It’s Aloha Friday And We Talking About Upscale Restaurants In Hawaii

We Fancy Huh…Two luxurious spots in Hawaii we can’t wait to revisit

Everyone knows that Hawaii is PARADISE! And while the first hotspot that everyone wants to visit in Oahu is Waikiki, the girls have two other upscale beach life locations that tickle their fancy.

For Aloha Friday we always like to spotlight local businesses in Hawaii that we love to visit. Sometimes, we spotlight places that tourists may not know about and sometimes we will. We’re just two girls from the mainland who is lucky to live in Hawaii.

Co-Host Julia Rebolo is a fan of “Orchids”located inside of Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu, and Co-Host Brandy Gomez-Duplessis is obsessed with Monkey Pod Kitchen on the west side in Ko Olina.

So once you get to Hawaii, definitely add these two restaurants to your list of luxurious dining to visit.

Hawaii Lifestyle Blogger Ask What’s The Correct FaceTime Etiquette

img_0685Alright guys, I have a question for you. Do you just call your friends/associates at anytime on FaceTime or SKYPE?

With majority of the world being LAID OFF or FURLOUGH we’re home and available to talk all day and night. No more excuses of I’M BUSY or I’M WORKING. You can barely get away with I was busy…yeah right, busy wiping down the food you just got from the store. So, friends and associates think it’s ok to just randomly FaceTime since SKYPE and Zoom video conferencing is all the rave.

But, I don’t agree with that. I don’t know if it’s just that I’m old school and we don’t play that but you should never FaceTime a person without giving them heads up. I’m like this with people who just randomly pop up and knocking on my door. I have left many people outside knocking and ringing my bell because they just showed up and then showed up with an entourage, OH HELL NO!!!

I strongly feel the same way with Face timing me. Just because you see my light on in Facebook or Instagram that don’t mean I’m wanna talk or better I want to Facetime with anyone right now.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my friends and like my associates, but you have to still be respectful. I might not be in a good mood, might be having personal things going on in my home, or better I might be having couple time, shit. Yes, I want to see your faces and I want to love on you but it’s at my TIME!

If you know me, then you know I have a lot of rules. If we are talking on the phone, I want ALL OF YOUR ATTENTION. I don’t want to see your cute kids, your cats or dogs, I don’t want to say Hi to whomever is at your house. Another rule of mine is, don’t you dare call me and then you take your phone with you while you go to the bathroom. Cuz, I’m now hanging up and you’re no longer able to FaceTime with me ever. #PERIOD

The only thing I wanna see in your surroundings is a bottle of bubbly’s that’s it.

So, I would love to know your FaceTime Phone Etiquette.

What Item Do You Get Excited About Scoring During The Coronavirus Pandemic

Eimg_0401very time my husband or my son leaves our beach house to go to the store I’m always reminding them to check for LYSOLDisinfecting Wipes, Sprays or any kind of cleaning products they can find.

During the pandemic besides lots of alcohol, and David’s sunflower seeds, LYSOL cleaning products is always on my list.

Because of my health (Lupus, RA, Asthma and Hypertension) I don’t leave the house. I have been in this house now for 45 days and I don’t plan to leave until it’s safe. I don’t even chance walking to the beach, nada. I get my fresh air by having the Lanai doors open while I’m sitting on the living room sofa.

So, when the guys come home they strip in the laundry room, shoes off and clothes in the wash, then they dash off upstairs. And like a crazy woman, I follow wiping down anything that they could have touched along the way. I probably have the cleanest floors in the world because I also wipe them down daily with my LYSOL wipes. I go through these wipes because I’m so afraid of bringing germs in the house.

When they come back from the store, I take one item at at time and I’m wiping down each box, or meat, or bags before it goes in my refrigerator or my kitchen cabinet. Here in Hawaii we bring our own bags so I spray them down with Lysol and let them air dry in the laundry room. Before being quarantine, I kept a container of Lysol in my car, in the kitchen, in the laundry room and each bathroom has a container. I was always a person that was scared of getting any virus, again because of my health, so I’m use to living in a bubble. Now…it’s out of control. I find myself still picking up germs from my family and I have many horrible flare up’s and have been using Albuterol more now since then ever. So, I can never run out of LYSOL, this is why it’s a big deal for me to always have.

What do you get excited about scoring from the store?

A Great Evening At Paradise Cove Luau In Hawaii

img_5001Today was a little windy here in Hawaii and we had reservations to attend Paradise Cove Luau in Ko’Olina. Since it’s been hard to schedule an evening out with all of our crazy work and school schedule we decided to still go and see this beautiful 12 oceanfront acres establishment.

