As a young girl, we grew up hearing “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.” Well, that something blue will be the new trend in 2016 for brides. Bright, bold cobalt blue will be seen more at weddings in the flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses, the brides’ shoes and even bright bold eye shadows.
At a recent bridal photo shoot I decided to play with NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Giove, a navy blue eye shadow that can be used on the lid for a smokey eye. Remember when wearing a strong eye you should keep the lip color very light so I selected a nude YSL lipstick and a nude Dior lipgloss. Brides your something blue doesn’t have to be hidden anymore, it can now be worn down the aisle.

This Spring shades of Coral lipstick is popping up everywhere and many brides have been walking down the aisle wearing a touch of Coral lip color. Soft petal or bright tangy shades are great for any tropical destination weddings. A Coral lip color will complement any sun-kissed bride if selected correctly. Fair skin to brown skin ladies can all wear the shade of Coral; sheer to vibrant. What’s great about this hue is it can be worn with a neutral eye, bronzed skin or a strong dark eye and contoured cheek.
On Fair skin; sheer Coral with a hint of pink will be perfect.
On Medium skin; a true Coral or Peach color topped with a high gloss.
On Olive skin; deep Coral on a bronzed skin is flawless.
On Dark skin; bold, bright shades would pop, making your lips the main focus.
On the bride I used the following product;
*Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Airbrush Makeup in Blush
*L’OREAL PARIS Hip Cream Eye liner in Black
*L’OREAL PARIS Colour Riche Lipstick in Peach Fuzz
*Victoria’s Secret Lip gloss in Slice of Heaven
No more thinking that Coral lipstick is for your grandmother in Florida. Coral is the new summer pink, so retirees beware.
