Glam Squad Getting Golden Globes Ready With L’OREAL Paris

Just like celebrities, glam squads ( hair, makeup, & nails) prep days in advance for major red carpet events like The Golden Globes. Today a few of the L’OREAL Paris Pro Team met up at the studio to go over some of the luxe looks we will be creating on Sunday night. Here are a few behind the scene pics to show how we prep.

Get Singer Lorde Vamp Lips With L’OREAL Paris HIP LipGloss

http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js_uacct = “UA-3446372-1”; urchinTracker();

I’ve been obsessing with the vampy lip once again and after seeing newcomer New Zealand singer and songwriter LORDE rocking her royal lips I knew I had to recycle my favorite L’OREAL Paris HIP lip gloss. A lot of women are afraid of this strong dark almost black lip color. If worn correctly with minimum makeup but with illuminating skin it’s a brilliant color on everyone. Especially if your already a fan of chocolate, wine and deep burgundy lipsticks.

I enjoy this color so much that I am always ready to use on models at photshoots. On set I remember when I pulled out this color a few people went silent but once on the model the vampy lip gave the entire look life. So what do I use to get this look, because I’m sure you want to know. I used L’OREAL Paris HIP Lipgloss in Ingenue #678 it’s my favorite. It’s one of their older colors but if you can find it, grab about 2 or 3, cuz this color will not disappoint.
My favorite all time lipgloss to achieveing that dark vampy lip is L’OREAL Paris HIP Lipgloss in #678

My Pantone Radiant Orchid 2014 New Year’s Eve Makeup Look

My New Year’s Eve makeup look was inspired by Pantone Color Of The Year 2014; Radiant Orchid. Pinky Purple a great spring color of warmth that looks great on everyone. It’s such a flirty color that I feel so feminine wearing it. The plus is that Radiant Orchid makes you look youthful and it brighten the face. As always I’m always trying to find makeup products on a budget that won’t break your private/emergency stash. We all want to look glamxurious but not everybody can keep up with the looks we see on the runway.
Here are makeup items I used to get my 2014 Radiant Orchid look.

Start with a damp Beauty Blender
Apply Stila Stay All Day HD Beauty Balm with my Beauty blender first
With my damp Beauty Blender I then apply L’OREAL Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur second
Before I do my face I like to do my eye makeup. I used Nicka K NY Absolute Perfect Eighteen Colors. The ones with the yellow dots are the 3 colors I used.
I then lined my eyes with Nicka K NY Liquid Liner. I don’t normally rock a cat look, it’s to trendy for me but this liner
gives a great cat eye

I’m enjoying L’OREAL Paris new Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

Finish with my eyes I damp my Beauty Blender again then I apply L’OREAL Paris Magic Lumi on my face

I then apply Stila Stay All Day HD Foundation & Concealer with my Beauty Blender.
I use # 10 to highlight & #13 all over
I don’t leave home without my L’OREAL Paris True Match Powder. I use a total of 3 colors to create my custom look.
*W8 all over *C8 to contour & *N5 to highlight

Set my foundation with Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Powder
My signature blush is Stila Custom Color Blush in Pink
For a little warmth to the skin this winter I like Nicka K NY Mineral Sheer & Glow Bronzer in Chocolate. I also like Carat/24K but I’m out of that one, lol!!!
I finished my Pantone Radiant Orchid makeup look by using Nicka K NY Lip Color in
Heading out the door, car just arrived to take me to my fav HAMPTONS family to get them makeup ready for their annual New Year’s bash..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Effortlessly Nude Look For A Donna Karan New York Video Shoot

One of my favorite designer is Donna Karan New York. I can go on for days with my testimonial on why I’m obsessed with her clothing. When ever I get a call to do makeup at her showroom it’s a treat because I get to go shopping in my head. This recent assignment Curtis called me to do both hair & makeup for a video for The Resort 2014 & Cashmere Collection. Because I saw the collection while doing makeup during market week at the showroom I knew what the collection looked like. After talking with Curtis we both channel going nude for the first half of the day with the makeup and effortless hair. Here a sneak peak from the video shoot. I hope you enjoy because it’s a great fall/winter makeup & hair look that is is simple to achieve.

