Glam Makeup Looks That I Created At Sephora

img_3123

The favorite part of my job is making women happy and feeling good about themselves. Last weekend each girl booked me to give them a glamxurious makeup look for their special events. With each of the girls I gave them all a custom makeup look. Only a few beauty items I duplicated but overall I used different products. Being at Sephora I have so many goodies to choose from that it’s a makeup artist dream job. Here is a list of items that I used, I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things. Hope you see something that you can use for your next glam makeup look.

Do You Like Wearing A Pop Of Blue Eye Liner

Trying on a lil pop of color…BLUE

With one of the new Pantone Color Of The Year being Serenity, I thought I would try adding a pop of blue on my eyes using a blue eye liner. Serenity is more of a baby blue, I didn’t like the way it looked on my eye lid so I decided to try it on my lower eyes. Here are a four blue eye shadow/liner that I will be trying out.

What’s Your Golden Globes Must Have Makeup Item

If I had to pick one beauty product to have in my makeup kit today for the Golden Globes Awards it would have to be L’OREAL Paris Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray. After giving my client a glamxurious makeup look I would want her makeup to stay fresh for hours while on the red carpet and during the award show. The setting spray will keep the makeup from smudging and settling into fine lines. With all those paparazzi around who need that nightmare of bad makeup.

What’s your must have makeup item if you were attending the Golden Globes?

Skincare Goodies For Women In Their 40’s

Makeup Artist and Beauty Blogger Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
Everyone has their guide books and TV shows to get them through their life, so I thought I’ll write a post on skincare products I use to maintain my youthfulness. I always get carded because I don’t look my age. When I’m with my 23 and my 18 year old they think I’m their sister. I joke that the lupus has stopped me from aging, making me the black female Benjamin Button, lol. So if it’s not the lupus that’s stopping my age process then maybe it’s really all the expensive skincare products I slather on my face morning and night. I’m happy to share with you my skincare cocktails that I used daily on my mature skin to achieve my baby skin. Hopefully, one of these products will help you with anti-aging.

Right now these are the following products I have been using.

Its always an honor when peers especially the younger ones reach out to me with consideration of featuring me on their blog. It’s a great way to introduce myself and my makeup artistry to the younger audience who is not aware of all the cool assignments I’ve done before Instagram and other social media pages. I luv the fact that Christine from The Sista Circle did her homework on me, it’s always nice to reminisce, I must say I had a great run. Check out the interview here and yes I did have that moment with actor Paul Rudd, lol.

My Favorite Blur Primers For Instant Smooth Skin

Connecticut Makeup Artist and Sephora Beauty Studio Coordinator Brandy Gomez-Duplessis makeup look at Donna Karan Market Week.jpg-originalEverybody love to look photo-shop in their pictures but what about days your not taking pictures. I know for me I have a challenge with skin texture. Because my entire face is covered with moles I like to look like I have a flawless complexion. So my must have to achieving that look is Blur Primer.

The great thing about blur primers is that it can be used on all ages, all skin tones, and on both men and women. When I’m on set especially working with men, brides, and photo shoots, I always prep with a blur primer. It gives such a smooth texture covering skin bumps, fine lines, and minimizes the appearances of large pores.

Blur primer is a lightweight non greasy product that feels silky to the skin leaving you with an instant smooth skin. Here are my favorite blur’s I like to use personally and on my clients.

  1. Lancome Visionnaire 1-Minute Blur
  2. L’OREAL Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur
  3. NudeStix Pencil Blur
  4. Philosophy Instant Miracle Worker Line Erasing Blur Stick
  5. YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector

Celebrity Makeup Artist & Beauty Expert Brandy Gomez-Duplessis quick tips for you to glam up your makeup this holiday season:

  1. Eye glitter: Glitter on the eyes always makes a girl smile. It’s like diamonds for the eyes. This fun makeup item can be used at the bottom of the eyes or in the inner corners. These sparkles will leave you feeling so glamorous.
  2. Lips: The holidays are a perfect time to wear Cherry Bomb lip color. It’s especially great when you want to stand out. Don’t forget to buy it in a lip stain or a long-wearing formula to keep up this delicious look.

  3. Lashes: Lashes are always a girl’s best friend. With great holiday choices (strip or individual), they are a must-have item that will make you feel sexy and look seductive. It’s an excuse to flirt a little more.
  4. Eye shadow: Metallic eye shadows are perfect if you choose to go with a smoky eye. Silver metallic eye shadow on the inner corners of the eyes and dark metallic in the outer corner and crease is always smokin’.
  5. Face: A highlighter on the face can be very sexy when applied on the cheeks. It’s a very simple and easy product that can also be used on the décolleté for a subtle glam effect.
