Wedding Day Blues: Something Borrow Something Blue
As young girls, we grew up hearing “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue.” Well, that something blue will be one of the new trends in 2012 for brides. Bright and bold Cobalt blue will be seen more at weddings in the flowers, bridesmaids’ dresses, brides’ Christian Louboutin shoes and especially stunningly resplendant eye shadows.
At a recent bridal photo shoot, I decided to play with a L’OREAL HIP DUO blue eye shadow named Forgiven that can be used in a more smoky way. Remember when wearing a strong eye, you should keep the lip color very light and I went with NYX Cosmetics Diamond Sparkle lipstick in Beige Sparkle. There are many brands offering various shades of brilliant blue eyeshadows to achieve a smoky blue eye on your wedding day. Here’s a cheat sheet to some of my favorite shades of blues that you can select from.

So brides, don’t stress because your something blue doesn’t have to be a family heirloom, a gift from your mom, or a hidden garter anymore. It can be glamxuriously worn down the aisle. What was your something blue on your wedding day?
