First Day At Sundance Film Festival Was With Robert Redford

My first day of Sundance Film Festival 2013 kicked off with working with the king of Sundance, Robert Redford once again. The day started off getting dropped off to the Egyptian Theater where I will groom Mr. Redford for all of his appearances and interviews that he had lined up. After getting him ready I packed up my hair & makeup kit, then I was brought over to The Sundance House HP where the rest of his press junkets would take place. One of the Entertainment Correspondent was CNN Host Nischelle Turner who I have actually done makeup on in the past. I was so excited to see her and actually so proud of her. We were able to give each other luv for only a few minutes. Such a supported person she shared with Mr. Redford how we met and that I was a great makeup artist. How sweet.

Skin Care: Deep Wrinkles with RoC Retinol Correxion

On Monday I received a PERK from KLOUT Perks, two boxes of RoC RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. Excited because I’ll do anything to maintain my youth. Normally, I have been using L’OREAL Paris Youth Code brand on my skin and what’s great about this product I am still able to use my regular moisturizer. But I opt not to last night because I want to see if the product really work so that I can give you my honest opinion. The product is oil free and non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores). So last night I decided to try it out, I should see the first results in a few weeks I believe.

The chart says:


4 weeks: Skin is more radiant, Crow’s feet are visibly reduced and signs of photo-damaged are diminished


8 weeks: Under eye wrinkles are smoothed, expression lines are visibly reduced


12 weeks; Deep wrinkles and fine lines are visibly reduced.

Men’s Grooming: How I Acheive Robert Redford Look Using L’OREAL Paris

This year highlight at Sundance Film Festival 2012 was working with the talented, handsome actor and Founder of Sundance Film Festival,  Robert Redford.  Men are not always consistent about taking care of their skin but Mr. Redford understands how important it is to maintain collagen and elastin in his skin appearance. A few key items that I used on Mr. Redford were from L’OREAL PARIS to achieve his classic look.

Because Redford would be busy speaking at panels and doing interviews, I knew sleep was not happening during the festival so I made sure that I had my L’OREAL Paris Men’s Expert Hydra-Energetic Cold Eye Roller. 

The eye roller has Vitamin C and Caffeine so it gives an instant refreshing look to dark under eyes or puffiness. On his skin I used L’OREAL Paris Men’s Expert Vita Lift SPF 15 Wrinkle & Firming Moisturizer. 

This product contains retinol so it hydrates the skin leaving it glowing and smooth.  Redford has amazing thick hair, so I used L’OREAL Paris Studio Line “Out of Bed Texturizer” on his hair to achieve the effortless messy hair look that Redford likes.

Skincare Tip: How To Maintain Youthful Skin

Being a Freelance Makeup Artist in New York during Fashion Week can be really hard on the body. My hectic schedule consist of early call time, running from show to show, and working long hours. Not leaving me enough time during the day to eat healthy, and getting enough sleep. So how do I maintain a fresh youtful look while working with so many beautiful models.

The most important and consistent thing I do every morning and every night to keep my skin rejuvenated are four easy steps: Day Lotion, Serum Intense, Eye Cream and Night Cream. I use L’OREAL Paris Youth Code to maintain skin quality and visibly younger looking skin. Youth Code helps me to maintain a youthful look as I work with many young models doing fashion week. Even if my feet and body is exhausted Youth Code awakens my skins keeping it from looking fatigue and dull.

A fun tip that you can try when using Youth Code Eye Cream:
Every morning before I start my skin regimen I place my eye cream in the freezer for 1-2 mins. After I remove the eye cream from the freezer I press the cold metal applicator tip under my eye. The ingredients like; glycerin, algae extract, caffeine, and panthenol instantly soothe the puffiness under my eye and illuminate the dark circles. Leaving me with a bright refresh look as I walk into the Lincoln Center to glam up the models.

L’OREAL Paris Boutique inside Bed Bath & Beyond

L’OREAL Paris first ever flagship boutique on the Upper East Side is located inside of Bed Bath &amp Beyond. The boutique opened last year on October 28th offering a wide-range of hair color, hair care, cosmetics and skincare products. If you’re a L’OREAL Paris consumer and can never find your favorite items you at your neighborhood drug store you may want to stop by. I find the L’OREAL boutique to be brightly lit, and fully stocked with all the of the items from Elnett Satin Hair Spray, to my favorite, The Studio Secrets Professionals and hair colors for days. Defintely a pleasant location to shop for hours. A special treat not knowing when you will find a L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Artist hanging out.
