New Orleans Bride Magazine Winter Photo Shoot

A beautiful day at the winter bridal photo shoot with New Orleans Bride Magazine. It’s always nice to get requested for any assignment in New Orleans to do makeup since I am not living there full time. And getting to work with Lisa, Theresa, and Erin is always a highlight. I actually enjoyed working with an all female staff on set. There were 6 dress changes and a cover shot. So I changed up the model look a few times using different lip and blush colors. I wanted to keep each makeup look soft, fresh, and perfect for any day bride. Can’t wait to see the finish product.

A Photo Shoot + New York Bride + Anniversary

A Photo Shoot, A Wedding, and A Wedding Anniversary Celebration…I started the morning by doing makeup for The Medical Spa of Baton Rouge with Dr. Tasha Shamlin & Kenyatta Shamlin located at the Towne Center at Cedar Lodge. The talented & great hairstylist Kenneth Grant and his assistant Veronica worked on the hair.  I was excited to work with photographer Sue Ellen Soto from Sweet Arts Studio again. The doctors wanted to update the website and needed new pics for upcoming ads for the spa & salon. I had the honor of working with them for the Making Beauty Ageless campaign.

After the photo shoot I had to dash to get to the Roosevelt Hotel to get to my Bride Andrea Martinez from New York ready. Andie is one of my glam client, she wanted to definitely wow everyone and that she did. Andie dress was stunning and she has the perfect body to wear it. The first time I met the Martinez family last year we clicked right away. From the time I walked in the room they kept the champagne flowing.
The makeup colors that I selected for Andie were; vanilla, gray, silver, and black eye shadows. I lined her eyes with a black cream eyeliner, added a little bronzer on her eyes and I gave her a full set of individual lashes so she could play up the flirty look. On her cheeks I used 2 shades of blush; coral & pink and on her lips I used a nude lip pencil and filled in her entire lip with it. Then added a pink lipstick with a pale pink lip gloss for the high shine. I also filled in her brows with a taupe brow filler and I selected a tan liquid foundation and set it with a medium dark loose powder. On her sister Michelle, her bridesmaid Katrina and her mom I gave them all smoky eyes with lashes as well.

Michelle & Andie Martinez… 2 beautiful sisters

My last client of the evening was a former bride Erica A. Rachel-Skipworth who was in town for her 1-year anniversary. Erica is such a girlie girl, she really enjoy playing dress up and I enjoy doing her makeup everytime. On Erica I selected makeup colors in the champagne and brown family. I love to play up her butter pecan skin so I always stay away from using bold colors on Erica. Sometimes less is more and on Erica, dark makeup would be to heavy on her delicate features.

Glam Makeup for Headshots

using Smashbox Brow Tech on the brows
Yesterday my little cousin had a photo shoot schedule because she needed new pictures for work. Since I was in-town I was able to squeeze in doing her makeup so she could have glam head shots. Because I didn’t have a lot of time to tweeze her brows I used my favorite brow fixer from smashbox. Lesley don’t usually wear a lot of makeup so this was definitely a treat. I gave Lesley my glam makeup version of head shots pictures.
Check out both Lesley & I were wearing our favorite shirts…

@marcyblum @delposto @laicale  Dreams really do come true in New York. I had the honor to recently work with world-renowned event planner and entertaining expert, Marcy Blum. She was gracious enough to give my makeup artistry a try at her photo shoot for Del Posto Restaurant. I was so excited when I received an email from her company. Bridal Photo Shoot

So excited about today BRIDAL photo shoot. I think I over packed as usual with the makeup. I brought so much glitter, shimmer, lashes in gloss with me. This time I am serious “Do Not Let ME Buy Anymore Makeup”. I had so much stuff at home in makeup kits that I forgot all about. When I was packing my kit last night I found stuff that I have not used since I closed my makeup studio. I was like a newbie makeup artist first time going to a MAC or SEPHORA store in my own house just going through my personal stash. Crazy right?

The goal is to do 3-4 bridal makeup looks today. Because we are shooting in the studio all day we should be ok in not have to worry about weather. I will try to take as many behind the scene pics for you guys in tweet them with cool GLAM-A-GRAM as we go.

Ok guys, got gotta to work…