Behind The Scene Of COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine Photo Shoot For Black Girls Rock

So what goes on behind the scene of a fun COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine photo shoot, well I’m here to share what my day was like.
The treat to working on this assignment was being a part of the photo shoot. Before Asia & Brittany arrived the video crew filmed B-Rolls of me unpacking my makeup kit. Throughout the photo shoot they filmed me doing makeup on the girls giving them fun  beauty tips. After the girls finished shooting with the talented photographer Keith Major I was up to do all of my speaking parts.
So elated that both COVERGIRL & Ebony Magazine selected me to be the makeup artist for this assignment. Definitely a dream come true…below you will see all of the COVERGIRL Queen Collection makeup I used on the girls to create their stunning Black Girls Rock ad.
I received COVERGIRL Queen Collection makeup the day before the photo shoot. I’m now obsessed with their Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara.

My Glam Evening At Allure Magazine & Jane Iredale Makeup Artists Night Out Beauty Event

Makeup Artist & Beauty Expert Brandy Gomez-Duplessis
I was very excited to receive a special invite from Allure Magazine to attend Makeup Artists Night Out featuring Jane Iredale Beauty Event at Conde Nast building. While enjoying cocktails and refreshments we were shown beauty tips and trends from Allure magazine editors. Jane Iredale makeup artist Randall shared with us tips from the makeup line and how to use some of their must haves items. I actually enjoyed playing with the products in trying on the makeup. My favorite item was Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base Mineral Foundation in: Butternut, Maple, & Terra. At the end we were given a great gift bag from both Allure magazine & Jane Iredale.
I look forward to trying some of my Jane Iredale goodies on my clients and on set.

Always a pleasure to meet my loyal readers of my blog like the fab Ellen.

Beauty News: The Makeup Look I Created For Hillary Clinton At Glamour Magazine Women Of The Year Award

For the second half of 2013 Glamour Magazine “Women Of The Year” Award I was selected a week before that I would be brought over to the back green room by the stage to do makeup on a select group of celebrities. My escort came up to get me around 6:30pm to help bring me to my second location inside Carnegie Hall. I was never told who I would be doing makeup on so I made sure my L’OREAL Paris makeup vanity was well stock with a lot of my favorite items.
When I saw a few secret services and a staff entering thanks to Scandal TV show I knew the guest was someone in the political field. What I didn’t know was it would be Mrs. Hillary Clinton walking through the door.

\

To get the makeup look that I gave Hillary Clinton here is the recipe of what I used. The makeup look I wanted to give Mrs. Clinton was a quick effortless makeup look. I wanted her skin to show, not aging her with heavy foundation. I mix L’OREAL Paris RevitaLift Triple Power and L’OREAL Paris Miracle Blur together on my palette. For her skin I wanted her to have a luminous look on stage so I selected L’OREAL Paris Magic Lumi and L’OREAL Paris True Match Lumi Foundation. Once again I mixed this cocktail together. With a large powder brush I dust her face with L’OREAL Paris True Match Powder. On her eyes I selected L’OREAL Paris HIP Matte Shadow Duo in Dashing. I wanted the matte shade of the pink eye shadow to pop against her now luminous face. I then used L’OREAL Paris Infallible Lacquer 24H liner in Dark Slate. While still wet I apply the dark shade eye shadow on top of the Dark Slate liner from the Dashing duo to soften the liner. Also a quick way to give her color without going to trendy. With a blush brush I used L’OREAL Paris True Match Blush in Apricot Kiss to warm up her skin. On her lips I prep them with L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche Lip Balm in Caring Coral. With a lip brush I applied L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Tropical Coral then topped it off with L’OREAL Paris Colour Riche leGloss in Saucy Mauve. A quick easy step to getting a polish makeup look.

Fall is definitely here and all of those rich vibrant colors inspired me today when doing makeup. When I step out of my home in Connecticut this weekend I have all these beautiful trees that surrounds the home. Colorful leaves like red, auburn, copper, and browns are everywhere.
Inspired by being outside

Today on set I was asked to create a fall makeup look. Here is the eye shadow and lip color I selected to use on the model for the photo shoot.
