On Saturday I was invited to attend CT Blogger Social Media Meetup at VOVO Organics in New Haven. I was so excited to finally attend one of the meetings. Being that the meetings always take place on Saturday it’s usually hard for me to attend because it’s my most busy day. So I called up my gal pal the fabulous Ilse from Live Learn Luxe It because I thought this would be a great networking event for her to attend. If you have not seen her blog then you need to check her out. Be prepared to be there for hours, I promise she’s FABULOUS!
Wendy and Bonnie did a great job hosting the event and they offered light snacks and wine while the owner Christina offered everyone a complimentary gift bag with a full size bottle of Almond Blossom Skin Oil. With some many great items I made a purchase of Organic Castor Oil & Put The Lime In The Kokonut Body Spray.
I definitely will be visiting VOVO Organics Bath & Body store again as soon as it warm up. Christina shared with us that she just added two new additions to her space; A Tea Barwhich provides an array of imported exotic teas from around the world and The Foot Spa to provide a relaxing and healthy foot soak using their exclusive imported Cape Verde sea salt.
Everyone who attend were all Connecticut Bloggers check out there sites here.
Today I’m headed to Harlem Fashion Row Shop, Brunch, and Be Social for New York Fashion Week at MIST Harlem. I’m such a fan of the CEO & Founder, Brandice Daniel. When I moved to Harlem in October 2010 Brandice and I were neighbors living one block from each other. After chatting about our passion for NYFW we got together and worked on a shoot with designers Sammy B & Kiki Kitty Doll. I was also introduced that day to a talented photographer name Rog Walker.
This year I was so elated to be able to attend Brandice brunch. I knew I could not miss any of her events this year. Being that last year I was not able to attend anything due to my lupus & lyme being very active.
I gathered up my Barbarella’s Annya & Kassie and we headed out to the city to Shop, Brunch, and be Social to support the designers of color in the fashion industry that would not be featured at New York Fashion Week.
Colgate Optic White toothpaste were one of the sponsors for Harlem Fashion Row Brunch
Nice to be around Women In Business-BossLadies…always good to see Kim Roxie with Lamik Beauty. Luv her!
It’s always nice to see Sammy B and her fashion grow in this industry. I’ve been able to see her at different time in her career with the last time on set during Lifetime TV Show Project Runway
So we are toasting to Annya booking her first fashion show during Fashion Week. I chatted with my girl Kim from Lamik Beauty and asked if she could squeeze in Annya to do makeup at Sammy B show and Kim said Yes!
At the end of today’s successful event I was able to chat with Brandice again about getting together again like the old days…Brandice I’m here to tell you, your a Black woman who ROCKS! #HarlemsFashionRow
