Are You An Aspiring Makeup Artist

I started Beauty Blueprint because I get asked daily “How Did You Do It” branding myself in the beauty industry without an Agent, Manager, or Publicist. So, after flirting with the idea of teaching my secrets to other makeup artists & hair stylists, I decided to share my blueprint. Consultations will always take place through Skype or Facetime. I’m excited about it because so many people who love beauty are living in smaller markets who want to work in the industry but have no clue where to begin. Beauty Blueprint is a one-on-one meeting where I coach the business side and how to work in the industry and be in demand in your city. Not everyone can afford to travel to New York and California to follow their dreams or attend a makeup school. This is their opportunity to learn what to do. There is no quick contact list of names. It’s a business class…no makeup & hair will be taught. Sometimes I get artists and stylists that feel like they’re in a rut and need help growing. I also get calls from people who are scared to take that leap and follow their dreams. They can book 1-3 hours or a package with me to help them become successful. You can book with me as often as you need to with me at their own pace. The client is in charge with what they want to learn, no unnecessary curriculum. Each session is customized to fit each person’s needs. And that is just part of what Beauty Blueprint offers, I also will do consultations for personal beauty clients and quick Q &A beauty.

I, Brandy Gomez-Duplessis, am a New York and Connecticut Makeup Artist. A native New Yorker, who has worked at Estee Lauder in New York, the first M.A.C. Cosmetics counter at Saks Fifth Avenue in New Orleans, and owned and operated my own makeup boutique BGD Beauty Bar in New Orleans. In demand as a freelance makeup artist, I relocated back to New York. As a New York Makeup Artist, I have always been moving between celebrity clients, red carpet events, fashion shows, and various makeup assignments. I have worked with: Kerry Washington, Golden Globe & Oscar winner Melissa Leo, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Kim Kardashian, Malin Ackerman, Angela Bassett, Khloè Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Jordin Sparks, Reggie Bush, Chris Paul, and Usher. Gomez-Duplessis is the NBA All Star Weekend Key Makeup Artist. I have also worked assignments such as: The Golden Globes, The Super Bowl, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival, Project Runway /Project Runway All Stars, The Oprah O! You Tour, and for EssenceMagazine.com at the Essence Music Festival.

It is with this industry and beauty knowledge that I wanted to create Beauty Blueprint. To share my knowledge and passion for beauty as well as my passion to coach and teach. Connecticut makeup artist we can also Skype if you’reto far for in erson sessions.  If you know of a aspiring makeup artist or a freelance makeup artist share thos post with them.

Thank you and welcome to my #BeautyBlueprint #BSquared

All Beauty Blueprint sessions are designed directly for every client and constructed around personal or professional expectations. In other words, we listen to what you want and what you know and build a lesson plan around that using our curriculum as a base. Consultations targeting Industry Beauty insight or Personal Beauty and the accompanying General Beauty would consist of open forum lessons with topics and discussions to help achieve your beauty results

GET TO KNOW CONNECTICUT CELEBRITY MAKEUP ARTIST BRANDY GOMEZ-DUPLESSIS

celebrity-makeup-artist-brandy-gomez-duplessis-at-home.jpgMeet Brandy, my fairy glam-mother, as I like to call her. She’s probably my most fabulous and glamorous friend – and I know a lot of fab women! Why do I want you to know her? Because she’s definitely a #GirlBoss, paving the way for women entrepreneurs in the makeup industry. She’s been in the game for years, from owning her own makeup concierge boutique in New Orleans to working with some of the most high-profile celebrities and directing top print and editorial campaigns.

I first met Brandy about two years ago and instantly, we clicked. If you have the pleasure of knowing Brandy you know her personality is magnetic, over-the-top in the best way possible, and the warmest soul. She won’t boast about all the amazing things she’s accomplished. Nope. She’d rather learn about your goals and do anything in her power to help you achieve them – to know her is truly to love her.

A few weeks ago I asked her if I could share a bit of what she’s accomplished in her amazing career and just chat about what she’s currently up to. She agreed! So we sat down, I got to play reporter and Brandy got personal about life as a professional makeup artist in Connecticut.

How did you get started in the makeup industry? Did you always know you wanted to be a makeup artist?

I started at Estée Lauder in Walt Whitman Shops in Suffolk County, New York. I always knew I wanted to be in the beauty and fashion industry. I love being around fashion, hair, and makeup. I also flirt with photography and interior designs. I feel like I love everything that has anything to doing with enhancing a look.

You just came back from New Orleans working a big assignment. Can you share a little about it?

Yes, I was working as the Key Makeup Artist for the NBA All-Star Weekend. I was in charge of bringing on a team of hair and makeup artists and working on the talent. We always get big name actors and artists that are hot on the charts. I also create makeup looks on their background dancers, the NBA dancers, the band, and sometimes the players if they have a photo shoot scheduled. It’s a lot of work because everything is live on TNT so you always need to be ready for anything.

5 THINGS I’VE LEARNED ABOUT MARRIAGE

Ilse.jpg

I’m no expert here but I have learned a few things about marriage since becoming a wifey in 2012. Like many things, I probably wasn’t the best at it at first – I still have my shortcomings but let’s be honest I’m practically perfect at it now 😉 LOL. Learning from some great couples around us and really stepping back and looking at the whole picture has helped me gain a lot of perspective on what it takes to build a marriage. It’s definitely not easy – it’s constant work, work from both sides. And for us we’ve had time to just grow together because we haven’t expanded the family just yet (Oh that will be a learning curve! A welcomed learning curve 🙂 ).

So with Valentine’s Day two weeks away, and our five year wedding anniversary coming up, I had the urge to chat marriage lessons and love. Nope I don’t hold all the secrets and every relationship is different but this is my experience. Read Full Article

Sunday Night Out With The Girls

A much needed girls night was needed with Ilse & Daisy. After work I met up with my girls at Mezon Tapas Bar & Restaurant on Mill Plain Road in Danbury. Ilse selected the spot because she always pick the best place for girls day or girls night. We had a lot to celebrate, Daisy birthday & her dream job becoming a M.A.C makeup artist. The other topics was business, business, & business for 2017. The next day I texted Annya with all the notes because she wasn’t able to meet up with us on short notice. I’m so glad we managed to get together before the new year to organize our blueprint.

My Daisy is 21 years of age, she’s legal to drink now!

What Makeup Did I Use On The Fabulous Nashelly Messina From FABULATINA

FabulatinaWhen I received a text last month from the fabulous Lifestyle Blogger Nash of FABULATINA about doing her makeup for her 40th Birthday Bash I was so elated. Whenever Nash call for makeup that means she’s doing something glamxurious.

I met Nash years back when she was with L’OREAL Paris and I was on the L’OREAL Paris Pro Makeup Team. I would do her makeup in her office before attending any big L’OREAL Paris event.

After leaving L’OREAL Paris and starting FABULATINA, Nash hired me for a fun photo shoot with Theodora & Callum. So, I guess your wondering what makeup did I use on a FABULOUS girl like Nashelly Messina? I made sure I had the best lashes & highlighter! See for yourself.
