Beauty Influencer’s Who Enjoy Working Together

img_4175-1When I start my week with my cousin (inside joke) Ilse then I know my week is going to be a prosper one.

What Ilse and I enjoy doing is working together brainstorming with each other on business and our blog. We love creating content together and we have hours of fun doing it.

Ilse has a fantastic blog called Live Learn Luxe It and we motivate each other when it comes to pushing one another on how to enhance our blog.

Being a Beauty Influencer takes a lot of work and commitment. She’s definitely more discipline about posting daily. I’m getting there you probably noticed that I do a lot of my posting all day on Sundays. Tomorrow I’ll post an article that Ilse did on her blog. You might remember me talking about it.

Wait…what do you think about my purple hair? Is it a Hit or Miss?

Getting Audrey Makeup Ready For Her Birthday Celebration

img_3693
Audrey is a client of mine that come to see me for all of her special occasions in her life if I’m available. I think I may have missed her one time but I always managed to make it work for her. After leaving the salon Audrey met me at my home after she got off from work. I made sure to have a bottle of Mionetto Prosecco ready for her upon arriving. The weather was horrible with a rain storm but nothing was stopping Audrey from going out to celebrate. Her friends also kept calling to check in that she wasn’t cancelling the party. I guess when you’re young the weather doesn’t stop the party.

Check out the ending makeup look, all she need to do once she return home is hair then get dressed….Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

On her eyes I used Stila Cosmetics Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Molten Midnight and Jaclyn Hill Eye Shadow Palette from Morphe with FAB Lashes from Absolute New York

A Lovely Evening At Terra Of Danbury Restaurant

After spending a glamxurious day in New York with some of the most sophisticated women at The Plaza Hotel eating, enjoying an eclectic playlist of music while sipping on champagne and playing with makeup I ended my evening in Connecticut.  I met up with my besties makeup artist Johnny Luoma and Business Sales Specialist at Microsoft Randy for dinner at our favorite restaurant in Danbury, Terra of Danbury inside Hotel Zero Degrees. I luv that they scratch cook their food and the Old & New World Northern Italian dishes is why I enjoy this restaurant. Of course the ambiance and top customer service is always top notch.

Girls Day With Connecticut Beauty Influencers & Beauty Bloggers

img_2675

What do Beauty Influencers, Bloggers, and Makeup Artists do when they get together? My girls, lifestyle blogger Ilse & makeup artist Daisy both have been doing some traveling this spring & summer so a girls day has been overdue. Ilse decided to host a girls afternoon at her home in Stamford, CT. When we’re together we love talking about blogs, sponsor post, luxurious posh items, we take tons of selfies while drinking and of course we talk about makeup & skincare products. We luv bouncing new ideas off of each others. We came up with something fun but now we just have to do some research then come up with a name. I can’t wait to share it with you.

This lumee case is giving me life. I can’t seem to put it down. My highlighter is everything today. Nicka K NY  bronzer in Nectar Soleil is my all time favorite. It’s one of the best bronzer out there for brown skin women.  Before you ask me about my signature lip color I’m also wearing from Nicka K NY Hydro Lipstick in  Gladiola. I don’t know what’s hotter my lips or the summer heat.

Ilse came up with a great idea to stay cool this summer for adults. She likes to place Outshine Frozen Fruit Bars inside our wine glass. One, it keeps the wine at a nice temperature while outdoors. Then it also gave the Chardonnay a nice flavor. My fruit bar was mango so can you image the delicious taste that was.

When you’re with your girlfriends what do you all enjoy doing together?

Did Remy Ma Body Shame Women With Butt Shots & Breast Enhancement

Last night Remy Ma acceptance speech at the BET Awards for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist ended with; “Y’all bitches got fat while we starved/Shots in your ass, pads in your bras, y’all some liars it ain’t no facts in your songs/And yeah, that crown is coming back to the Bronx.”

I understand that was suppose to be a diss to Nicki Minaj but this particular line “Shots in your ass, pads in your bras” could be referenced to so many women not just in the entertainment industry. Is this considered a part of body shaming?

If you have butt shots and breast enhancement how did you feel when you heard Remy Ma make that comment? Just asking.

