Hanging Out With My Favorite French Girl…Garance Doré

I always enjoy going to @GaranceDoré home to do her makeup. She’s elegant, funny, and luv to chat makeup. Upon my arrival she was doing her own nails. Once her nails dry she wanted to give me a proper greeting which means a hug and cheek to cheek bisou. I unpack all my L’OREAL Paris makeup goodies, and asked about what fab event she was getting herself into so I’ll know how to prep her face.

I decided to keep her makeup look clean & natural. Today it was all about showing her skin. I couldn’t wait to use some of L’OREAL Paris new items on her like my favorite; Revitalift Miracle Blur and True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer. Of course I reached for my oldies but goodies: HiP high intensity pigments Concentrated Shadow Duos in Shady, HiP high intensity pigments Bright Shadow Duos in Flare, and Glam bronze pressed bronzing powder. All done…magnifique!!!

Photo time…just finished doing Garance Dore makeup…effortless. One day I will beat that face, I just don’t know when, lol.
All my L’OREAL Paris makeup goodies that I used on Garance Dore for her photoshoot.

How I Kept Brad Goreski Flawless For His Old Navy Segment on Katie Couric

It started out really ugly and I was a little disappointed because I got up to do my hair and makeup really glamxuriously for Brad Goreski. I thought I left ugly weather in Connecticut it was ugly, but by the time I got to New York it was uglier. Regardless how much Elnett satin hairspray I sprayed in my hair, it just wasn’t cute any longer. I arrived at Old Navy in SOHO and set up my area before Brad arrived. I’m a fan of Brad so I knew what products I would need to groom him for the “How To Upgrade Your Style With Old Navy” segment with Katie Couric. I selected all of my to go to men products from L’OREAL Paris and my favorite hair products. For makeup I selected Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day HD Foundation and I used L’OREAL Paris True Match Powder.

I knew Brad had entered the store because I could hear his voice as he was greeted by the ladies from Old Navy. When they introduced Brad to me he was more fabulous than on his Bravo Reality TV Show, It’s a Brad, Brad World. He was wearing this amazing fuchsia Burberry trench coat, purple shirt, eggplant bow tie and black fleece pants. A look that only a trendy stylist like Brad could pull off…so a’ la mode.http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js_uacct = “UA-3446372-1”; urchinTracker();

Male Grooming: On Set For Rock Band Imagine Dragon Music Video

In November, I worked on a fun music video for indie rock band Imagine Dragon new song Radioactive that took place in Old Bethpage, NY. I was ask to only do makeup for the amazing Actor Lou Diamond Phillips. LDP as he like to be called is a childhood actor that I was a huge fan of. I’ve been watching him since 1986, some of my favorite movies and TV shows he was in was of course La Bamba, The Three Kings, Stand and Deliver, Young Guns, Courage Under Fire. In recently, Law & Order SVU, Numbers, Filly Brown, and Southland. So when makeup artist Joann Simkin told me that it was going to be the most easiest assignment I ever did she was correct. LDP was easy to groom and his makeup didn’t move so he didn’t need a lot of touch ups to say we shot outside the entire time. But it was freezing outside so that helped a lot.
LDP kept both hairstylist Shavaughn and I entertain on set the entire time, even in the car as we headed home. I had so much respect for him because he arrived alone, no bodyguards, no entourage  no manager, nada. He was like a part of the crew that’s how you know he’s a real actor…he came to work.

I prep him with L’OREAL Paris Men’s Expert Vita Lift Anti-Wrinkle & Firming Moisturizer to hydrate his face. Than L’OREAL Paris Hydra Energetic Ice Cold Eye Roller for under eyes circles and puffiness I used Stila cosmetics Stay All Day HD Foundation & Concealer and to keep his lips moist I chose OCC Feathered Lip Balm. I dust his face with L’OREAL Paris True Match Powder then very lightly using a large powder brush I tap him with Make Up For Ever HD Powder.

The Makeup Room for MTV 10 On Top: Most Stylin’ Stars Of The Year

While everybody was trying to figure out which of their favorite stars were going to make MTV list. I was backstage working on the makeup looks with my fab team. Elated that MTV Networks called me back to create a makeup look for their first fashion show. I had to create makeup looks for Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola from MTV Jersey Shore, Actress Molly Tarlov from MTV Awkward, Blogger GabiFresh, Musicain Elaine Bradlet from music group Neon Trees, and 22 models who are also fans of MTV 10 On Top TV Show.

