/associates at anytime on FaceTime or SKYPE?
With majority of the world being LAID OFF or FURLOUGH we’re home and available to talk all day and night. No more excuses of I’M BUSY or I’M WORKING. You can barely get away with I was busy…yeah right, busy wiping down the food you just got from the store. So, friends and associates think it’s ok to just randomly FaceTime since SKYPE and Zoom video conferencing is all the rave.
But, I don’t agree with that. I don’t know if it’s just that I’m old school and we don’t play that but you should never FaceTime a person without giving them heads up. I’m like this with people who just randomly pop up and knocking on my door. I have left many people outside knocking and ringing my bell because they just showed up and then showed up with an entourage, OH HELL NO!!!
I strongly feel the same way with Face timing me. Just because you see my light on in Facebook or Instagram that don’t mean I’m wanna talk or better I want to Facetime with anyone right now.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love my friends and like my associates, but you have to still be respectful. I might not be in a good mood, might be having personal things going on in my home, or better I might be having couple time, shit. Yes, I want to see your faces and I want to love on you but it’s at my TIME!
If you know me, then you know I have a lot of rules. If we are talking on the phone, I want ALL OF YOUR ATTENTION. I don’t want to see your cute kids, your cats or dogs, I don’t want to say Hi to whomever is at your house. Another rule of mine is, don’t you dare call me and then you take your phone with you while you go to the bathroom. Cuz, I’m now hanging up and you’re no longer able to FaceTime with me ever. #PERIOD
The only thing I wanna see in your surroundings is a bottle of bubbly’s that’s it.
So, I would love to know your FaceTime Phone Etiquette.
Because of my health (Lupus, RA, Asthma and Hypertension) I don’t leave the house. I have been in this house now for 45 days and I don’t plan to leave until it’s safe. I don’t even chance walking to the beach, nada. I get my fresh air by having the Lanai doors open while I’m sitting on the living room sofa.
So, when the guys come home they strip in the laundry room, shoes off and clothes in the wash, then they dash off upstairs. And like a crazy woman, I follow wiping down anything that they could have touched along the way. I probably have the cleanest floors in the world because I also wipe them down daily with my LYSOL wipes. I go through these wipes because I’m so afraid of bringing germs in the house.
When they come back from the store, I take one item at at time and I’m wiping down each box, or meat, or bags before it goes in my refrigerator or my kitchen cabinet. Here in Hawaii we bring our own bags so I spray them down with Lysol and let them air dry in the laundry room. Before being quarantine, I kept a container of Lysol in my car, in the kitchen, in the laundry room and each bathroom has a container. I was always a person that was scared of getting any virus, again because of my health, so I’m use to living in a bubble. Now…it’s out of control. I find myself still picking up germs from my family and I have many horrible flare up’s and have been using Albuterol more now since then ever. So, I can never run out of LYSOL, this is why it’s a big deal for me to always have.
What do you get excited about scoring from the store?
She get it from her mama…that’s what they say, right?! Is it ok for preteen girls to get plastic surgery to be like their mothers who have also gotten plastic surgery? Is it ok for mothers to put their insecurities on their daughters? Encouraging their daughters to go under the knife to help enhance their image.
On “Just Girlfriends” video podcast, we talk a lot about TV Personality Kim Zolciak Biermann and her daughters Ariana and Brielle having plastic surgery and looking like there mom.
You might be surprised to hear what the ladies of Just Girlfriends have to say. Chime in and let us know what you think on this topic. We will love to hear from you.
When I’m home watching television I claim one spot in the living room. The left side of the sofa with pillows at least 3-4 pillows and the ottoman so I can put my legs up in just snuggle into my faux throw.
Here in Hawaii I can keep our sliding doors open during and it feels like the room is extended to the Lanai. The fresh air, that breeze, the birds singing and the huge palm trees that I have in the yard always feel like I’m on vacation. So watching TV in this spot is the best. I must be honest. sometimes, I fall asleep 💤 😴
Today on “Just Girlfriends” video podcast we talk about.
Will you bet on yourself and your career, will you focus on being a great wife and a great mom, or can you successfully do both? There is no wrong answer. But, are you living your dream? If not, ask yourself why? Now figure out how to do it. The choice is yours.

Perfect timing just in time for spring…Beginning March 1st, I would like to recycle one of my successful services that I use to offer on the mainland called, “What’s In Your Makeup Bag”. Spring cleaning the house is always something as women we love to do with our home. As a makeup lover, spring cleaning your makeup bag is just as important. For the entire month of March, I would like to offer to the ladies in Hawaii a fun beauty event helping women to update their makeup bag with new spring items from Laura Mercier.
Being the Business Manager for Laura Mercier at Bloomingdale’s in Ala Moana Center, I wanted to do an event for the entire month instead of just 1 day when many women may not be available. I enjoy spending quality time with clients, teaching them how to better use their makeup. So, I decided the entire month of March would be more productive and allow for a more intimate consultation with the luxe products oficonic brand Laura Mercier, the pioneer of giving “Flawless Face”.
The new Spring Collection from Laura Mercier, embraces effortless elegance with “Sunday in Saint-Germain” signified by glowing skin, soft dusted pastel eyes and rich creamy lips. Seductive and full of surprises, “Sunday in Saint Germain” embarks on an optimistic journey in the city of love. Everything you need for a gorgeous Parisian look.
When: The Month of March
Where: Bloomingdale’s Ala Moana Center- Laura Mercier counter
Details: Clients bring in their makeup bag. Together we will go through your makeup bag and help select what go’s and what stay’s. During the makeup lesson/consultation, I will show you makeup techniques and proper usage. We will then develop a day makeup look on you incorporating products from Laura Mercier line. This service will take 1.5 hours so plan accordingly. You will leave with a face chart and a list of the products used to take home to assist you with your new custom makeup look. Refreshments will be served during your consultation.
