Just getting back from working at Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. So on this season of Project Runway 11, I was only able to work on the finale during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. As usual our call time was at 4am so I never sleep, I stay up after working because I’m commuting from Connecticut that I have to drive in. Before leaving I got the house ready for the big Nor’easter that we, the Tri-State were getting later this afternoon. So if I get stuck in the city the kids would have food & heat.
I was very excited about this seeing designer Sammy B because I got to work with her a year ago in Harlem for Harlem’s Fashion Row photo shoot. Like many people who meet & work with her, I fell in luv with Sammy B. I was also excited about meeting two other designers, Stanley Hudson & Michelle Lesniak Franklin. I was praying that I get to do the makeup for their models. Stanley collection was very old era meet new era classy women. Stanley had these rings that had my names written all over them. Michelle clothing mesmerize me that I couldn’t even do my work, I kept looking at the all her models that kept coming in. I was Christmas shopping in my head. I ended up with getting two of Patricia models in one of Stanley model.

Yesterday Project Runway call time for hair & makeup was 4:30am. Regardless of how early the call time is every year, I always look forward to doing makeup at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Getting booked to work New York Fashion Week always excite me.
One of the makeup looks for the morning show was an effortless look. It was all about minimum foundation with luminous skin. No eyeliner, no powder, no contouring, no highlighting, and no lashes.
To pull of the fresh face makeup look, I used 1 drops of L’OREAL Paris Day Lotion, 1 drop of L’OREAL Paris True Match Lumi Foundation, and 1 drop of L’OREAL Paris Magic Lumi. I mixed all 3 products on my palette and I used my fingers to apply to the model face. A perfect spring look; young, soft, and fresh.
I miss Michael Kors on this season Project Runway so I decided to wear my Michael Kors vest

I really luv this effortless look, Magic Lumi Primer is amazing to achieving that luminous look

Last week I have such a great time doing a L’OREAL Paris event for the Project Runway Electric Fantasie Limited Edition Makeup Collection at Duane Reade. This event they actually pulled out the red carpet…literally. This season collection is to die for that I’m sure it will sell out really fast.
Artsy Muse, Enchanted Queen, Seductive Empress, & Wise Mystic are the names of the collection.
The collection that spoke most to me and the one that I was obsessed with is called Wise Mystic because of the lipstick and lip gloss shade. I luv the iridescent lip gloss, it looks great by itself, with the lipstick, or any lipstick shade.
Two of the invited bloggers that I got to do makeup on were Tineey and Style Island. Read their insight about this GLAMXURIOUS event on their blog.
Putting on The Wise Mystic Collection on Tineey…we put have on the same collection.
Style Island is wearing The Artsy Muse Collection…the lipgloss is everything!

Last night like so many fashionistas around the world, I was glued to the Lifetime network to watch Season 10 of Project Runway. I was excited about being apart of the the first day, doing makeup on the designers for the Lifetime promo photo shoot for the season 10 website & for the show. Being a L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Artist & Beaute’ Concierge, it’s always an honor to be a part of a show I personally watch.
The three ladies that I did makeup on the first day were Beatrice Guapo, Sonjia Williams, and Buffi Jashanmal. Each girl has a totally different look so it was fun to do their makeup like what they would normally do. To create their makeup look, here is a cheat sheet of what I used from L’OREAL Paris cosmetics.
Beatrice Guapo
On Beatrice, I wanted to keep her natural beauty, so I used makeup colors that would compliment her flawless skin.
L’OREAL Paris True Match Foundation & Powder
L’OREAL Paris Infallible 24hr Endless Pearl Eye shadow
L’OREAL Paris Infallible 24 hr Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black
L’OREAL Paris True Match Naturale Mascara in Blackest Black
L’OREAL Paris True Match Blush in Innocent Flush N3-4
l’oreal Paris Glam Bronze Bronzing Powder in Dazzling Sunlight
L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Peach Fuzz
L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche leGloss in Peach Fuzz
Sonjia is shy but has a little sass in her, the blue hair says it all. So to keep her youthful I decided to go with the following items.
L’OREAL Paris True Match Foundation & Powder
L’OREAL Paris Infallible 24hr Eye shadow in Amber Rush
L’OREAL Paris Infallible Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black
L’OREAL Paris Voluminious Smoldering Liner in Black
L’OREAL Paris Voluminious Mascara in Carbon Black
L’OREAL Paris Glam Bronze Bronzing Powder in Dazzling Sunlight
L’OREAL Paris Infallible 6hr Lip liner in Pink *used as a lipstick
L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour in Tickled Pink
Buffi, is my Sporty Spice meets Lady Gaga, she wanted her signature bold makeup look. So, I gave it to her.
L’OREAL Paris True Match Foundation & Powder
L’OREAL Paris HIP Studio Secrets Professional Bright Shadow Duo in Flare
L’OREAL Paris HIP Studio Secrets Professional Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Teal
L’OREAL Paris Infallible 24hr Eye shadow in Endless Sea *before the teal eyeliner dry go over the liner with endless sea to make it pop
L’OREAL Paris Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Forever Fuchsia
L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche leGloss in Watermelon Crush

It’s always cool to work assignments on TV shows that you actually watch. Project Runway is one of those shows that I LOVE and I have always enjoyed doing makeup for Project Runway. Today’s assignment was a little different. It’s the photo shoot of the season 10 designers for the official Lifetime Project Runway page. The three designers that I worked with were: Buffi Jashanmal from Dubai, Sonjia Williams from Boston, and Beatrice Guapo from San Diego. I loved them. All three had different personalities and style. I can’t wait to see what the clothes they design on the show will look like. Buffi and I made a pack that we will reunite at the finale show and switched personal gifts. Buffi gave me a lipstick pen and I gave Buffi a L’OREAL Paris leGloss. So just like all Project Runway fans, I will be at home cheering on the designers seeing who will MAKE IT WORK.

For the last two years I missed the opportunity to be a part of the Project Runway finale. This year as soon as the date was released I took myself off the books and called Leah at L’OREAL to tell her that I wanted to be on the team. Leah made a phone called in my bestie Tiffany and I was added to the team. A few weeks later we received the details with call time starting at 4am and that lead artist Scott Patric was happy to have two makeup artists from L’OREAL Paris on the team. Scott is awesome so we were just as elated about working with him. Tiffany and I met up at the Lincoln Center for 3:30am as we were entering through the back the production company was already filming the designers outside. So we got to meet the designers and wish them luck. Just like many large assignments we had to sign a confidentiality agreement and cameras, and tweeting was not allowed. So this is as far as I can go, sorry.

If you haven’t heard by now that Christian Dior 2009 Haute Couture spectacle était fe’roce, as Christian Siriano from Project Runway would say…FIERCE. The models, hair, makeup, dresses, backdrops, and music-very couture. I am so ready to see these looks hit the mainstream this fall.
The bar jacket which is my favorite was the item that had all the women buzzing. It is definitely the iconic piece of the collection bringing the waistline back. You will notice that they played with a lot of fabrics like ruffles, a texture that they started out with then silk chiffon. A way the designer likes to bring a sexual undercurrent into their new direction. The collection was not extravagant, but highly sophisticated with intricate details. The jackets that added panels of fabric cascading like a waterfall or the outfits where all volume is carried on the hips, not forgetting the belts, left me speechless. Let me stop blabbing and let you enjoy the show for yourself.
