Kicking It 80’s Style on Saturday Night

My eyes, neck, and wrist was blinging all night. Had to have security with me, lol.
Saturday night I had a blast attending the fabulous hairstylist Melissa Paldino b-day celebration at The Culture Club Danceclub in New York. Since the theme was my all time favorite music era, 80’s I wanted to at least have fun playing dress up with my outfit and makeup. I love to mix vintage with an expensive splurge and of course my bling.  My hubby rocked an burgundy Adidas sweatsuit and blanco sneakers. 
A great time was had…HAPPY B-DAY MELISSA!

Mundane Monday: Glam Life Of A Makeup Artist

A light off day: answering phone calls, booking assignments, and doing a phone interview
(L’OREAL Paris, Magaschoni, MTV, STILA Cosmetics,  The Patch, The Center for  Discovery)
My day does not always consist of me drinking champagne, having car service pick me up and doing makeup on celebrities. On my off days I spend a lot of time with the phone at my ear, responding to lots of emails and updating my blog. A beautiful Connecticut spring day like today I sit at desk for hours doing just that. Another reason why I want a manager to help with numerous phone calls and negotiations. I am so excited about the upcoming assignments I have coming up especially the one in Catskill, New York.

Get Mad Men Glam With L’OREAL Paris

Saturday morning my day started really early. I left my Connecticut home at 5am so that I could get to Fox and Friends Saturday news station. The station were doing a lifestyle segment around the dramatic award winning series Mad Men, airing a special 2 hour season premiere tonight on AMC. Mad Men is set in the 1960’s and it showcase the life of 1960’s America and it’s historical fashion style. L’OREAL Paris Pro Team was asked to come in to glam up the talents for the morning segment to give them a timeless makeover.

After we wrap at 9am, Melissa and I were told that both cars were outside to take us home. But I had another gig at 11am at BiBi Salon NYC in Harlem with Tia Williams  for a Shake Your Beauty segment I had them drop me off there. Since I was early I was able to grab a bite to eat before starting round 2.

BEAUTY: New Shade Of Pink For Spring

Today I was feeling a little mischievous and wanted to know what would happen if I mixed my two favorite pink lip items together. I am either walking around nude or pink…on my lips. Being a PINK LADY, I am looking for a new lip color for spring so I decided to mix my favorite two items together. L’OREAL PARIS Project Runway Audacious Amazon’s Pout #685 and Stila Cosmetics Lip Enamel Luxe Gloss in Giggle.

New Nail Color:Glamxurious For My Glam Girls

Excited that my custom L’OREAL Paris “GLAMXURIOUS” nail polish finally arrived. When deciding on the actual polish that I wanted to do I knew it had to have shimmer with a little pearl iridescent. Of course it had to bling just a little when the light hits it. The color I wanted the base color to look more grey and white because it looks great on all skin tones. I can’t wait to rock my custom polish.

Arriving to Orlando Florida to work NBA All Star Weekend

I headed out to work NBA All Star Weekend 2012 on Thursday morning. Car picked me up from the airport, checked into the hotel, unpacked and I headed downstairs to grab a bite and of course order one of my favorites; a margarita. Maisha, head of hair for NBA All Stars met me in the lobby along with one of her girls, Falon. 
Keenan Towns stop by and invited us to CIROC & Crown Royal “Ball So Hard” party one of the many parties that would take place that weekend. Such a gentlemen he brings me over a special Jose Cuervo margarita that he asked the bartender to make for me. Being that I am a tequila and champagne connoisseur that was definitely a top shelf drink..luved it. 

On a Thursday afternoon the Grand Bohemian Hotel had a DJ outside the hotel kicking off NBA All Star Weekend. I luved it, the energy reminded me of being in New Orleans for Essence Music Festival. A proper way to greet the hotel guest as they arrive, all they needed now was two BA’s holding trays of champagne.

We walked over to the Amway Arena to pick up our credentials and to do a walk through of the makeup & hair room. Making sure that we had enough stations and lighting. Perfect timing because they were just setting the room up with everything that we would need for the weekend. Including lots of snacks and drinks to keep us energized for three long days. 

After the walk through and talking with the girls in production about the daily run down I went to watch the rehearsal and to see my babies; NBA Fan Patrol. On stage was Ne-yo and Chris Brown so I was able to watch them and to meet Pitbull dancers. Very sexy girls and was now able to visualize the makeup look that I would do for this halftime show. Nayer wasn’t there so I didn’t get to meet her but I already knew the makeup look that I wanted to do on her. After rehearsal we left to enjoy Orlando.

Edwing D’ Angelo Fashion Show at Couture Fashion Week:

I was invited to attend Edwing D’ Angelo fashion show during Couture Fashion Week New York. The event was held at the Waldorf Astoria one of my favorite hotels. The event was hosted by Carla Facciolo from the reality show Mob Wives and co-hosted by Chyna Layne.

The event started with a red carpet and reception then a general reception follow by the fashion show. The VIP after party was held in the President Suite.

I only saw a few faces that I recognized on the elevator with me was Carla, Emily B, and Royce Reed.

Mom’s Strut: Fashionable Mom Fashion Show during Fashion Week

Tomorrow morning at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I am excited by being one of the many makeup artists doing makeup at The 1st Annual Fashionable Mom showing at Lincoln Center. The fashion show will be hosted by Supermodel Iman who is also a super mom. I was on-board as soon as I heard the title being a mom of two myself (a 19 year old daughter & 14 year old son) it was just a great way to pamper real mother’s. If anyone I understand how hard it is to be career woman who travel due to work, be a supported wife and a great mom. Remember how crazy last year was for me when I was living and working in New York and trying to be a parent and wife with my family being in New Orleans. Plus maintain our summer home in Florida. Now how I did it, hubby and I just did it, without a nanny, sitter, or personal assistants but with the help of Skype.

There will be a LIVE Twitter Party that will give up-to-the-minute updates on everything that is happening behind stage, on the runway and celebrity sightings.