Monday Vibe While Working From Home

Happy Monday!!! Today I’m working from home and if any of you that work from home know that distractions happens. As I’m writing beauty articles, some material for my book, and working on wedding contracts my playlist is throwing me off. Now, I know I can turn the music off but I find it funny that today every song is my favorite song, (lol). What throws you off while working from home?

Saturday Night Family Night In Norwalk

Ladies, is it a production after you get ready? I know it’s suppose to be family night but I had to try out my new Lumee phone case.

After work I managed to get the family together after 15 texts to everyone while at the salon. It’s a lot of work nowadays to get everyone together. But as soon as I said we need FAMILY TIME everything shut down and they were all mine. So I found this spot one day on my Instagram timeline somehow. What caught my attention was the word CRABS. I’m always looking for a casual setting place that serve seafood, let me correct myself fresh quality seafood. So when B.J. Ryan’s B.AN.C House BBQ & Crab popped up I knew this would be the next restaurant for us to visit for family night in Norwalk. I’m always looking for the perfect place in Connecticut because I hate always having to take that drive to New York to eat quality food. With Michael being a GM in the food industry, I’m picky not just about the food but the ambience and customer service then the kids are picky about food portions. So the restaurant we visit have to pass all four of our test. Being from New Orleans we are all use to great seafood, I must say B.J.Ryan’s B.AN.C House BBQ & Crab passed the test on everything; quality, decor, customer service and food portion. My only challenge was the way they fix their frozen margarita. A little watery not really a frozen drink but the taste was good.  It’s definitely worth more visits to Norwalk.

While in the car I had to test out my Lumee case girls I’m obsessed!

OK, back to the food…We started out with the Giant Nug Crab Cocktail, Deviled Eggs, Tempura Fried Broccoli Crowns (dip them in the sweet chili sauce).

Hubby ordered the Smoked Meat Sampler

I ordered the B.AN.C House Crab Fest

Sunday Riley: Why Everyone Is So Obsessed With the Skin-Care Brand Right Now

In January beauty writer Deanna from Allure magazine interviewed me about a skincare brand that I’m very obsessed with called Sunday Riley.  Being that I’m a makeup artist that is always on set working with celebrities, at photo shoots, fashion shows, and award shows, I am always looking for the best skincare to give me that flawless complexion. I can honestly say, Sunday Riley has given me just that.

————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Sunday Riley skincare.jpgThe other night, I was out to dinner with a friend. We’ll call her Brittany. While I was busy stealing handfuls of crispy fries off her plate, she waxed poetic about the skin-care brand Sunday Riley. “I love Sunday Riley,” she said. “I’m a sucker for the packaging. It makes it less scary.”

“What do you mean?”

“So retinol is an intimidating ingredient,” explained Brittany, trying to get a fry for herself. Retinol is an intimidating ingredient since, if not used correctly, the vitamin A derivative is as good at making your skin red and raw as it is at boosting collagen. “When I see a clinical retinol tube, I think, Oooh, my face is literally going to flake off. But when you offer it as blue oil and give it a fun name like Luna, I want it.” (I know. Our conversations are riveting.)

She was talking about Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil, a potent treatment that’s a rich, inky blue. (It gets that color from an anti-inflammatory ingredient called blue tansy oil. If you’re curious, we did a little investigating last year.) And Brittany wasn’t kidding: The bottle is as far as you can get from the sometimes fugly, superfunctional packaging of certain skin-care products. The font, minimalist and sophisticated. The name, whimsical. The formula itself, packed with retinol to smooth skin and boost collagen.

Last but not least: the price. It’s as high as you might think. (A one-ounce bottle of Luna Oil retails for $105, which means you’d better not drop any on your bathroom counter or drizzle any on the front of your shirt.) But this doesn’t stop fans from hoarding bottles by the Houston-based brand. “You pay for what you get,” says Brandy, a makeup artist from Ridgefield, Connecticut. In addition to Luna, she owns Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment, Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream, Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm, and U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil. If you’re counting, this regimen clocks in at $405 for a total of five full-size products. It’s worth every penny to Brandy. “I used to wear so much foundation because I hated my large pores and dark spots,” she says. “Sunday Riley has given me back my confidence. I don’t know what I would do without it.” Read Full Article Here.
