Another Fab Day At Warren Tricomi Salon In Greenwich, CT

img_5252Another lovely day of working at Warren Tricomi Salon in Greenwich, CT. Saturday’s are always a busy one at the salon and the energy is so good with all those creative people working on beautiful canvas that I enjoy being there. Now that I have Entitled Beauty, I have a second love in my life. Being a new business owner and a entrepreneur it’s a lot of work. So to answer many peers concern if I’m still going to do makeup  now that I have Entitled Beauty makeup line. The answer is YES, definitely! Makeup is my love, it’s my life, 21 years of doing makeup. I’m not going to stop until my hands fall off. It’s almost there with RA but even that can’t stop me. I want to see my beautiful artistry using my products on my clients.

I’m really excited that I am able to use my Entitled Beauty Mineral Liquid Lipsticks on my clients at Warren Tricomi. It’s nice to see my perfectly matte lippies on them. As you can see I’m wearing my comfortable Floafers shoes in black so when I’m working for over 8 hours my feet doesn’t hurt.

Bruno Mars Viewing Party At Sylvia Also

img_5054Date night to the city is always a treat and tonight my date was my daughter. I thought it would be fun for her to get out of the house and meet some of the crew members from production that I often work with. I knew Bruno Mars and The Hooligans was not going to be there but it was such a great group of people to celebrate with on something that we all did together. So I was so excited to receive an invite from Angela, the Field Producer and Casting Director for the show. I definitely wanted to celebrate with the person who brought me on, William The Line Producer. He’s such an amazing guy and very talented at his craft.

We arrived at 9pm on the dot to Sylvia Also in Harlem and drinks were already flowing. Everyone was in great spirit and excited about watching the show. Of course the food was catered by Sylvia’s Restaurant. I love the edible 24k chicken she served and all the Bruno Mars theme drinks.

Last call as I sip on my champagne while dancing my way out the door.

We are starting with 10 highly pigmented perfectly matte lip colors that has 3x the pigments then most.

All of you bloggers will appreciate that us beauty influencers are proud to say we are now owners of a makeup line called Entitled Beauty. We both wanted a signature color to call our own. Arleth is a perfect shade of burgundy. It’s like your lips has been stained by a lovely glass of the darkest red wine out there. It’s so dark that you can’t see through it. It’s a creamy, matte, texture liquid lipstick that is long wearing, every woman really should have in her makeup bag.

I Love Having A Busy Monday

As you know by now I like to start my Monday’s with a motivational quote for the week on my Instagram page is; Grow to be a force, everyday this week act like your the CEO. Make yourself accountable, not everyone is a hater and/or jealous.

I started my day with doing brows & makeup on one of my favorite clients cabaret singer Wendy Scherl in Ridgefield, CT. Wendy is performing tonight in New York at the Metropolitan Room. I always enjoy doing her makeup because we have the best conversation ever.

After doing makeup I had a meeting in Stamford, CT to talk about doing a Beauty Happy Hour event next month. I’m so excited about doing this but I know it’s going to be a lot of work planning it.

I had to rush back home to bring my son shopping for school things. He’s going to be a junior in college so he’s half done. Jordan is a biology major, he wants to be a Physican Assistant in the ER.

After mommy duties I had a phone conference with Johnny to go over our upcoming Makeup & Martini’s NYC makeup review video. We also discussed doing a tasting on Saturday in Stamford to go over the menu for my Beauty Happy Hour event.

It’s now 9pm and I need some me time, a date night with myself.

So what’s on your agenda this week?

Do You Know The Difference Between Champagne & Prosecco Because My Bartender Didn’t

As many of you know I’m a devoted Champagne and Prosecco drinker. My two favorite brands are Maison Veuve Clicquot and Mionetto Prosecco. I don’t need a special event or occasion to pop open a bottle of one of those fancy bubbles. Today during lunch I realized that a restaurant bartender didn’t know the difference between the two. Well, to keep the story short we noticed at lunch the bartender kept pouring us Prosecco but charged us for champagne. Everything was taking care of by the manager who was so embarrassed because the poor girl said she’s been doing this for some time because she didn’t know the difference.

Luv my Veuve Clicquot

Luv my Mionetto Prosecco

So, what’s the difference between Champagne & Prosecco? Here’s a tip about the two wines from Wine Folly

*The quick answer is Champagne is from France and Prosecco is from Italy, but there are some other things to know about both wines –especially if you like bubbly wine.

Champagne

Champagne is a sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France around the city of Reims about 80 miles (130 km) Northeast of Paris.

  • Made with ChardonnayPinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes
  • Produced using a costly method called the ‘Traditional Method’
  • standard pour of Brut Champagne has ~128 Calories (12% ABV)
  • $40 for a good entry-level Champagne

Prosecco

Prosecco is a sparkling wine made in the Veneto region of Italy around the city of Treviso about 15 miles (24 km) North of Venice.

  • Made with Prosecco (a.k.a. Glera) grapes
  • Produced using an affordable method called the ‘Tank Method’
  • standard pour of Prosecco has ~121 Calories (11% ABV)
  • $12-14 for a good entry-level Prosecco

Read more about it on Wine Molly

If you didn’t feel like doing all that reading basically champagne have persistent bubbles, its stronger with a drier taste and prosecco  has a lighter, spritzy bubbles and the taste is more fruity and sweet, at least to me. So, now I’m wondering how often does this happen. Have anyone else ever caught your bartender pouring you the wrong wine but charged you for a higher end wine?

The Life Of A Makeup Artist Who Does Video Blogs

img_7393

I really enjoy been busy with a variety of things that pertains to my career. This morning started at 8am prepping for a second Skype interview from the team in London about my upcoming speaking engagement.

I have worked so hard as a makeup artist in the beauty & entertainment industry for 20 years and the last few years I have looked at others avenues in the beauty industry like speaking at events about makeup & skincare. So when I receive emails and calls about speaking and educating others it’s a dream come true because as I have gotten older I am looking to stay in the beauty industry but I’m now ready to educate others more whether it’s aspiring makeup artists and/or consumers.

The call went very well I was able to get all of my questions answers and we went over my time frame, topics, and products needed. After the call I headed out to meet up with Johnny to film our second makeup video for Makeup & Martini’s NYC. I feel that the second video was so much easier and felt really good because I once again love to teach so I was able to show a little of that on the second video. I can’t wait for you all to see it on Friday.

Recently, I was gifted with a box of goodies from one of my favorite makeup brands so I waited to open the box of goodies with you all. We also took still pics for content to use on our Instagram page as well. If you haven’t followed us yet please do when you get a chance. Once again thanks to Finlandia Vodka for supporting us with products and our cute Finlandia martini glasses.

Behind The Scenes pic while filming Makeup and Martini’s NYC

Can I tell you how much hard work goes into this whole world of video blog. For now we are the producers, the directors, the lighting people, the camera people, wardrobe stylist, makeup artist, hairstylist, and bartender. Poor Johnny has the hard part he does all the editing. This is why all of those 100’s of videos I have of myself on my computer and hard drive just sit there is because I don’t have the patience for editing. So I am grateful for having Johnny cuz he handles all of the social media as well.

After filming we discuss our next week topic. So that we can have current content for you all.

Don’t forget to tune in on tomorrow to see our second video. Thanks Guys!
