A Big Day For Us Makeup Entrepreneurs

img_4427Another big day to add to my list of special accomplishments in my life. My partner-in-crime Johnny Lumoa and I are heading down to Danbury City Hall Permit Center to finish up the last of the 2 important paperwork we needed for Entitled Beauty.

So elated about this day because we both have been working hard on Entitled Beauty. Starting a business is such a special moment. Yes, I’ve done it before in New Orleans but today I’m still excited about our baby Entitled Beauty. Having Johnny, someone who believes in me and my love for makeup standing next to me as a business partner I know we will be successful.  I wish I knew how to do a back flip but just look at our smiles that should say it all.

It’s OFFICIAL!!! We are legit…we are in it to win it!!!! I hope you give us a try.

To celebrate our big day we went to Brio to grab a few drinks and bites

OH, FYI…my lip color is ANASTASIA, from Entitled Beauty.

Caribbean Posh Hurricane Relief
As they work to re-prioritize their plans it became apart that high priority should be given to helping those in need. Reiterating their commitment to the women empowerment movement they are introducing The Caribbean POSHgirl Project. The goal of this initiative is to provide a new start for women affected by Hurricane Irma and Maria. Your support can make a difference in the lives of so many women.

A Beautiful Fall Saturday In Greenwich, CT

What a beautiful fall day here in Connecticut. Today I have makeup appointments at Warren Tricomi Salon in Greenwich, CT. It’s always nice to see on my appointments sheet that I have  repeat clients coming to see me today.

A lot of the ladies that was coming in were attending the Make A Wish event. I was also schedule to do one of the host of the event so I had to make sure that I give her my glamxurious makeup special look. It’s always nice to be in Greenwich doing makeup on the fabulous ladies that live there. They appreciate professionalism and beautiful makeup artistry.

Whenever I’m in Greenwich, I luv ordering my lunch from The Granola Bar. Their Chicken Chill is to die for and the Natural Sparkling Water from Found is lovely. My obsession is The Elderflower flavor now this is water that I’ll drink everyday if I could afford it.  Ladies, if you add a little Mionetto Prosecco to it, OMG!!!

Power Outage In Connecticut

img_3671

Yesterday the power went out so I didn’t make a big deal about it because we were having a storm up here in Connecticut so I figure the power would be going In & Out all night. Since it was dark out I wasn’t going to go check nada out. This morning as we all headed out to work this is what we were greeted by. Seeing this I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy situation and lord knows it wasn’t. I’m just glad that our tree didn’t hit the neighbors truck.

Today’s Dr Appointments Wasn’t A Glam One

It’s been a day and I’m so glad it’s over my body need a break. I started first by going to do a CT Scan, then off to do the allergy test on my arms and forearms, then over to the CT Sinus Center, ending my appointment doing a Intravenous (IV) infusion therapy. Unfortunately, I have to do a lot of this often, in 10 days I’ll be repeating everything except the allergy test. At least I didn’t have to give blood this week. A lot of driving around today, I’m just glad to be home. How is your Monday going?

*IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH OR HAVE TRYPOPHOBIA DON’T REVIEW THE PICS & VIDEOS BELOW.

Saturday Was Glam But Saturday Night Got Ugly, Auto Immune Problems

A lot of peers always see me when I post pics of myself when I’m doing well but they never understand when I tell them that by the end of the day my body shut down. It’s hard to understand how can someone look amazing then quickly is having a hard time to breathe but it’s my life about 3-4 times a week. I decided to show you how I can go from this img_1931to the videos below. I don’t know if it’s the lupus, the lyme disease, or both but it’s definitely hard on my body. This is why my new lifestyle only allows for me to do one thing and usually work win and takes all my energy that I never have time to party or meet up with girlfriends after work. Not everyone understands and it hurts but when I give in I know I will have it bad for 2-3 days. I usually don’t like to push myself because I never won’t to be able to show up for work. So if you know anyone with an auto-immune or invisible illness please be patience with them.

Featured In This Month “Es Mi Cultura”

esmiculturaIn August I was contacted by Tamika with Es Mi Cultura, a monthly Afro-Latina focused newsletter to be featured in their two year anniversary October issue. So of course I said yes, because I’m always honored when my peers reach out to me.

In September we connected and here is the article for you to read. I hope you take time time to check out the entire newsletter especially if your an Afro-Latina like myself. It’s always good to support and read others who upbringing is very similar to your own. Thanks Tamika!

List Of Things You Will Need To Rebuild After Hurricane Harvey

Residents wait on a roof top to be rescued from the floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans ..Today is the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a day that has changed my life. I feel like a PRO with surviving hurricanes unfortunately. As I’m glued to my television watching CNN and talking to family & friends in Texas I’m hearing they are now doing MANDATORY EVACUATION in certain areas of Houston. Because I have lived through it and have managed to rebuild with some challenges I can share what you will need to move forward. So, if you still have time to gather a few things please be sure to grab the following items to help you with rebuilding.

  • Insurance Papers-Home & Business
  • Birth Certificates & Passports
  • Drivers License
  • Marriage License
  • Social Security Card
  • Taxes
  • Property Records-Home, Cars, Boats
  • Legal Records
  • Medical Papers
  • Shot Records For Kids
  • Kids Report Cards
  • Bills with your mailing address on it
  • Last two month bills -You will need because monthly service companies will lose all of your payment information so they will recharge you for service that you already paid.
  • Business Owners-Contracts for anything you lease/rent
  • Computer & Charger

mold homes

Hurricane Katrina 1

It will just make your life easier if you have these items. Get ready to fight, get ready to be on the phone for days trying to get through to who ever you need to speak with, be ready to stand in lines, be ready to research for yourself, read those last pages of your contracts so you will be ready for companies that will want to fine you / sue you later. Don’t expect that you will be good because you have insurance, know the difference between flood, water, and wind damages, educate yourself. Redcross & FEMA can only provide you a temp fix for a few days-weeks only. Hopefully you took clear pictures of properties in your home because you will need a lot of proof.

Good Luck with everything, stick together, spouses please be patience with each other. Everyone handle stress differently. This is the time that you will need to lean on each other. Men, it’s ok to cry, let it out, don’t be ashamed. Because you all are dealing with emotions that you have never experience. It’s so heartbroken to see others drowning right before your eyes will be something you will never forget. I made that mistake trying to stay strong trying to deal with all the bullshit that I didn’t have time to cry in process what the hell had just happened. Again stick together and talk to your kids because their little minds are in shock especially if they witness bodies. I’m still in shock from seeing dead bodies upon returning home.

I will continue to pray for Texas!

How Do You Deal With Bad Allergy

I know on social media we only suppose to share glam things but this is a part of my glam life. I don’t have allergies but my body ( #lupus ) think I do. All of my sinuses are infected so I always sound congested like I have a damn cold 24/7. Enough is enough, today I’m going to fight this like I have allergies.

What do you do when you’re fighting your allergies? I’m accepting suggestions & tips..
