World Lupus Day really motivated me to be a better advocate for lupus. How can I ask others to help if I don’t bring awareness to the disease. I blog about it but now I’m going to shout on the mountain top. All my tweets & Instagram post will have a hashtag #LetsBeatLupus If I want more research, better meds, more educated doctors then I have to go get it myself.
I also came up with a few ideas that I’m not ready to share yet until I get an attorney but know it will be good for us lupus warriors.

Makeup Monday: Feeling Effortlessly Pretty
What a beautiful Monday…I woke up feeling like how Ciara look on the cover of Essence magazine May issue. Feeling good, pain free, no lupus flare up’s and/or body pain. My mood today is everything in this picture. With a no makeup makeup look, smelling delicious like spring with an effortless pop of color on the cheeks in lips while enjoying the view of the lake from home. This is the way that I would like to start my week off.

No More Lipstick On The Rim Of Your Glass
Ladies very soon you will be getting off heading to your favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with friends. Lots of margaritas will be served, as well as tequila being poured and that will be for many their drink of choice this evening. The worst thing when you go out drinking is leaving your lipsticks on the rim of the glass. To put a stop to that pet peeve you should wear a long wearing lip stain, lipstick or lipgloss.

Long Wearing Makeup Products To Use On Prom Night
It’s prom season everywhere and last weekend I was busy with getting the girls from Brookfield and New Fairfield, Connecticut high schools makeup ready for their proms.
There were many that I couldn’t help with their makeup, so I thought about the girls who will be doing their own makeup. If your not able to book an appointment at a salon, at a makeup counter, or have a glam squad come to your home, then you will need a few key long wearing items to help your makeup last all night.
Being that I’m a makeup artist I always make sure that I use a few must have items so I selected 4 (foundation, eyeliner, lipsticks, setting spray) must have items that will be important to achieving a long wearing glam look. Hopefully this will help you pull off your favorite Pinterest or Instagram makeup look.
Here are a few things that you will need to keep your makeup lasting the entire evening and leave you looking like you went to a pro.

It’s Certification Day At Sephora Today
Today was such a good day at Sephora. As you know I’m a Senior Artist at Sephora and one of my job description is certifying the cast to do makeup at the beauty studio. Today’s cast member is someone that I have been spending a lot of time with observing and coaching her for this day. During the 2 hours certification the participant has to do two makeup looks; Natural & Tri-Color. To see her do both look and the growth in her work made me so happy & proud..Yes she passed!

During the movie I started having a flare up…the pain was horrible my body was going numb was having chest & arm pains. I stayed through the entire movie but couldn’t stay afterwards. Hubby got me in a cab we picked up our car at Zulema home and he drove like a mad man to get me home… that damn lupus, always spoiling my fun!

Spring is here so I need some new lip colors to rock. With so many new brands, shades, and textures I can’t decide what to buy, glossy wands, the shine free looks, crayons, or long wearing. In my beauty arsenal I have bold bright yummy colors that look good on me that’s for sure. I have my eyes on some new goodies that I can’t wait to grace my lips with. When Melissa Swider, NARS Account Manager For Sephora trained me on this product I was so please with the sheer texture. Melissa shared with me that the bronzer is inspired by Motu Tane, the private getaway of Francois Nars. So now you can escape to paradise with Tahiti Bronze creating the effect of being under the sun by wearing it alone or mixing it with makeup for an all over, healthy looking glow. It’s enriched with Monoi and Tamanu Oils from French Polynesia know for their moisturizing properties.
APPLICATION TIPS:
*As a bronzer apply using fingertips, glide over the areas where the sun hits naturally-the tops of cheeks, forehead, and the bridge of the nose. Smooth and blend into skin.
*For an all over healthy glow mix into NARS Monoi Body Glow, Tinted Moisturizer, Foundation. Also try it with NARS Hot Sand Illuminator. Smooth and blend onto skin.
To apply any type of powder bronzer on the body to really enhance that bronzed look try using NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush or the Hanamachi Kabuki Brush.
