On July 26th I went to Donna Karan office on 7th Ave to do the makeup for The New York Post, Page Six Magazine photo shoot. It was an honor to do makeup on the ladies who work at Donna Karan design house. When I found out later that day it was going to be in Page Six I was elated because I grew up reading that column and have always wanted to be in it. Kristen Fleming did a great article on some of the talented people who work behind the scene called “Behind The Seams”.

Donna Karan’s empire on Seventh Avenue anchors a frenetic, grimy stretch of the Garment District. But within the whitewashed, winding walls of her flagship office, the atmosphere is all urban zen. A delicate quiet envelopes the workplace, where employees are decked mostly in neutral tones and the requisite black.
Aliza Licht, 37, senior vice president of global communications, adds a splash of color with feminine red heels and a dramatic origami skirt from the label’s 2009 resort collection.
Anyone working for the label encounters a lot of black, Licht says. “But I love red.
And I believe in dressing up every day.”
Felita Harris, 36, in a curve-hugging magenta Donna Karan jersey dress, agrees. “I always feel that women are appropriately dressed when they’re in a dress,” says the global sales senior vice president. “And our jersey dresses make you feel sexy, confident and timeless.”
Although the brand is an anthem of the style of monochromatic New Yorkers, merchandising vice president Nancy Pelton insists that most pieces from her Donna Karan–packed closet fit in well in Milan, where she frequently works. “I’d call my style ‘bohemian luxury,’  ” Pelton says.
For Licht, who spends days meeting with celebrity handlers and editors, dressing is a competitive sport. Her daily mantra: “Who’s the lucky outfit going to be today?”
