Makeup: Color Correcting And Contouring On Brown Skin Women

I always get asked when I’m at Sephora from boggie down brown skin clients what do I use to achieve a flawless makeup look. Color correcting is a big thing for me when I’m applying makeup on clients and on myself. On deeper skin women I do a lot of color correcting under the eyes and around the lips. It’s ok to use two shades of foundation especially around the hairline or a medium foundation and a darker powder.

Finally makeup brands are hearing brown skin women cry who needs a little color correcting and or contouring kit. At the moment my favorite four items I use daily to achieve an even skin are listed below.  First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy Brighten, Depuff and Smooth in Deep

Behind The Scene Of COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine Photo Shoot For Black Girls Rock

So what goes on behind the scene of a fun COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine photo shoot, well I’m here to share what my day was like.
The treat to working on this assignment was being a part of the photo shoot. Before Asia & Brittany arrived the video crew filmed B-Rolls of me unpacking my makeup kit. Throughout the photo shoot they filmed me doing makeup on the girls giving them fun  beauty tips. After the girls finished shooting with the talented photographer Keith Major I was up to do all of my speaking parts.
So elated that both COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine selected me to be the makeup artist for this assignment. Definitely a dream come true…below you will see all of the COVERGIRL Queen Collection makeup I used on the girls to create their stunning Black Girls Rock ad.
I received COVERGIRL Queen Collection makeup the day before the photo shoot. I’m now obsessed with their Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara.
Started my Saturday morning at 7am enjoying hot chocolate and a chocolate covered cannoli from Ferrara Bakery & Cafe

I Felt Like A Queen At CoverGirl Cosmetics And Ebony Magazine Shoot

It’s always great to get a call about working with a repeat client. Ebony magazine Style Director Marielle Bobo thought of me for this fun assignment with Covergirl cosmetics. Because I haven’t worked with Covergirl but once I didn’t have any Queen Collection makeup. Covergirl PR company sent me a box of goodies so I could be prepared for the assignment. The photoshoot was taking place at Keith Major Studio. Now Keith is a talented photographer that is on my list to one day work with. So when I saw his name on the call sheet I elated. I had 2 talent: Asia from All Things Fabulous 101 and Brittany Branch from Philly. The stylist for the ladies were Nick Nelson, luved the pieces he dressed the ladies in. What I didn’t know was that I was the 3rd talent. They filmed my every moved, I also did B rolls and voice overs. I can’t wait to see the issue I believe it comes out in December.
