Yesterday the power went out so I didn’t make a big deal about it because we were having a storm up here in Connecticut so I figure the power would be going In & Out all night. Since it was dark out I wasn’t going to go check nada out. This morning as we all headed out to work this is what we were greeted by. Seeing this I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy situation and lord knows it wasn’t. I’m just glad that our tree didn’t hit the neighbors truck.
On Sunday I had such an glamxurious day with my crew Ilse & Johnny. It was all about beauty and fashion and when we get together for a fabulous day together we like to spend it at our favorite hotel, Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury, CT. A few bottles of Mionetto Prosecco and Itz Spritz with a sexy playlist our Sunday was grand.
After a fancy day of taking selfies because that’s what bloggers do we decided to place a room service order but my Libra self was not ready to go up to the room so we ate downstairs by the fireplace. This way we were able to continue with taking fab pics of ourselves. We really luv it here at Hotel Zero Degrees and the staff is always so accommodating to me.
The lights in Hotel Zero Degrees is the best especially in the bathroom. It’s so bright and the space size in their batroom is great, Now this is a bathroom you wouldn’t mind hanging out in.
Today I’m not doing anything, I’m going to flaunt around the house like I do and just enjoying myself. Since I have no plans on leaving the house I’m going to just relax, snack, drink wine and nap. I have a busy week ahead starting with 3 appointments early tomorrow morning. And one more appointment on Tuesday but that one is going to be easy breeze. I haven’t been having any heart problems and it’s not time to do another EKG so I’ll be out in 10 mins. But as soon as I walk out of tomorrow appointment I cannot wait to take my meds for all these body pains. I was told that I couldn’t take anything for 3 days prior to my Monday appointments so I’m feeling everything so wine is definitely needed until then. How did you spend your Sunday?
I always enjoy attending social events, this time I didn’t have to go far. As they say, it was right in my own back yard…3 mins away. I was invited by Randy to attend “Break Out The Bubble” Ribbon Cutting & VIP Reception for the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut.
The Regional YMCA were celebrating the opening of the 15,500 sq ft bubble enclosure making the outdoor pool available year-round. The new Youth Development & Aquatics Center building will now consists of new showers, bathrooms, and a lobby. This is perfect for when kids are off during the holidays and parents we want our kids to have activities they could do while home. The aquatics center is something I’m elated about because of my chronic illness this will be a great way to stay healthy.
As you know I never stop working and while at the VIP Reception I had a fun time with JoAnn Cueva the Danbury Chamber Of Commerce Director. So much fun playing with makeup and giving her a personal makeup lesson and What’s In Your Bag service.
As you know by now I like to start my Monday’s with a motivational quote for the week on my Instagram page is; Grow to be a force, everyday this week act like your the CEO. Make yourself accountable, not everyone is a hater and/or jealous.
I started my day with doing brows & makeup on one of my favorite clients cabaret singer Wendy Scherl in Ridgefield, CT. Wendy is performing tonight in New York at the Metropolitan Room. I always enjoy doing her makeup because we have the best conversation ever.
After doing makeup I had a meeting in Stamford, CT to talk about doing a Beauty Happy Hour event next month. I’m so excited about doing this but I know it’s going to be a lot of work planning it.
I had to rush back home to bring my son shopping for school things. He’s going to be a junior in college so he’s half done. Jordan is a biology major, he wants to be a Physican Assistant in the ER.
After mommy duties I had a phone conference with Johnny to go over our upcoming Makeup & Martini’s NYC makeup review video. We also discussed doing a tasting on Saturday in Stamford to go over the menu for my Beauty Happy Hour event.
It’s now 9pm and I need some me time, a date night with myself.
I was so excited about attending the 1st Annual Official CT Bloggers Babe exclusive Brunch at Heirmloom Market in Wethersfield, CT. It’s a influencer event hosted by a popular CT blogger for bloggers. It’s such a needed event for the CT community of bloggers & influencers.
Everything was lovely and the food was delicious. I always enjoy meeting the women I’m following on social media. The best part is it’s always nice to go somewhere and don’t feel ashamed to be a blogger, taking pics of every moment. Look how amazing the brunch was.
Started my day really late, my body was so exhausted from the day before that I stayed in bed as long as my body wanted. I have learned with having an auto immune that you have to let the body rest.
Plus, the kids were not coming home until 7pm so I had all day to go food shopping at Stew Leonards, pick flowers, while getting the deck ready because we had dinner outside. The food was left for Michael so I had an easy job.
So here are pictures of my Fourth Of July. What was your day like?
After spending a glamxurious day in New York with some of the most sophisticated women at The Plaza Hotel eating, enjoying an eclectic playlist of music while sipping on champagne and playing with makeup I ended my evening in Connecticut. I met up with my besties makeup artist Johnny Luoma and Business Sales Specialist at Microsoft Randy for dinner at our favorite restaurant in Danbury, Terra of Danbury inside Hotel Zero Degrees. I luv that they scratch cook their food and the Old & New World Northern Italian dishes is why I enjoy this restaurant. Of course the ambiance and top customer service is always top notch.
Both Johnny and myself have really busy Saturday’s so we always luv to catch up to chat makeup, hair, & fashion. We are both slated at two luxurious upscale salons in Greenwich, CT so after work we met up at our favorite place, Terra Danbury inside Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury. The weather was perfect for spending time out on the patio enjoy their patio cocktails. A perfect hangout for adults who just want to enjoy a late afternoon out. We enjoy coming here because the staff always give such great service and their drinks and food is always delectable. You know I’m very selective about where I spend my personal time. They have been able to capture that posh aura that I get when I’m in the city.
I order the FOREST FLOOR and Johnny order the DANBURY SOCIAL. Both drinks were very mouthwatering that we ordered a few on that evening.
The birthday boy selected the Brownie Milkshake
Today is my son Jordan 20th Birthday and like any mother he’s still my baby. Jordan is not big on making a big fuss so I knew he would not want a cake so I had to think of something that was simple yet FABULOUS. One of Jordan favorite place to go to is Black Tap Craft in New York because he luv their burgers and crazy milkshakes but because we were on limited time I needed something just as fab in Connecticut. After doing my research I found Cream & Sugar Cafe in Bethel, CT just 19 mins from the house. After his sister and I picked him up from work we headed over to Cream & Sugar Cafe. Once he walked in he smiled like a little kid. Jordan has a sweet tooth like his mama and he luvs ice-cream so I knew he would enjoy being here. While eating he opened his gifts with the family.
Cream & Sugar Cafe was exactly what I thought it would be. Cute location, family oriented with a young friendly staff. After looking at the pictures on the wall and reviewing the menu we all knew exactly what milkshakes we wanted. I wish I was prepared to eat but now we know that we must not come on an empty stomach because after a few bites we were so full. I’m so excited that we found a fun spot for the summer.
Envy got the Peanut Butter Crush Milkshake
Of course I got the WOW one, mine is called Candy Crush Milkshake
