A Photo Shoot + New York Bride + Anniversary

A Photo Shoot, A Wedding, and A Wedding Anniversary Celebration…I started the morning by doing makeup for The Medical Spa of Baton Rouge with Dr. Tasha Shamlin & Kenyatta Shamlin located at the Towne Center at Cedar Lodge. The talented & great hairstylist Kenneth Grant and his assistant Veronica worked on the hair.  I was excited to work with photographer Sue Ellen Soto from Sweet Arts Studio again. The doctors wanted to update the website and needed new pics for upcoming ads for the spa & salon. I had the honor of working with them for the Making Beauty Ageless campaign.

After the photo shoot I had to dash to get to the Roosevelt Hotel to get to my Bride Andrea Martinez from New York ready. Andie is one of my glam client, she wanted to definitely wow everyone and that she did. Andie dress was stunning and she has the perfect body to wear it. The first time I met the Martinez family last year we clicked right away. From the time I walked in the room they kept the champagne flowing.
The makeup colors that I selected for Andie were; vanilla, gray, silver, and black eye shadows. I lined her eyes with a black cream eyeliner, added a little bronzer on her eyes and I gave her a full set of individual lashes so she could play up the flirty look. On her cheeks I used 2 shades of blush; coral & pink and on her lips I used a nude lip pencil and filled in her entire lip with it. Then added a pink lipstick with a pale pink lip gloss for the high shine. I also filled in her brows with a taupe brow filler and I selected a tan liquid foundation and set it with a medium dark loose powder. On her sister Michelle, her bridesmaid Katrina and her mom I gave them all smoky eyes with lashes as well.

My last client of the evening was a former bride Erica A. Rachel-Skipworth who was in town for her 1-year anniversary. Erica is such a girlie girl, she really enjoy playing dress up and I enjoy doing her makeup everytime. On Erica I selected makeup colors in the champagne and brown family. I love to play up her butter pecan skin so I always stay away from using bold colors on Erica. Sometimes less is more and on Erica, dark makeup would be to heavy on her delicate features.
