Makeup: Color Correcting And Contouring On Brown Skin Women

I always get asked when I’m at Sephora from boggie down brown skin clients what do I use to achieve a flawless makeup look. Color correcting is a big thing for me when I’m applying makeup on clients and on myself. On deeper skin women I do a lot of color correcting under the eyes and around the lips. It’s ok to use two shades of foundation especially around the hairline or a medium foundation and a darker powder.

Glam New Year’s Makeup Look With Glitter & Lashes

This is a fun New Year’s Eve makeup look I did 5 years ago with Tia Williams and Essence Magazine for a Shake Your Beauty segment. It’s so funny to see how my makeup artistry has grown since then. But I had such a great time at the Essence magazine office creating this glam New Year’s Eve makeup look that I had to share it with you. Sephora Collection Color Wonderland Eye Shadow Palette Is A Must Have

I’m so excited about trying out this amazing palette of eye shadows from the Sephora Collection called Color Wonderland. I couldn’t agree better with the name. It’s a wonderland palette of colors, highlighters, eye liners and a double sided brush. Don’t sleep on Sephora eye shadows, their full of pigments that I like using wet and/or dry.

My Favorite Blur Primers For Instant Smooth Skin

I know for me I have a challenge with skin texture. Because my entire face is covered with moles I like to look like I have a flawless complexion. So my must have to achieving that look is Blur Primer.

The great thing about blur primers is that it can be used on all ages, all skin tones, and on both men and women. When I’m on set especially working with men, brides, and photo shoots, I always prep with a blur primer. It gives such a smooth texture covering skin bumps, fine lines, and minimizes the appearances of large pores.

Blur primer is a lightweight non greasy product that feels silky to the skin leaving you with an instant smooth skin. Here are my favorite blur’s I like to use personally and on my clients.

Do You Love Gwen Stefani Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette


As many of you makeup lovers and Gwen Stefani fans know that Urban Decay eye shadow palette hit Sephora shelves on yesterday. The 15 shades were all hand selected by Gwen herself. She selected mostly neutral colors because when she’s not working she normally wear a lot of natural shades because she’s not a pro at doing bold makeup looks on herself.

This palette has a mix of matte and shimmers and all of the colors are highly pigmented. My favorite part of the palette is the packaging, it’s very fancy almost Art Deco. As a professional makeup artist I have every one of the colors in other palettes but being that I am a Gwen Stefani fan I would enjoy this palette for myself and on set.
