I’m An Addict for Beauty Addicts Cosmetics

I received a few pieces of makeup from @beautyADDICTS today and I can’t wait to play with them tonight and tomorrow. I met Joseph Mastalia, the President of DEPASQUALE Companies last month at this gorgeous Penthouse in New York. He was very impress with my makeup resume and said he would have someone from beautyADDICTS get in touch with me. He was not joking because the next day I received an email about setting up a meeting. Because of my schedule I have been traveling a lot with work that I have not had time to lock something in last month with them. So today I received some samples of the products, I guess so I can get it in my hands.
I already luv the packaging it reminds me of BURBERRY BEAUTY packaging but BURBERRY BEAUTY is much heavier. So tonight, I’ll play with the eyeshadow, blush, and press powder and will use it on Thursday when I go to New Orleans to do the bridal shoot with New Orleans Bride Magazine. But if I really like it then it may not make it into my makeup kit.

My Glamxurious evening with Glamour Magazine 21st #WOTY

As I got myself hair and makeup ready it did not hit me that I was going to be doing makeup in the L’OREAL Paris green room for Glamour magazine “Women Of The Year” event at Carnegie Hall. I knew the event was going to be very spectacular, adorn with many elegant women looking stunning. So I decided to glam up my makeup and selected the L’OREAL Paris Project Runway makeup collection palette. I styled my hair the way Nate Berkus likes it and of course finishing it off with Elnett Satin hairspray. I choose my Swarovski crystals chandelier earrings I knew they would pop against my yummy hot pink lipstick.

As Tiffany and I enter through the stage door we were greeted by the staff at check in. Lorraine Nunez and Alicia Barone from Glamour magazine allowed for a smooth check in by confirming with us on Friday afternoon. We were given 2 assistants (Stephanie & Remi) to help us through out the evening. I always find it very helpful having personal help at large scale events as such. The green room decor was nicely done very comfortable for the talents to sit, mingle, and eat as they wait to go on stage. My first talent was Barbara Walters who wanted me to touch up her hair because it had falling flat. I used my favorite, Elnett Satin hairspray to give her more volume and touched up her lips to give her a little more pop before going on stage. My last talent of the evening was Jennifer Aniston, she was a blast. I think Jennifer was enjoying herself in the L’OREAL Paris green room with Tiffany and I way to much. Jennifer laughs a lot, she’s real,  someone you would call a bestie, and we talked about everything, but I can’t kiss & tell. Tiffany is always amazed how celebs open up to me and tell me things that reporters would die for.  This is why I am now ready for my reality show because sometimes my life seems unreal even to me, lol. Pink Sneakers productions we can talk again if you like, lol.

Our makeup room was a hit with the ladies that stopped by. I think Diana Sawyer may have stopped in the most to see Tiffany for hair, makeup, and even help with her clothes. The room was glamorous and it felt very intimate, the fresh cut flowers gave it a very soft scent that the ladies felt comfortable. With so many great L’OREAL Paris products surrounding them of course they didn’t want to leave and I didn’t want to see them go.

This room was filled with stunning celebs like: Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Aniston, Marc Jacobs, Lea Michelle, Emma Stone, Tory Burch, Chelsea Handler, Arianna Huffington, Donatlla Versace, Anita Hill, Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters, and many more…INSIDE THE GLAM LIFE OF A MAKEUP ARTIST

Pre Fashion Night Out with Burberry Beauty

It’s 6am, Rain Rain Rain go away. I started my morning by going to the L’OREAL Paris office on 5th Ave to drop off a makeup kit that I used for a L’OREAL Paris assignment that L’OREAL sponsor. I don’t think the ladies arrived to the office just yet so I didn’t get a chance to see any of them or fairy godmother.

Then I headed over to the Clarins office on Park Ave to do a full day of training with John Trau, Director of Education at Burberry Beauty. 5 talented artists was selected and I am honored to say that I am one of them; a Freelance Burberry Makeup Artist. I am so elated about being a part of the first group of Burberry Makeup Artist here in New York.  Tomorrow Burberry Beauty will launch during Fashion Night Out at Saks Fifth Avenue. A perfect time to introduce such a iconic and luxury brand. May of this year I was thrill when asked to do makeup for The English Ball Honoring Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer at Burberry and faith has it that I am now a part of the brand. I really love the quality of the makeup so perfect the effortless elegant woman. I received my gratis and makeup brushes so I will be wearing the product tomorrow. The brand is building so darker shades and more makeup items will gradually be added to the collection soon. They have many amazing items that I promise you will love. So come see for yourself starting tomorrow.

Heading home to pick up my makeup kit so I can meet Lauren Brenner of Pure Power Boot Camp at her home for 8pm. Tonight I’m doing a consultation for her big day later this month. Then my day will be done.

What a fun filled day of doing makeup. I wish that I had time to work the Donna Karan assignment but the ladies all know how I much I luv them over there. Definitely grateful and blessed for my day.

Glam Girl: Asia Jones

Friday night I had the pleasure of doing a makeup application with individual lashes on Asia Jones, a surprise treat from her hubby…how sweet! Asia lives in Gonzalez, Louisiana but she planned a photo shoot and to grab cocktails with BFF after she was done. So I had her meet me at Glam Girl Hair Studio, own by New Orleans hairstylist Erin Carter.

