As I watch the devastating fires spread across this beautiful state, I am overcome with sadness.
So many lives I’m sure have been lost, even if it’s just one life, homes destroyed, and businesses left in ashes. My heart aches for the families grieving, the communities displaced, and everyone impacted by this unimaginable tragedy.
Having spent so much time in California recently—it’s my second home with many plans coming up this year—I feel an even deeper connection to the resilience and beauty of this state. But even amidst this heartbreak, I know the strength of the California community will shine through.
To everyone affected: you are not alone. To the first responders and those offering aid: thank you for your bravery and compassion.
