Makeup: Get Tangerine Orange This Spring

Makeup by Connecticut Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
It’s definitely spring time and I am starting to retire some of my winter clothes, scarves, and boots. I am excited about wearing a pop of color, and this spring my palette will consist of beautifully ostentatious oranges.

During New York Fashion Week Fall 2012, designers like Nanette LeporeMonique LhuillierTracy ReeseAnna Sui, and Michael Kors, all flirted with shades of bright orange on the runway with their collection, makeup, clothes, and even nails. Just last week, I was a guest makeup artist at the Sephora stores in Greenwich and Danbury, the store was hosting a high end limited collection called Tangerine Tango.

Bold tangerine lip colors will not be the only choice this spring, as there will be lots of yummy orange lip shades for you to choose from. You can select a sheer lip, a stain lip, or a strong bold lip color. If you’re not ready to add it to your lips then make sure to add this delicious color to your wardrobe or your nails.

Michael Kors Body Shimmer and Leg Shine

After I finish applying makeup on my gorgeous bride there is always one last item that I like to place on her: body shimmer. One of my favorite designers, Michael Kors , thought of a fabulous item for just that. Michael Kors Glimmer Crème adds that little glimmer and glam all over the body. A perfect item for me to have in my makeup kit as fall approaches. I can give my brides that instant gorgeous, golden glow all over the shoulders, arms, and décolleté.

What I enjoy the most is that the glimmer crème is not heavy or greasy, but gives just enough moisture as it deposits the right amount of glow needed on the skin. What a treat to leave behind, a sensual and musk fragrance, allowing anyone near to enjoy the luxurious Michael Kors signature scent.
But Michael Kors didn’t stop there, his light scented Leg Shine is a shimmer stick that has a hint of bronze tint. A great item for my modern and destination brides who wear short wedding dresses on the beach. As you make your way down the sandy aisle, your bare legs will have a healthy glow. No mess and no fuss on your wedding day because it’s packaged in a convenient twist up canister that is easy to use.

Make this your little secret on your wedding day and every time you wear it your hubby will remember the first time he smelled it on you.

I am so excited to hear that fashion designer Michael Kors has teamed up with Estee Lauder to release a limited edition makeup collection. The collection, Very Hollywood, is said to be released in January, 2010.

The Very Hollywood collection will have two color palettes; Bel-Air Beige which will feature beige/coral tones and Rodeo Pink a bold Barbie like pink, and will include two lip glosses, two lipsticks, blush, an eyeshadow duo, an eye pencil, and a nail lacquer.

There are three standout pieces of the Michael Kors Very Hollywood makeup collection:
a shimmering loose powder, a sheer pink Hollywood Gold lip sheen that features gold flecks and matching Hollywood Gold lip gloss.

Well, I can’t wait to play especially with the Rodeo Pink…because I will always be a PINK LADY!

Price point ranges from $18.00 to $32.00.

This season, it’s all about the skin, glowing skin. All of the catwalk makeup looks had a clash of bold colors vs neutral nudes. I picked two makeup looks from the runway that I like. With so many great looks, from the red pout to the All-American peachy glow, let me know which makeup style works best for you.
Brown shadows are worked around the eye with curled, mascara-free lashes and cheekbones are highlighted with pinky taupe blusher. A dash of shimmer across the cupid’s bow and don’t forget the neat brows.

Suitable for all skin tones, this look gets you glowing with blushers, eye shadows and lipsticks in varying peachy hues for a sculpted, sun kissed look.

Pale green, pink and lilac shadows give an almost futuristic appeal. In some cases eyes, lips, and cheeks were accentuated.

Red lips are back in a big way. The shade to the model’s skin tone – a mix of reds and pinks is mixed directly onto lips.

Eyes took on a twist. Lids were lined with plenty of black kohl, tapered at the edges of the eye for a winged effect.