What a great time we had, all was needed was cocktails!!!

Liya Kebede New Face of L’OREAL Paris

words by Connecticut and New York Celebrity L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis

I am so excited that one of my favorite supermodel Liya Kebede has been named a new brand ambassador of L’OREAL Paris. Liya Kebede is an Ethopian model, advocate, clothing designer, and actress. She has graced the US Vogue magazine cover 3 times. Her big break came when Tom Ford asked her for an exclusive contract for GUCCI Fall/Winter 2000 fashion show.

I am blessed to be a L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Artist and had the opportunity to worked with Kerry Washington 2 times. I think if I receive a call from the L’OREAL office to come to the tech room to work with Liya Kebede I would be ecstatic.

Anna Wintour: Iconic Makeup On A Budget

Picture from WSJ
Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis Summer Series: Icons Part 1: Anna Wintour

I LOVE MAKEUP!!! I want to say that first because makeup is not something I do for status. Makeup to me is an art and the gratification comes through the emotional response it invokes.  As a celebrity makeup artist, I have touched some of the most beautiful people, but there have always been those icons who I wish I could makeover. So I thought let’s make it fun and do a makeover series on a budget based on my favorite icons using L’OREAL Paris products.
The most famous respected and powerful woman in the fashion industry is British born Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue. She is a fashion institution and icon who is first on my list. Anna Wintour may occupy the most powerful seat in fashion but not much is known about how she feels about makeup. Being a global brand, setting trends, anointing new designers, I’m sure she could inspire the beauty industry and editors, so let’s give her the opportunity. Though known for her perfectly manicured pageboy bob haircut, her dark sunglasses, her Chanel suits, her impressive knowledge of fashion, and her cold stare that would be sure to make Fashion Publicist Kelly Cutrone (if you have to cry, go outside) look like a pushover, Anna Wintour has a subtle beauty look that delicately enhances the features she chooses to accentuate.
First things first, budget is not a dirty word.  Think of the word budget as a synonym for smart. And being a L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Artist, I will re-makeover an icon Anna Wintour’s signature makeup look on a budget with another icon  L’OREAL Paris products. Anna Wintour understands the fashion industry taking a hit and no longer being easy on the wallet so she spearheaded NYC Fashion Night Out. So I thought why not recreate her signature makeup look on a budget. If ever I get the call to do Anna Wintour’s makeup I already know what L’OREAL Paris makeup I would use to achieve her signature look.
Because Anna Wintour is 61 years of age I selected the L’OREAL Paris Age Perfect line for mature skin to prep her face:

The Age Perfect Radiance Perfector Sheer Tinted Moisturizer will hydrate her skin giving her an instant sheer tint for a radiant glow. I also selected our Age Perfect Eye cream to rejuvenate, improve elasticity, promote resiliency and refine the delicate skin around her eyes.
Age Perfect Tinted  Moisturizer in Light $16.99
I also selected our Age Perfect Eye Cream to rejuvenate, improve elasticity, promote resiliency and refine the delicate skin around her eyes.

Age Perfect Eye Cream $15.49

Visible Lift Serum Absolute Makeup is a luxuriously lightweight foundation that will not settle into the lines and wrinkles. In 4 weeks Anna would see smoother, firmer, brighter, even, flawless skin.
Visible Lift Makeup in Classic Ivory $12.48

Visible Lift Line Minimizing Concealer is perfect to cover dark circles. Because Anna works longs hours and days, if used daily, she would start to see a reduction in under-eye puffiness in the first two weeks while improving under eye radiance.
Visible Lift Concealer in Fair $11.95

Visible Lift Line Minimizing Powder used to set her foundation is a silky powder that will not leave her skin looking dry or dull. Anna’s makeup is always natural so she would enjoy the fresh and luminous finish that it gives and a powder that would not settle into fine lines or wrinkles.

Visible Lift Powder in Nude Beige $14.49

Day Look: Here’s a natural quick in easy day makeup look with a pink-cherry stain lip color that would be great for busy always on the go women.

*Studio Secrets Professional Eye Shadow Quads in Kerry’s Bronze

Kerry’s Bronze $7.15
*Hip Studio Secrets Professional Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Brown

Brown $10.19
*Voluminious Full Defintion Mascara in Black
Black $5.54
*Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolor in Blazing Sangria
$9.99
Evening Look: I would like to see a stronger lipcolor to glam up Anna’s  look as she attends fashion shows and parties that many can only dream about.

I think the Gwen Stefani  Infallible Le Rouge lipcolor in Ravishing Red would be stunning on Anna’s  skin. This color was a hit last month when I applied it on the ladies at The Royal Wedding Bash hosted by St. George’s Society of New York. The Infallible Ravishing Red is actually a great color on all skin tones as I personally wear it myself.

*Hip Studio Secrets Professional Concentrated Shadow Duos in Sassy
Sassy $7.99
*Hip Studio Secrets Professional Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
Black $10.19
*Voluminious Full Defintion Mascara in Blackest Black
Blackest Black $5.54
*True Match Super-blendable Blush in Innoncent Flush N3-4 $10.95
Innocent Flush $10.95

*Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolor in Ravishing Red

Ravishing Red $9.99
Let me, Celebrity Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis, show you how to achieve every great makeup look with L’OREAL Paris without paying more.
Live, Love, Look Glamxurious…on a budget!
