When I got invited to Absolute New York makeup showroom I was ecstatic. Picking out new makeup even for a professional makeup artist like myself I was delighted. So that’s why this weekend I’m elated about taking my Ridgefield bride makeup shopping. I enjoy helping my clients to find the right makeup and skincare items for themselves. This way they make smart purchases when at their favorite beauty stores. On this shopping trip I’m helping my bride pick out makeup items to take with her on her honeymoon.

A Pop Of Color With Makeup This Winter 

The last makeup look of the day was actually my favorite because I was able to play with color. I was feeling creative on set today, I wanted some color because all of this cold weather and snow ❄️ is so boring to me. It sound weird but I get motivated by the craziest things when I’m on set doing makeup. So my model was my canvas allowing me to be creative with her Kim Kardashian West look alike face.

To recreate this colorful makeup look I used the following makeup items.

Connecticut Makeup Artist Get’s John Legend Ready For NBA All Star

Whenever I share with my clients that I will be working the NBA All Star Weekend I always get asked the same question, “You Put Makeup On The Ball Players”? But there is so much more to being the Key Makeup Artist for the NBA during All Star Weekend. Friday through Sunday I have a lot of talents (music artists, hosts, dancers, & players) scheduled for makeup before going on television. One of my favorite talents and someone I worked with before at Sundance Film Festival was John Legend.  John Legend and his dancers were all scheduled to receive makeup on Sunday. I always enjoy creating a makeup look for the dancers so that they could all be consistent with their fashion.

The reason why I selected to share what products I used on John Legend is because so many ask how do you groom a man for television. With John Legend already having consistently even skin, he was easy to work with. My only concern was to hide his dark circles so that he would not look restless on camera. Whenever I’m working and doing a live show, I have know that the products I use will be reliable and give me the finish that I want.

Spring Into Dewy Skin With A Highlighter

Let It Glow, Let It Glow…Spring is almost here and my clients in Fairfield County can’t wait for it to get here soon enough especially with the beautiful weather we have had in the last two days. Ladies, I’m sure you’re ready for that effortless dewy skin; so how do you achieve that brilliant spring glow you ask? A highlighter…Highlighters help to give the skin a luminous finish and can be purchased in different textures:powders, liquids, and creams. When using a highlighter, I like to apply the highlighters with a damp beauty blender on the apple of the cheeks and along the cheekbones to give that radiant fresh face glow. While I was in Westport, CT doing makeup, a client asked me to select 5 of my favorite highlighters. With so many highlighters to choose from I had to think for a second, because I love them all!

This Is What I Have In My Hair & Makeup Kit

Since I’m forced to stay home during Winter Storm Chris I decided to do a few things. One being pampering my skin while working on my hair & makeup kit for tomorrow video shoot with Nestle. And the other is my upcoming assignment this month for the NBA All Star Weekend.

Have you ever gotten overwhelmed with trying to do any type of cleaning & organizing? I think I’m there now, lol. So, I’ll just stay focus on tomorrow assignment first then Saturday I can focus on packing for my trip in New Orleans. It’s a total of 8 hair & makeup people so I just want to make sure I have everything my team will need.

A Snow Day Is Perfect For Pampering Your Skin

I’m giving myself a spa experience today by immersing my skin into a bevy of different skin nurturing items. Teaching Makeup At Whip Salon In Connecticut

Today was the first of many makeup demo’s for Johnny Luoma at Whip Salon this month. Today’s makeup look that he will be doing is the No Makeup Makeup. Every Wednesday I will be observing Johnny makeup applications so that he can start doing makeup at the salon. Johnny took a makeup course at SONO Academy in Norwalk, CT so he’s coming with some experience.

Before coming to Whip Salon I was teaching Beauty Blueprint, it’s a 1-on-1 makeup class for upcoming makeup artists. I taught students artistry skills & the business skills of working in the beauty industry. The great thing about me teaching Beauty Blueprint was that I was able to offer this service online through SKYPE. So if someone living out of state wanted to take my class they could without the expense of traveling. Even if your a working freelance makeup artist in you want to figure out how to get more work in the industry I can help you do just that. With my 20+ years in the industry working with celebrities I know that I can give any hair & makeup person an insight.

For a short time I was also a Senior Artist for Sephora. I would certified makeup artists to do makeup on the floor, and teach to a large groups of makeup artists on new products & help elevating their artistry. I really enjoy teaching, helping upcoming talents to do what they love, hair & makeup. So with Johnny I’m so happy to help assist him with his passion of being a makeup artist. He’s going to do well once I’m done with him, he will be a high in demand artist, that’s my goal.
