Throwback Thursday, Beauty Influencer Share Blogging Experience

When I started my blog Sept 2007 it was because I wanted my family, friends and clients to keep up with me after Hurricane Katrina. Never did I think that others would want to read about my life on my blog, especially doing the horrible time of losing my home and my makeup studio. There have been times when I dropped the ball and wasn’t consistent with my writing because life was busy and I was trying to re-brand myself in my career so I put my writing aside. Plus, I never thought my writing was any good because I write how I speak (bad English…lol). If I knew blogging was going to take off the way that it has I would have been a full time blogger long ago. I didn’t know to keep up with my google analytics and changing over my blog from blogspot to wordpress that I would lose my numbers.

So, I got back into blogging and kept it authentic sharing about me and Inside The Life Of A Makeup Artist. As the makeup industry became popular again, my blog took off again. Everyone wanted to know what was I using on the celebrities at Sundance Film Festival, at The Golden Globes, at NBA All Star Weekend and other major assignments I was working doing makeup.

Readers wanted to know details, what I was wearing, what I was eating, what makeup brush I was using, what skincare I put on clients, what hotel I was staying at. That can sometimes become scary, like when I had a stalker followed me while on a makeup tour. Yep, the police was called and everything. So, I shut down all of my social media platforms out of fear.  But you know me, I was like I won’t let fear stop me ( even though it did…lol),

I started back up and my blog took off again. It got to the point where I was featured on AOL as one of 15 awesome people to follow during the Golden Globes. That one feature and features like that are what keeps me going everyday with my blog. Knowing that readers wanted to follow all of my journeys from the good and the bad. I picked up new readers when I started sharing about my health with having Lupus, Lyme, and RA. I picked up new readers when I worked on an MTV Hip Hop show, I picked up new readers when I worked with Covergirl at Ipsy Gen Beauty NYC and just recently I picked up new readers working on the Bruno Mars 24K Magic Concert Special for CBS.

So on this Throwback Thursday, what from your past keeps you motivated? Thanks AOL Editors for selecting me as one of the 15 people to follow for the Golden Globes (…they are coming up again..hint hint wink wink…lol)

Perfume Shopping Just In Time Before The Holiday’s

One of my favorite accessories after getting dressed whether it’s for a casual event or a special occasion is a beautiful, seductive bottle of parfum. Each perfume I select has a story of how I am feeling at the very moment. Some days, I feel pretty, sexy, flirty, fancy or just fun and romantic. Not only do I buy for the packaging, but I buy for the lovely notes.

Being a Celebrity Makeup Artist I got to travel a lot with my celebrity clients that I looked forward to traveling with them to find the fancy perfumes that’s not here in the States. So each of those perfumes would have a special memory for me. Usually, it’s a flirty one.

Ladies, if you have a husband like mine who find it scary when I go perfume shopping because he’s allergic to almost every perfume. Here’s a tip that I found to help me when selecting a new one. When selecting your next new scent look for a perfume that is more spicy and woodsy in scent.

Entitled Beauty Mineral Makeup Online Store Is Open

 

OMG, can you believe it? The day has following come. Entitled Beauty online store is Now Open for business. It took us 1 year to plan with many days testing out colors, coming up with names, and just having fun creating Entitled Beauty. Being an entrepreneur is not an easy one. With both of us working hard at our regular jobs we first started with Makeup And Martini’s NYC doing makeup review videos. With the success of Makeup And Martini’s NYC we are now consider a Vlogger. But for us makeup junkies we wanted more, we wanted our own makeup line. We’re just so excited that we finally did it. We are starting with 10 highly pigmented perfectly matte lip colors that has 3x the pigments then most.

All of you bloggers will appreciate that us beauty influencers are proud to say we are now owners of a makeup line called Entitled Beauty. We both wanted a signature color to call our own. So Johnny and I worked hard at creating a shade that we would personally rock on our lips. Johnny color is a beautiful pink called Venice and I chose a flirty violet purple shade called Orchid.

Influencers Fun Day Of Getting Content For Their Blog

Yesterday photo shoot with Lifestyle Blogger Ilse was done on location at Stamford Town Center.  Today we both needed to get new content for our social media pages so I took a trip out to Stamford in Ilse neck of the woods. Because I was doing a sponsor post I needed pics of me wearing the the foam loafers that I was wearing from Floafers and Ilse needed new casual pics for her blog. I selected a black pair of the loafers so that I can wear them when I’m working at the salon, on set, any assignment that I would be on my feet for long hours. I figured black would go well with my all black wardrobe. I can honestly say I LOVE THEM! I’m not a CROCS shoe girl because I didn’t like the slip-on and the shoes was not the most stylish looking. I always felt like I was going to fall in them. I need support when I’m working. The last thing I need to worry about is falling. I’m not sure why but my feet didn’t do well in them. I would swell up so so bad in the CROCS. So, it was a relief to see that I didn’t have any problems wearing Floafers.

Let me tell you guys about these foam loafers because I’m now obsessed. Not only are the shoes very stylish and comfortable the shoes are; lightweight, breathable, scuff proof, that have sectional traction so you won’t slip on wet surfaces, it’s made out of antimicrobial foam so they will protect you from odor, mildew, and mold. And the price is easy on the wallet. These loafers are great for anyone that is on their feet for long hours. I wore them all day and my feet did not swell up that’s not normal because when I’m on my feet all day my feet is usually swollen. As you all know my battle with lupus I look like elephant man by the end of the day. Well, not yesterday. So if you know of anyone that suffer like I do I recommend a pair of Floafers.

After a hard day of working taking beautiful pictures both Ilse and I was ready for lunch and of course cocktails so I suggested Kona Grill because we both wanted something healthy for lunch. I know I know we both had cocktails but it was Happy Hour so we couldn’t resist the COSMO75 they were DE-LIOUIS!!!!

My Glamxurious Sunday At Hotel Zero Degrees In Danbury

On Sunday I had such an glamxurious day with my crew Ilse & Johnny. It was all about beauty and fashion and when we get together for a fabulous day together we like to spend it at our favorite hotel, Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury, CT.  A few bottles of Mionetto Prosecco and Itz Spritz with a sexy playlist our Sunday was grand.

After a fancy day of taking selfies because that’s what bloggers do we decided to place a room service order but my Libra self was not ready to go up to the room so we ate downstairs by the fireplace. This way we were able to continue with taking fab pics of ourselves. We really luv it here at Hotel Zero Degrees and the staff is always so accommodating to me.

The lights in Hotel Zero Degrees is the best especially in the bathroom. It’s so bright and the space size in their batroom is great, Now this is a bathroom you wouldn’t mind hanging out in.

This morning I awake to a knock on the door. Since I wasn’t expecting anyone I was overjoyed when I saw a package was left. I knew I didn’t order anything so it had to be complimentary goodies but I just didn’t know from who….yay it’s from  SUNDAY RILEY!!!!
