Connecticut Makeup Artist Get’s John Legend Ready For NBA All Star

Whenever I share with my clients that I will be working the NBA All Star Weekend I always get asked the same question, “You Put Makeup On The Ball Players”? But there is so much more to being the Key Makeup Artist for the NBA during All Star Weekend. Friday through Sunday I have a lot of talents (music artists, hosts, dancers, & players) scheduled for makeup before going on television. One of my favorite talents and someone I worked with before at Sundance Film Festival was John Legend.  John Legend and his dancers were all scheduled to receive makeup on Sunday. I always enjoy creating a makeup look for the dancers so that they could all be consistent with their fashion.

The reason why I selected to share what products I used on John Legend is because so many ask how do you groom a man for television. With John Legend already having consistently even skin, he was easy to work with. My only concern was to hide his dark circles so that he would not look restless on camera. Whenever I’m working and doing a live show, I have know that the products I use will be reliable and give me the finish that I want.

I’m About To Try Rodan & Fields Skincare For The First Time

Yesterday I met with one of my clients, Amy Wendland Schmidt from Ridgefield, CT and she wanted to introduced me to a brand that I wasn’t really familiar with. A few times when doing her makeup she chatted with me about Rodan & Fields products. She is definitely a fan of the brand. If I have ever done your makeup you know how important prepping the skin with great skin care products is to me. My thing is if you don’t practice great skin care then you will not achieve a flawless makeup look regardless of how expensive the makeup is. I’ve been blessed to have radiant skin and I look youthful but I do have skin concerns. My challenge is large pores & dark circles so I look forward to seeing the results.

A Snow Day Is Perfect For Pampering Your Skin

I’m giving myself a spa experience today by immersing my skin into a bevy of different skin nurturing items. It doesn’t matter if it’s from a drugstore, beauty store, or your dermatologist, I always tell my clients to love your skin by caring for it. Makeup Monday Is All About Great Skincare

Everyone is always talk about getting that flawless beat face. Well, you can’t achieve that if you don’t use skincare. This month my skincare of choice at Whip Salon is from First Aid Beauty. You can see FAB being featured in this month Glamour & In Style magazine.

I selected FAB for the month for a few reasons. It’s simple yet effective, it deliver immediate relief & it’s great for sensitive skin.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir Limited Edition Jason Wu Bottle Design

When Carmen Wild, brand rep for Caudalie gifted me with this gorgeous bottle of Beauty Elixir, I DIE! The founder of Caudalie, Mathilde Thomas partnered with designer Jason Wu to create this limited edition bottle. The bottle embodies modern femininity. It’s dressed in a meticulous, detailed lace from Jason Wu 2016 spring/summer collection topped with a light gold hardware that mimic the hardware in Jason’s accessories.

Why,  is this my favorite setting spray ? First, it’s  natural, versatile mist that can be applied morning and evening as a pore tightening toner after cleansing. I love to spray my makeup brushes with it before using them on each of my clients. During a makeup application I use it before foundation and powder to set the makeup.
