I started my day first doing makeup at Donna Karan Fall 2012 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week show at Cedar Lake. I knew that today I had to work fast and watch my time because I had to head over to Keva J swimwear look book shoot. Donna Karan show started at 2pm so I was able to leave at 1pm. The photo shoot was schedule at 2pm so I had to move fast.
Keva will be showcasing at Miami Fashion Week in July so she was doing all her marketing materials for that. I was very excited about working with Keva, we met 3 years ago at Miami Fashion Week and I luved her collections. The gorgeous and humble model that Keva selected was India Christin, I later finds out that she is the daughter of rapper Charli Baltimore. And her photographer of choice was the amazing Whalen Bryce.

VH-1 Divas; Backstage Getting Dancers Glam

http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js _uacct = “UA-3446372-1”; urchinTracker();

After talking with the talented choreographer Fatima Robinson about the makeup look during Mary J Blige and Kelly Clarkson rehearsal. Fatima shared with me what she wanted for the dancers so I knew I had to use products that was going to last the dancers all evening. I prep all their faces with Maya Water and OCC lip balm for their lips. On the eyes I selected L’OREAL Paris new Infallible 24hrs eye shadows. On the lips I used both L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche leGloss in Raspberry Splash  and Stila Cosmetics Lip Enamel lip gloss in Giggle.
Enjoy some of the backstage shots of me getting some of the fabulous female dancers ready. I worked backstage with Celebrity Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist Leo Eley who worked on the hair and we were a great team together. I think my highlight was seeing Denzel Washington and all I can remember hearing his tone not sure what he was saying. My brain completely shut down and Denzel sound like Charlie Brown teacher…womp womp womp womp. Ladies 50 cent was also backstage on stage, he looked very handsome and actually he may have been the only guy that was dressed for the occasion, at least that I saw. Travie McCoy was such a gentlemen when he sit in my chair. Very sweet guy and thinking me with a hug and a kiss on the check, I can’t complain. I did see the handsome makeup artist Sam Fine for 30 seconds backstage. Sorry that I couldn’t have more pics for you but cameras was off limits in 90% of the area backstage and I was super busy running around.

Project Runway Makeup Collection Gets Glam At Central Park

http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js _uacct = “UA-3446372-1”; urchinTracker();

Thursday I was schedule to do makeup applications at BIBI Salon NYC in Harlem. I knew I wanted to use the L’OREAL PARIS & Project Runway exclusive makeup collection. I really love the collection a lot and have been using it on assignments.

One of the ladies Barbara wanted something glamxurious but natural.   I selected something fun and wanted to give her a little pop to the eyes since Barbara was attending Central Park AUTUMN IN THE PARK: An Evening of Cocktails, Dinner, and Dancing.

On Barbara I used from the L’OREAL PARIS USA & Project Runway exclusive collection:

#415 CHARMING COCKATOO’S GAZE eye shadow palette
#225 WATCHFUL OWL’S blush
#785 SULTRY RAVEN’S POUT lipstick

(not from the Project Runway collection)
L’OREAL PARIS COLOUR RICHE leGloss in Nude Touch *the same color I used on Jennifer Aniston for Glamour Magazine “Women of The Year”

So Barbara could touch up her lips I gave her my last L’OREAL PARIS USA leGloss in Nude Touch

Barbara and her husband also made it on Patrick Mc Mullan page that evening…how fabulous is that!!!!

I’m An Addict for Beauty Addicts Cosmetics

I received a few pieces of makeup from @beautyADDICTS today and I can’t wait to play with them tonight and tomorrow. I met Joseph Mastalia, the President of DEPASQUALE Companies last month at this gorgeous Penthouse in New York. He was very impress with my makeup resume and said he would have someone from beautyADDICTS get in touch with me. He was not joking because the next day I received an email about setting up a meeting. Because of my schedule I have been traveling a lot with work that I have not had time to lock something in last month with them. So today I received some samples of the products, I guess so I can get it in my hands.
I already luv the packaging it reminds me of BURBERRY BEAUTY packaging but BURBERRY BEAUTY is much heavier. So tonight, I’ll play with the eyeshadow, blush, and press powder and will use it on Thursday when I go to New Orleans to do the bridal shoot with New Orleans Bride Magazine. But if I really like it then it may not make it into my makeup kit.

My Glamxurious evening with Glamour Magazine 21st #WOTY

As I got myself hair and makeup ready it did not hit me that I was going to be doing makeup in the L’OREAL Paris green room for Glamour magazine “Women Of The Year” event at Carnegie Hall. I knew the event was going to be very spectacular, adorn with many elegant women looking stunning. So I decided to glam up my makeup and selected the L’OREAL Paris Project Runway makeup collection palette. I styled my hair the way Nate Berkus likes it and of course finishing it off with Elnett Satin hairspray. I choose my Swarovski crystals chandelier earrings I knew they would pop against my yummy hot pink lipstick.

