YMCA “Break Out The Bubble” Ribbon Cutting In Danbury Connecticut

img_1696I always enjoy attending social events, this time I didn’t have to go far. As they say, it was right in my own back yard…3 mins away. I was invited by Randy to attend “Break Out The Bubble” Ribbon Cutting & VIP Reception for the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut

The Regional YMCA were celebrating the opening of the 15,500 sq ft bubble enclosure making the outdoor pool available year-round. The new Youth Development & Aquatics Center building will now consists of new showers, bathrooms, and a lobby.  This is perfect for when kids are off during the holidays and parents we want our kids to have activities they could do while home. The aquatics center is something I’m elated about because of my chronic illness this will be a great way to stay healthy.

As you know I never stop working and while at the VIP Reception I had a fun time with JoAnn Cueva the Danbury Chamber Of Commerce Director. So much fun playing with makeup and giving her a personal makeup lesson and What’s In Your Bag service.

Fun Makeup Assignment At The Bravo Media Studio

I am so excited about working this assignment at Bravo Media Studio in New York. After a busy week working the Bruno Mars & The Hooligans assignment I was happy to be working on 2 females that I have so much respect for. Without giving away any info on the assignment my talents were TV Personality JWow, actress Tichnia Arnold and 2 female talents that will have a major role on this episodes.

I had such a great time with JWow in the morning on set, she is such a sweet girl. Love her energy and I luv that she likes to play with makeup. So JWow gave me free range to do what ever with her makeup, my kind of girl. We both luved how Stila cosmetics highlighter showed up on her. The foundation I used was Stila cosmetics Stay All Day Foundation, it’s one of my favorite to use on set because I like the way it shows up on camera and on photos. Here are some of the items I used on JWow.

Tichnia flew in this morning and came straight to the set to work. Now that is what I call A-LIST. On Tichnia I gave her a sultry dark eyes with a nude lip from Dior Beauty. I don’t even know how I got through with doing her makeup. She had me laughing the entire time. I wish more celebrities have her energy and personality on set. We connected over me being a lupus warrior and she luv how I did her makeup. Here are some of the items I used on her.

On the ladies I could not wait to pull out the few Fenty Beauty items I had. The products looked beautiful on the ladies. Fenty Beauty and Stila cosmetics made for a great team for my boogie down brown ladies.

GET TO KNOW CONNECTICUT CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST BRANDY GOMEZ-DUPLESSIS

celebrity-makeup-artist-brandy-gomez-duplessis-at-home.jpgMeet Brandy, my fairy glam-mother, as I like to call her. She’s probably my most fabulous and glamorous friend – and I know a lot of fab women! Why do I want you to know her? Because she’s definitely a #GirlBoss, paving the way for women entrepreneurs in the makeup industry. She’s been in the game for years, from owning her own makeup concierge boutique in New Orleans to working with some of the most high-profile celebrities and directing top print and editorial campaigns.

I first met Brandy about two years ago and instantly, we clicked. If you have the pleasure of knowing Brandy you know her personality is magnetic, over-the-top in the best way possible, and the warmest soul. She won’t boast about all the amazing things she’s accomplished. Nope. She’d rather learn about your goals and do anything in her power to help you achieve them – to know her is truly to love her.

A few weeks ago I asked her if I could share a bit of what she’s accomplished in her amazing career and just chat about what she’s currently up to. She agreed! So we sat down, I got to play reporter and Brandy got personal about life as a professional makeup artist in Connecticut.

How did you get started in the makeup industry? Did you always know you wanted to be a makeup artist?

I started at Estée Lauder in Walt Whitman Shops in Suffolk County, New York. I always knew I wanted to be in the beauty and fashion industry. I love being around fashion, hair, and makeup. I also flirt with photography and interior designs. I feel like I love everything that has anything to doing with enhancing a look.

You just came back from New Orleans working a big assignment. Can you share a little about it?

Yes, I was working as the Key Makeup Artist for the NBA All-Star Weekend. I was in charge of bringing on a team of hair and makeup artists and working on the talent. We always get big name actors and artists that are hot on the charts. I also create makeup looks on their background dancers, the NBA dancers, the band, and sometimes the players if they have a photo shoot scheduled. It’s a lot of work because everything is live on TNT so you always need to be ready for anything.
