So happy for Makeup And Martinis NYC to be back filming a new makeup review video on Pat McGrath Mothership ll Eyeshadow Palette Sublime. This palette has a wardrobe of great colors with different shadow textures to help and give you a variety of gorgeous makeup looks. And while I’m talking about GORG, the case is so fabulous and fancy.
As you will see in the video once it’s up we used our fingers to swatch the colors as well as used makeup brushes from Morphe to apply the shadows on. I had to post this summer article because it just came out this this month. Due to the Hurricane this summer, Caribbean Posh magazine was wiped out and had to put this summer issue on hold. But this was such a fab article that I had to share it with you all. I thank Janette Brin, the owner of Caribbean Posh magazine for working hard on rebuilding her life, giving everyone’s their job back and still managed to publish the summer issue magazine. Now that’s what I call a SUPERWOMAN, right?!

TROPICAL FOUNDATIONS…
Here comes the sun if your heading to the Caribbean this time of year. If you’re a makeup wearer the one thing we all hate is the feeling of our foundation dripping. If your anything like me, a person who loves full coverage foundation and have very oily skin then finding a really good long wearing foundation is a MUST. Sweat no more because I found us new foundations that can hold up in any Caribbean weather.
Last September Hurricane Irma hit the British Virgin Island and the entire island was destroyed. Caribbean Posh magazine was suppose to run this article inside the summer issue but everything came to a halt. Janette Brin, the Founder of Caribbean Posh has worked extremely hard to still release that issue with many more new articles to come. So for the next few days I will be posting all of the articles I written in that issue. For Janette to still release the magazine it shows how amazing of a woman she is. 21 years of being in the Beauty & Entertainment industry as a Celebrity Makeup Artist, being called a Beauty Expert, Influencer and even a Sephora Senior Artist for Connecticut. I can now say I have my own makeup brand. That feels so good to say I must admit. Johnny, my business partner and I wanted to give you all something great. Entitled Beauty is a mineral based makeup line with 3x the pigments and I really mean heavily pigmented. The texture, I LOVE because normally matte liquid lipsticks crack throughout the day and our creamy liquid lipsticks goes on so smooth and feel so soft that you forget your wearing it.
Our first week of launching Entitled Beauty walked the runway at Oscar de la Renta fashion show. We have already been mentioned in BRIDES, Everyday Health, and on a few blogs. I’m elated about my upcoming assignment in February, where I will use our delicious lippies on the female celebrity talents in LA during NBA All Star Weekend. I look forward to sharing those pics with you.

When I started my blog Sept 2007 it was because I wanted my family, friends and clients to keep up with me after Hurricane Katrina. Never did I think that others would want to read about my life on my blog, especially doing the horrible time of losing my home and my makeup studio. There have been times when I dropped the ball and wasn’t consistent with my writing because life was busy and I was trying to re-brand myself in my career so I put my writing aside. Plus, I never thought my writing was any good because I write how I speak (bad English…lol). If I knew blogging was going to take off the way that it has I would have been a full time blogger long ago. I didn’t know to keep up with my google analytics and changing over my blog from blogspot to wordpress that I would lose my numbers.
So, I got back into blogging and kept it authentic sharing about me and Inside The Life Of A Makeup Artist. As the makeup industry became popular again, my blog took off again. Everyone wanted to know what was I using on the celebrities at Sundance Film Festival, at The Golden Globes, at NBA All Star Weekend and other major assignments I was working doing makeup.
Readers wanted to know details, what I was wearing, what I was eating, what makeup brush I was using, what skincare I put on clients, what hotel I was staying at. That can sometimes become scary, like when I had a stalker followed me while on a makeup tour. Yep, the police was called and everything. So, I shut down all of my social media platforms out of fear. But you know me, I was like I won’t let fear stop me ( even though it did…lol),
I started back up and my blog took off again. It got to the point where I was featured on AOL as one of 15 awesome people to follow during the Golden Globes. That one feature and features like that are what keeps me going everyday with my blog. Knowing that readers wanted to follow all of my journeys from the good and the bad. I picked up new readers when I started sharing about my health with having Lupus, Lyme, and RA. I picked up new readers when I worked on an MTV Hip Hop show, I picked up new readers when I worked with Covergirl at Ipsy Gen Beauty NYC and just recently I picked up new readers working on the Bruno Mars 24K Magic Concert Special for CBS.
So on this Throwback Thursday, what from your past keeps you motivated? Thanks AOL Editors for selecting me as one of the 15 people to follow for the Golden Globes (…they are coming up again..hint hint wink wink…lol)