As Tiffany and I enter through the stage door we were greeted by the staff at check in. Lorraine Nunez and Alicia Barone from Glamour magazine allowed for a smooth check in by confirming with us on Friday afternoon. We were given 2 assistants (Stephanie & Remi) to help us through out the evening. I always find it very helpful having personal help at large scale events as such. The green room decor was nicely done very comfortable for the talents to sit, mingle, and eat as they wait to go on stage. My first talent was Barbara Walters who wanted me to touch up her hair because it had falling flat. I used my favorite, Elnett Satin hairspray to give her more volume and touched up her lips to give her a little more pop before going on stage. My last talent of the evening was Jennifer Aniston, she was a blast. I think Jennifer was enjoying herself in the L’OREAL Paris green room with Tiffany and I way to much. Jennifer laughs a lot, she’s real,  someone you would call a bestie, and we talked about everything, but I can’t kiss & tell. Tiffany is always amazed how celebs open up to me and tell me things that reporters would die for.  This is why I am now ready for my reality show because sometimes my life seems unreal even to me, lol. Pink Sneakers productions we can talk again if you like, lol.

Our makeup room was a hit with the ladies that stopped by. I think Diana Sawyer may have stopped in the most to see Tiffany for hair, makeup, and even help with her clothes. The room was glamorous and it felt very intimate, the fresh cut flowers gave it a very soft scent that the ladies felt comfortable. With so many great L’OREAL Paris products surrounding them of course they didn’t want to leave and I didn’t want to see them go.
Jennifer luved the leGloss in Nude Touch and True Match blush C7-8 Spiced Plum

This room was filled with stunning celebs like: Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Aniston, Marc Jacobs, Lea Michelle, Emma Stone, Tory Burch, Chelsea Handler, Arianna Huffington, Donatlla Versace, Anita Hill, Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters, and many more…INSIDE THE GLAM LIFE OF A MAKEUP ARTIST

Pre Fashion Night Out with Burberry Beauty

It’s 6am, Rain Rain Rain go away. I started my morning by going to the L’OREAL Paris office on 5th Ave to drop off a makeup kit that I used for a L’OREAL Paris assignment that L’OREAL sponsor. I don’t think the ladies arrived to the office just yet so I didn’t get a chance to see any of them or fairy godmother.

Then I headed over to the Clarins office on Park Ave to do a full day of training with John Trau, Director of Education at Burberry Beauty. 5 talented artists was selected and I am honored to say that I am one of them; a Freelance Burberry Makeup Artist. I am so elated about being a part of the first group of Burberry Makeup Artist here in New York.  Tomorrow Burberry Beauty will launch during Fashion Night Out at Saks Fifth Avenue. A perfect time to introduce such a iconic and luxury brand. May of this year I was thrill when asked to do makeup for The English Ball Honoring Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer at Burberry and faith has it that I am now a part of the brand. I really love the quality of the makeup so perfect the effortless elegant woman. I received my gratis and makeup brushes so I will be wearing the product tomorrow. The brand is building so darker shades and more makeup items will gradually be added to the collection soon. They have many amazing items that I promise you will love. So come see for yourself starting tomorrow.

Heading home to pick up my makeup kit so I can meet Lauren Brenner of Pure Power Boot Camp at her home for 8pm. Tonight I’m doing a consultation for her big day later this month. Then my day will be done.

What a fun filled day of doing makeup. I wish that I had time to work the Donna Karan assignment but the ladies all know how I much I luv them over there. Definitely grateful and blessed for my day.

Burberry Beauty Effortless Makeup Collection

Just recently I had the opportunity to play with Burberry Beauty full cosmetics collection. What a treat that was, Glamxurious! Like any woman, I was drawn to the stunning packaging. I imagined the products sitting on my mirror vanity like a beautifully designed perfume bottle. I really love seeing the Burberry trademarked check pattern etched into the makeup and the cosmetics packaging.
Very soon the elegant women of New York will be able to see for themselves how amazing the Burberry collection and brushes really are. The effortless makeup look that I selected to do that day was a soft beauty day look and Burberry has just the right colors with many to select. After lusting over the packaging, I was very happy to see that this collection lives up to not only the packaging but also my critical makeup standards.

Some of my favorite must have items were:
Burberry Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation $52.00
a sheer lightweight floundation that is easily buildable if more coverage was needed
Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow $29.00
soft classic colors with just enough color for both a day/evening makeup look
Burberry Lip Definer Shaping Pencil $27.00
a sleek thin pencil that is very creamy and gives great color to the lip
Burberry Lipcover Soft Satin Lipstick $30.00
a satin texture that glides on very smooth depositing a beautiful color
Burberry Lip Glow Natural Lipgloss $27.00
a soft texture that gives the right amount of color and shine for the day/evening

So if your a fan of this iconic brand’s trenchcoats, scarves, and handbags, then you can now add the brand’s heritage Burberry tan makeup colors. I’m sure the color Trench will be a popular must have color for many. I’ll see you ladies at Fashion Night Out with more details to come.