I wanted to keep the models’ faces fresh, youthful, and effortless with the makeup. For each talent, I gave them a personal glam look. For Sammi, I gave her metallic smokey eyes, a nude lip, and illuminated her skin then topped it off with bronzer, her personal favorite. On Molly, I also kept her eyes smokey but I added a little golden shimmer to make her eyes pop. I used a light pink lipstick on her lips to keep her makeup soft and playful. On Elaine, I wanted to play up her rocker persona. She’s confident, cool, and hip that translated into giving her sultry eyes. All of the talents and models were treated to flirty mink like lashes from Urban Decay called Black Velvet. Urban Decay lashes are a must for makeup artists and ladies who love flirty lashes. On my last face GabiFresh, I wanted her to look trendy and current. The bold pink lips, and bronzed skin was more her personality so I played with more color on her.

When selecting makeup products I used Stila Cosmetics HD Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer, L’OREAL Paris Infallible eye shadows and Colour Caresse by Colour Riche Lipstick. Of course her lashes, I never go anywhere without Urban Decay lashes.

The show aired on Sunday night and for anyone that didn’t hear, Rihanna claims the leading spot for MTV “10 On Top” music and fashion review.

Stila Cosmetics HD Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer

High Definition makeup has become the new trend in the beauty industry with makeup lovers. Not sure if many woman really understand why they are buying it but they know along with BB cream they must have it. Last month Stila cosmetics came out with 16 shades of HD foundation and I must say, it’s EVERYTHING! They did very well with producing shades that will work on all skin tones. I have been using it on assignments and my talent skin always look flawless on television. I actually like the look better than airbrush makeup. So many reasons why I’m a fan of this product, one being that it comes with a full coverage concealer that is inside of the cap. No more guessing what shade of concealer to purchase and carrying extra products. The concealer cover dark circles and blemishes very well. Both the foundation and concealer has a creamy texture that is oil free and gives a flawless full coverage finish that last all day. Even though it comes with a mini foundation brush, I like using my fingers and a damp beauty blender for a natural finish.

I do like that it looks amazing on someone who doesn’t wear much makeup if applied very light and with Stila Beauty Balm. If your a makeup junkie and/or makeup artist check out Stila HD Foundation and Concealer. It’s definitely worth having in your makeup case.

Sleek and Contemporary: The Revolution Makeup Brushes

When I received my complimentary state of the art Royal & Langnickel set of Revolution brushes from BellaPublic Relations, I was elated. It was perfect timing. I was heading out the door to go to MTV to work on Hip Hop POV, so I couldn’t wait to use them on the ladies to see how they work. Once I actually opened the package I was impressed with the sleek and contemporary look of the brushes. Celebrity Makeup Artist Kevin James Bennett collaborated with Royal & Langnickel to help create the Revolution collection. Each brush head is made of DuPont™ Natrafil® fibers, giving them a soft natural feel. Being that Kevin is a professional makeup artist, I am sure that he thought about durability, length, and comfort of the brushes ‘handles. The brushes seems to be high quality, so I can’t wait to see what amazing work I will be creating with my new Revolution brushes.

A Glam Day With Ebony Magazine and Covergirl Cosmetics

Yesterday photo shoot & video segment in New York with Ebony Magazine for their client Covergirl cosmetics was wondrous. I was honor to work with a crew of talented and outstanding women in the field of, beauty, fashion, and production. Each one of us complemented each other eminent talent and craft. Celebrity Makeup Artist Ashunta Sheriff and Celebrity Stylist Rosie Philidor were our renowned talent of the day. And Ebony Magazine Style Director Marielle Bobo was the host. Celebrity Hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew and her team did hair on everyone. Celebrity makeup Artist Chanel did Ashunta Makeup and I did makeup on Rosie & Marielle.
It was like hanging with talented girlfriends everyone doing what they love. We laughed, talked, took pictures with each others and did lots of tweeting. So much beauty was created on this assignment that I look forward to working with everyone again.
Adding the finishing touches to the gorgeous Rosie

Rosie looks a little like Tamar Braxton
Played with color palettes of grey, and pinks for this makeup look

Marielle doesn’t wear a lot of makeup but I changed that today  by using blue eyeliner and green eye shadow. Added bronzer with a splash of cherry on her lips
