2 Weddings In New Orleans On A Beautiful Saturday

img_4152

I’m very excited about today, two special women are getting married in New Orleans on the same day. How fantastic is that and I get to do both their makeup for their wedding. With my first bride Nancy, she’s been a client for about 15 years. I’ve been in her life longer then her husband. I’ve been getting her glam for all her special occasions in New Orleans. So of course I was going to be her makeup artist for this day. My second bride Brittany has been around for a long time. Since she was 16 I’ve been her makeup artist. I met Brittany when I did her old sisters wedding and then Brittany worked for me at my makeup studio in New Orleans. So both ladies have amazing memories with me. Here are pics from both weddings.

I do makeup very well with champagne, just saying. And all of my loyal clients knows that.

Below I listed the makeup I used on Nancy from Entitled Beauty cosmetics. I Love this woman,,,Nancy!!!

Off to wedding number two, like a celebrity makeup artist that I am. Just like old times in New Orleans.

I’ve done this gorgeous face so many times but today this is my favorite makeup look and bridal makeup look.

So elated about using my new makeup on Brittany before I launched these eyeshadows on Nov 14. It’s from the Social Class collection and this color is called “Broke A$$” so check out Entitled Beauty cosmetics online.

The first dance and I was able to capture this lovely moment and Black & White video.

Now let the dancing begin…only in New Orleans style

Connecticut Celebrity Makeup Artist Teaches Everything Beauty With Beauty Blueprint

Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis and Kerry Washington at Sundance Film Fest

I get asked daily “How Did You Do It” as far as branding myself in the beauty industry as a Celebrity Makeup Artist without an Agent, Manager, or Publicist. After flirting with the idea of sharing my tips, tricks, and ideas with other makeup artists & hair stylists, I decided “Why not” share my beauty blueprint.

Beauty Blueprint.jpgBeauty Blueprint is a consultation service to provide answers, suggestions, and lessons on anything to do with beauty. My consultation will always take place through Skype or Facetime in the comfort of your own home. I’m excited about it because so many artists & stylists that are living in other states who do not have the budget to travel to meet with me will find this setup convenient. I remember when I started out, I didn’t have a mentor to guide me with the business side. A lot of the business women I looked up to were either in New York, LA, or Europe. I learned a lot of my business acumen through trial and error. I didn’t know what pictures to use in my portfolio, or on my own website. I didn’t know how and what to charge clients, or how to market myself. I wanted to work in the beauty & entertainment industry but had no clue where to begin. 21 years later I am sitting down helping others with their passion of being a successful makeup artists and hair stylists. This is their opportunity to pick my brain to learn what to do, even if they are already working but find themselves in a rut. I don’t just give someone a contact list of names, it’s a business. Clients can book time with me at their own pace, with questions that they have. If they want to just learn what items they need in their kit, how to do invoices, how to market themselves, or product questions, Beauty Blueprint can provide insight. The client is in charge with what they want to learn, no unnecessary curriculum. Each session is customized to fit each client’s needs. Makeup school teach how to do makeup but as a Celebrity Makeup Artist you are learning from someone who is in the business. I teach what a school cannot…experience, clients will learn first hand from a successful makeup artist.

And while Beauty Blueprint mostly caters to clients looking to grow in the industry, it also provides basic services to people looking for personal beauty advice as well. Such as, defining your personal beauty look, beauty tips and tricks, “How To” makeup lessons, and personal beauty shopping. Beauty Blueprint: Design Your Beauty.

What’s Your Golden Globes Must Have Makeup Item

Makeup Artist & Beauty Blogger Brandy Gomez-Duplessis on set creating makeup looks for The Golden Globes Awards

If I had to pick one beauty product to have in my makeup kit today for the Golden Globes Awards it would have to be L’OREAL Paris Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray. After giving my client a glamxurious makeup look I would want her makeup to stay fresh for hours while on the red carpet and during the award show. The setting spray will keep the makeup from smudging and settling into fine lines. With all those paparazzi around who need that nightmare of bad makeup.

What’s your must have makeup item if you were attending the Golden Globes?

Glam New Year’s Makeup Look With Glitter & Lashes

This is a fun New Year’s Eve makeup look I did 5 years ago with Tia Williams and Essence Magazine for a Shake Your Beauty segment. It’s so funny to see how my makeup artistry has grown since then. But I had such a great time at the Essence magazine office creating this glam New Year’s Eve makeup look that I had to share it with you. It’s a simple makeup look that could be done tonight especially if you luv glitter, lashes and bronzer.

Its always an honor when peers especially the younger ones reach out to me with consideration of featuring me on their blog. It’s a great way to introduce myself and my makeup artistry to the younger audience who is not aware of all the cool assignments I’ve done before Instagram and other social media pages. I luv the fact that Christine from The Sista Circle did her homework on me, it’s always nice to reminisce, I must say I had a great run. Check out the interview here and yes I did have that moment with actor Paul Rudd, lol.

My Favorite Blur Primers For Instant Smooth Skin

Connecticut Makeup Artist and Sephora Beauty Studio Coordinator Brandy Gomez-Duplessis makeup look at Donna Karan Market Week.jpg-originalEverybody love to look photo-shop in their pictures but what about days your not taking pictures. I know for me I have a challenge with skin texture. Because my entire face is covered with moles I like to look like I have a flawless complexion. So my must have to achieving that look is Blur Primer.

The great thing about blur primers is that it can be used on all ages, all skin tones, and on both men and women. When I’m on set especially working with men, brides, and photo shoots, I always prep with a blur primer. It gives such a smooth texture covering skin bumps, fine lines, and minimizes the appearances of large pores.

Blur primer is a lightweight non greasy product that feels silky to the skin leaving you with an instant smooth skin. Here are my favorite blur’s I like to use personally and on my clients.

  1. Lancome Visionnaire 1-Minute Blur
  2. L’OREAL Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur
  3. NudeStix Pencil Blur
  4. Philosophy Instant Miracle Worker Line Erasing Blur Stick
  5. YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector
