Today is the Official Launch Day for DUO MODERN, our curated lifestyle online store! It’s October, but it feels like Christmas morning! Michael and I are beyond excited to announce the launch of DUO MODERN. We did hit a few bumps in the road—our payment system was stuck in “Test Mode” for six hours, which meant that 31 eager customers couldn’t place their orders. But I trust that everything happens for a reason, and those amazing supporters will be back later today. I know God has us covered.

Just last month, my 5-year position was dissolved, and suddenly, I have the time to fully focus on running the store and creating new designs. When I created “Resting Bitch Face” I first wanted it to have a name that would be iconic and I wanted it to be my Best Seller. I knew it would be an item that I would wear everyday and I wanted the color to brighten my face on my full cheeks. Because, I smile a lot I knew on my cheeks you would see that glow.

Below you will find the highlighters & lipsticks colors that I have on. On my lips is another favorite from my All Nighter lip collection called, Yes Bitch” and “Gurl Bye” from the metallic collection. With “Yes Bitch” when I finally was able to apply it on at the lab, the first thing that came out my mouth after checking myself out was “YES BITCH” and I knew that was going to be the name. Because when my Entitled Babe also put it on they were going to say the exact same thing (lmao). So, that’s how I come about with naming my items.
Recently I was interviewed by writer Jenn Sinrich for Sunday Riley blog called Sunday Edit. We talked about the new way of working in the beauty industry during the pandemic. I shared with her what it was like for me working as a Business Manager at Bloomingdale’s in Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Living here in Hawaii on Oahu island is like being on vacation everyday. But if you’re a full face makeup wearer like myself sometimes it can be a little challenging when it comes to makeup. The weather here is summer everyday and during the summer the sun is no joke. As a boogie down brown woman I can get a really good tan just by being outside for 30 mins. So, on days when I am going to the beach I try to give myself a softer makeup look and I select long wearing products that will stay all day as much as it possibly can. The great thing for me is that I have my own makeup line, Entitled Beauty and it’s a mineral base brand so it doesn’t cause me to break out when I’m out in the sun sweating. The last thing you want to feel is the makeup dripping down your face and with Entitled Beauty the makeup feels weightless and it’s breathable. My pores are not getting as clogged and it’s not irritating my skin.
I posted a picture of myself on Instagram and Twitter and I received so many great compliments asking about my makeup so I thought I would share what makeup I had on. I didn’t take the best pictures of myself so excuse the quality but hopefully you can see what my beach day makeup look was. I was at the beach all day and evening as you can tell in the video.