The evening was filled with lots of drinking, activities, games, Hawaiian music dance and food. Ended with a beautiful sunset that can be seen throughout the acres. Here are pics of a great evening, I’m glad that we decided to still go and I’m glad I was smart enough to bring a jacket…sorry lungs (bronchitis).

Enjoying My Belgian Waffle From Aloha Gelato in Hawaii

img_4461Since moving to Hawaii I have always been looking for one of my favorite snacks. In New York, I would go to the Wafels & Dinges Waffle Truck, sometimes 4-5 times a week. Besides seafood, finding a place where I can get a delicious Belgian waffle and Krispy Kreme doughnuts was all I asked for living here in Hawaii.

While walking around the Ala Moana Center, I found the Aloha Gelato. They serve Gelato, Sorbet, Ice Cream, Crepe and Waffles. Everything I Like! I saw a picture of a Belgian Waffle and I got excited. I knew I just hit the jackpot. I’m praying that they taste just as good as the ones I use to get in New York. I order the works, I got Nutella, caramel and chocolate sauce, strawberries and I asked for whipped cream but they forgot to add it. They offer a small scoop of ice cream, that’s different but definitely a great idea. My only suggestions is that they warm the waffle so it helps to melt the sauces, plus it taste so much better when the waffle is hot, soft and chewy.

Do you have a favorite snack that you obsess over? Please share.

The Beautiful Nu’Uanu Pali Lookout In Oahu Hawaii

img_3659Today we found a new historical gem to visit in Hawaii. It’s a beautiful landmark with the best scenic spot and panoramic views that is so breathtaking. The spot I’m speaking about is Nu’Uanu Pali Lookout. The Pali Highway is between Honolulu and Kailua so basically 30 mins from Waikiki. There’s no entry fee but you do have to pay $3 to park your car.

As we drove there the views of the lush Windward Coast the Koolau cliffs are fantastic. The gorgeous tall trees and dense forests to the lookout is unreal. To be so close that you think you can touch it but really not. This is what I dreamed of Hawaii to look like. The natural beauty of the mountains being covered by the clouds and the stone terrace is all just so gorgeous.

So the history is a violent one, this beautiful spot was once a bloody battlefield where hundreds of soldiers died with many being forced off the Pali cliffs. Because of it’s history it’s said that the Lookout receives around 90,000 visitors a day. It’s definitely a spot to visit if you’re traveling to Hawaii. It’s a quick stop to learn about especially if your a history lover. See for yourself below.

Wearing Entitled Beauty Makeup While Traveling Kept Getting Me Stopped

img_2775While traveling for Entitled Beautymy makeup line, I kept getting stopped by women inquiring what makeup I was wearing. I wear something from Entitled Beauty everyday but I have never received this type of response like this before. It was a proud moment to say, I’m a Co-Founder and not hype up another brand.

Today, women all over in different cities were obsessing over Entitled Beauty. This is what keeps me going hard because of the reactions on the plane, the airport, at meetings, etc. If more people could see how amazing my makeup line is they too will fall in love with it.

Let me show you what I was wearing, you got about 10 mins to spare? Maybe you’ll see something for yourself, a sibling, a friend, a co-worker who is a makeup addict like myself. So after a few glasses, I’ll be ready to fill all the orders that came in today

Thanks for watching them and I hope this Holiday Season you will give my makeup line Entitled Beauty a try. If you have anyone in your life that has Lupus, I made a purple liquid lipstick shade called, Queen B. I’m sure they would appreciate receiving Queen B, made by another Lupus Warrior. Because of my Lupus is the reason why I moved to Hawaii. And I have been doing 100% better. I took myself off the Prednisone, Meloxicam, Gabapentin and the Nebulizer.

So this Holiday Season, I have so much to be thankful for.

Do You Love Those Beautiful Store Windows At Ala Moana Center In Hawaii

img_2725-1When I was a young girl one of my favorite thing to do was to go the city to look at the department stores windows in New York. For hours, I would just put myself in the story that the Art Director was sharing with us. As I got older I found myself still flirting with that same obsessions. During Christmas seasons my family would join me walking down 5th Ave while sipping on hot chocolate admiring all the magical annual holiday windows. Each window were more spectacular than the other.

I find myself still crushing over stores windows here in Hawaii at the Ala Moana Center. This year I won’t have a White Winter Wonderland but at least I’ll get to enjoy beautiful fashion.
