Now that makeup has been airbrushed on with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics the model is waiting for hair. As she’s wait patiently for hair I’m cleaning my tools so I can be ready for makeup look 2. The first look is all about the bright yummy pink lips from OCC. It’s a new lip tar call Yaoi, an obnoxious true fuchsia metallic shade. On her eyes, I sprayed her with OCC loose colour pigment in Clove, a champagne shimmer. The model was channeling the iconic and fabulous music artist Jody Watley from the 80’s with her beautiful head of natural hair. So I gave the model a very strong dark brows that Jody use to rock back in the days.  I was out of my favorite Urban Decay lashes in Black Velvet so I used the Baby Doll strip lashes on her. The rest of her face is all about strong highlighting & contouring. Once hair is done, I’ll probably tweak her makeup a little more. For now it’s all about GLAMXURIOUS!!!!

Connecticut Celebrity Makeup Artist Glam The Ladies On The View

As everyone know Sherri Shepherd is a wig lover and finally she shared her love with The View audience and fans. I was honor to work on the models some months back when she launched her collection with Tabitha Coffey and Daisy Fuentes for LUXHAIR.

Sherri collection consist of 11 synthetic styles in different length and shades. She has short styles for conservative woman and long flirty curls for the siren. I had the pleasure of being asked to key the segment for the 5 models. I brought in my bestie Tiffany to assist me with executing the looks. Because it is a daytime talk show I wanted the ladies to look naturally pretty and not to over the top with makeup. Can you believe I didn’t use eye lashes and/ or strips. I wanted the ladies makeup to look polish like The View target audience.
My makeup of choice was 99.5 % from L’OREAL Paris USA. I used between the True Match & True Match Lumi Foundation. I did slightly dust them with Make Up For Ever HD powder. On the eyes I used a mix of HIP eye shadows & Infallible 24hr eyes shadow and eye liner. I lightly dust their cheeks with Stila cosmetics custom color blush and L’OREAL Paris True Match Powder Blush. On the lips I opt for L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche lipsticks and leGloss. So who said beauty has to be so expensive.
Here are fun backstage pictures of me getting some of the models makeup for TV and the actually video of Sherri Wig Line.

The Makeup Room for MTV 10 On Top: Most Stylin’ Stars Of The Year

While everybody was trying to figure out which of their favorite stars were going to make MTV list. I was backstage working on the makeup looks with my fab team. Elated that MTV Networks called me back to create a makeup look for their first fashion show. I had to create makeup looks for Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola from MTV Jersey Shore, Actress Molly Tarlov from MTV Awkward, Blogger GabiFresh, Musicain Elaine Bradlet from music group Neon Trees, and 22 models who are also fans of MTV 10 On Top TV Show.

I wanted to keep the models’ faces fresh, youthful, and effortless with the makeup. For each talent, I gave them a personal glam look. For Sammi, I gave her metallic smokey eyes, a nude lip, and illuminated her skin then topped it off with bronzer, her personal favorite. On Molly, I also kept her eyes smokey but I added a little golden shimmer to make her eyes pop. I used a light pink lipstick on her lips to keep her makeup soft and playful. On Elaine, I wanted to play up her rocker persona. She’s confident, cool, and hip that translated into giving her sultry eyes. All of the talents and models were treated to flirty mink like lashes from Urban Decay called Black Velvet. Urban Decay lashes are a must for makeup artists and ladies who love flirty lashes. On my last face GabiFresh, I wanted her to look trendy and current. The bold pink lips, and bronzed skin was more her personality so I played with more color on her.

When selecting makeup products I used Stila Cosmetics HD Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer, L’OREAL Paris Infallible eye shadows and Colour Caresse by Colour Riche Lipstick. Of course her lashes, I never go anywhere without Urban Decay lashes.

The show aired on Sunday night and for anyone that didn’t hear, Rihanna claims the leading spot for MTV “10 On Top” music and fashion review.

http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js_uacct = “UA-3446372-1”; urchinTracker();

Like many Tri-State residents my week was filled with #Sandy challenges, a tree in my home, no power, no heat, and eating like we are on a camping trip. All my assignments were cancel so when I got a call to work with Jade I was thrill. It felt so good to pick up my makeup brushes again and create something glamxurious. The team consist of hair stylist Eric Williams from Top 5 Management, wardrobe stylist Keltoum Mazid, and photographer Sarah McColgan. We shot at Sarah glam studio in New Jersey so I left Danbury, CT at 6:45am. The car picked us up at Jade apartment at 10:30am. The rest was history!

Stila Cosmetics HD Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer

High Definition makeup has become the new trend in the beauty industry with makeup lovers. Not sure if many woman really understand why they are buying it but they know along with BB cream they must have it. Last month Stila cosmetics came out with 16 shades of HD foundation and I must say, it’s EVERYTHING! They did very well with producing shades that will work on all skin tones. I have been using it on assignments and my talent skin always look flawless on television. I actually like the look better than airbrush makeup. So many reasons why I’m a fan of this product, one being that it comes with a full coverage concealer that is inside of the cap. No more guessing what shade of concealer to purchase and carrying extra products. The concealer cover dark circles and blemishes very well. Both the foundation and concealer has a creamy texture that is oil free and gives a flawless full coverage finish that last all day. Even though it comes with a mini foundation brush, I like using my fingers and a damp beauty blender for a natural finish.

I do like that it looks amazing on someone who doesn’t wear much makeup if applied very light and with Stila Beauty Balm. If your a makeup junkie and/or makeup artist check out Stila HD Foundation and Concealer. It’s definitely worth having in your makeup case.

Makeup Secrets: My Favorite Beauty Tips I Use On Set

Earlier this month on my way to Vermont I had a great time chatting with Kerri, Editor of GalTime about some of my favorite beauty secrets. Every makeup artists have their own personal beauty secret they use on set to help make their job easy. I shared with GalTime, 3 of mines. Here is one and read what my other two  beauty secrets are on GalTime. I hope you love them, maybe your be able to use them on yourself.
We all have a beauty “trick” or two that we can’t live without.
Maybe your favorite hand lotion doubles as a flyaway tamer, or you use clear mascara to tame unruly brows. (I like using clear makeup primer on the backs of my hands. It minimizes pores and fine lines, making them look younger!)
Here are three more red-carpet tested, insider “secrets” to call your own, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
Don’t Sweat It: Who needs blotting papers when you have recycled brown napkins? Gomez-Duplessis never leaves home without them.
“When I lived in New Orleans and worked outside on set, I needed something that was going to absorb the sweat/oil on my clients’ faces. I didn’t want to keep adding loose, translucent powder every five minutes, and blotting sheets weren’t working against the humid weather. These napkins are free and won’t irritate sensitive skin.”
