I Love Rock N Roll Meets Glam Rock Makeup Look

This morning I woke up feeling really good and pain free. I was feeling like the old me so I knew I wanted to play with my hair & makeup. My signature makeup look is a dark eye with a glossy nude lip. I prefer a bronzer with shimmer for a blush and sometimes a sheer pink blush.

I like a matte full coverage foundation because I have lots of moles on my face in a small lupus butterfly rash on my nose that I’m self-conscious about. So I always wear layers of foundation and powder.

I decided to do a blog post on this look because I received so many nice complements from the ladies in Connecticut about my makeup look.

Today’s matte and flawless finish makeup look was created with using the following makeup items.

Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector $36.00
YSL Fusion Fix Foundation in Toffee $60.00
Marc Jacobs Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation in Cocoa $46.00
NARS Eyepaint in Transvaal $25.00
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Desperation $18.00
NARS eyeshadow in Night Breed $25.00
Stila Kajal eyeliner in Onyx $18.00
STILA Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner in Black $20.00
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara $28.00
Bobbi Brown Shimmer in Aruba $40.00

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmer in Luminous $29.00
TARTE Lipsurgence Matte Lip Tint in Exposed $24.00
TARTE Lipsurgence Lipgloss in Park Ave Princess $19.00

New York Bridal Beauty With L’OREAL Paris USA

I started my day earlier in Chelsea doing makeup at designer Cesar Galindo show for New York Fashion Week. I end my day on the Upper East Side doing bridal makeup at L’OREAL Paris Cathedral with Tiffany who is also a L’OREAL Paris Makeup Artist. The event was from 5-8pm and the register brides received a makeup consultant, complimentary bridal makeup application, and a goody bag from L’OREAL Paris. It’s always a treat when brides from Connecticut attend my events in New York.
For a softer eye I lined her eyes with L’OREAL Paris Infallible 24hr Eye Shadow In  Eternal Black.
The L’OREAL Paris products I used to create the look. The only thing missing is the L’OREAL Paris Voluminous Power Volume 24hr mascara that the bride get to keep.

How I Created A Glossy Smokey Eye With L’OREAL Paris

Today assignment with Thor Equities was really fun and after talking with Garrett about the look he wanted for the 5 models I knew which L’OREAL Paris products to use to create the smokey eye. I selected makeup from L’OREAL Paris Infallible Never Fail Makeup Collection because I needed the models makeup to last the entire evening. For the glossy lacquer look I selected the gel liner. It’s very easy to apply and it goes on smooth. See what other items I used to create my glamxurious smokey eye.

BEHIND THE BEAUTY: Versace Fall 09

written by Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

My favorite Makeup Artist Pat McGrath did it again…she really glammed up the makeup for Versace Ready-To -Wear Fall 2009 fashion show. McGrath mimicked Donatella Versace’s everyday smoky look when she did the makeup on the models. Personally this is my favorite style of makeup; I love it on my clients, on photo shoots and myself. This smoky intense black eye can work well on everybody if done correctly.

McGrath put together shiny black and dark blue powders on the socket and underneath the eye. She accentuated the crease of the eyes with a shimmery pink powder blending it right under the brow bone. To give it that wow factor she applied black false eyelashes. She used black eyeliner very heavily and she also filled in the models brows for definition. On the cheeks she re-used that same shimmery pink powder and a second pale matte pink blush. A liquid pearlized highlighter right above the check bone to help bring focus to eyes. McGrath finished this sexy glamor look with a nude gloss.

I think this may be the look I will wear tonight…with exception of taking the black shadow all the way out to the socket.
