Makeup Monday: Fall Rich Colors Inspired Me On Set Today

Fall is definitely here and all of those rich vibrant colors inspired me today when doing makeup. When I step out of my home in Connecticut this weekend I have all these beautiful trees that surrounds the home. Colorful leaves like red, auburn, copper, and browns are everywhere.

Wedding: Timeless Classic Outdoor Makeup Look At Trump Country Club

On Saturday I went to Bedminster, NJ to do makeup for a New York model at the beautiful property at Trump National Golf Club. It was a 2 hour drive from Connecticut but with my no sense of directions it took me an extra 45 mins. I got lost a few times, pulled up to the wrong house…don’t ask, and I had to battle with a deer on the road, lol. So my start was a little exciting.

Because both Vanessa & I had really busy schedule we didn’t get a chance to do a bridal consultation. Vanessa was pleased with my work from what she saw as well Shida, one of her bridesmaid speaking highly of me. We did talk over the phone, Vanessa shared with me what she wanted to look like. After finally meeting her I knew that I didn’t want her to look trendy but more pretty. Because she’s a model she have worn so many runway makeup looks so I decided to play with soft champagne, browns, and pinks. Keeping her makeup look timeless & classic. Of course I used lots of waterproof makeup & stay all day products since she was having the ceremony outdoor.

Makeup Monday: Theodora & Callum Summer /Fall Video Shoot

Recently, I was called to give Theodora & Callum’s Summer & Fall Video Shoot a pop of glamxuriousness. I coordinated a variety of makeup looks from summer makeup to day makeup, evening makeup and date makeup. I packed a lot of goodies from air-brush makeup, L’OREAL Sublime Bronze, plus my STILA Stay All Day Foundation, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Shadow Shields and so much more. 
Theodora & Callum scarves have been donned by fashionista Rachel Zoe, Kerry Washington, Hedi Klum, and even style icon Mick Jagger have been seen rocking these exceptional accessories. It’s Makeup Monday…the kick off to Beauty Happy Hour. A new beauty column that I will be doing with Caribbean Posh Magazine. I was elated about being featured in Connecticut, The News-Times Sunday newspaper. Plus I was able to tie in my first Beauty Happy Hour web video with my interview. 
Hopefully with more practice I’ll get better so don’t be to hard on me. I do think my baby girl was proud of me because she volunteer to put together this sweet video for me.

Behind The Scene Photo Shoot With A Fashion Executive

When I was called to do makeup for Ramona Dunlap, Senior Marketing Manager for Calvin Klein I asked my agent to send me a picture so I could get an idea how to pack my kit. She explained to me that Ramona needed new head-shots because she will be doing a lot of engagements & interviews so she was in need of new pictures. When I received the above picture I was excited because she was going to be a great canvas to paint. As I looked more in more at the picture I agreed she needed new but something different. Ramona eyes and her pose spoke to me, there was a little something that I felt I could get to come out. I knew that I was going to be working with my favorite photographer Karriem Simmons in I knew the clothes were being pulled from Donna Karan so this felt like a makeover more than a photo-shoot for new head-shots. The day of the shoot Ramona was everything you can ask for in a talent. She was amazing…so here is our story.

Makeup items I used on Ramona: Inglot, L’OREAL Paris, Stila, & Smashbox
I wanted her lips to have a certain shade of pink so I did a lot of mixing . Time for more Smashbox Reflection High Shine Lipgloss
The second & third look it was about her bling bling eyes thanks to Stila cosmetics. Then I changed her lips to this gorgeous orange from L’OREAL Paris
Ramona fifth makeup look I was inspired by this fabulous dainty and exquisite Donna Karan black lace dress. When she put the dress on it reminded me of Audrey Hepburn. I remember this eye makeup that Audrey Hepburn had on so I used that image as my inspiration.

To change up the makeup I wanted a high shine rock n roll lip on Ramona.  I knew that she could handle a strong lip so I went for it.

I played with a variety of  red lipstick, lip pencils, and lip color mixed with a high shine gold lip gloss.

My Sizzling Summer In Harlem Was the Theme of The Photoshoot

Maisha Teacher, owner of Bibi Salon NYC called and asked if I was available to do makeup for her photo shoot. The shoot story board was about trendy young adults in Harlem during the summer. I was elated about being a part. We got everyone ready at the salon then headed over to The Cove Lounge NYC on Lenox for the actual shoot. Maisha put together a great glam squad, we all craved each other work that it made for a great shoot with so much fun on set.
