Happy Monday!!! Today I’m working from home and if any of you that work from home know that distractions happens. As I’m writing beauty articles, some material for my book, and working on wedding contracts my playlist is throwing me off. Now, I know I can turn the music off but I find it funny that today every song is my favorite song, (lol). What throws you off while working from home?

Today is my son Jordan 20th Birthday and like any mother he’s still my baby. Jordan is not big on making a big fuss so I knew he would not want a cake so I had to think of something that was simple yet FABULOUS. One of Jordan favorite place to go to is Black Tap Craft in New York because he luv their burgers and crazy milkshakes but because we were on limited time I needed something just as fab in Connecticut. After doing my research I found Cream & Sugar Cafe in Bethel, CT just 19 mins from the house. After his sister and I picked him up from work we headed over to Cream & Sugar Cafe. Once he walked in he smiled like a little kid. Jordan has a sweet tooth like his mama and he luvs ice-cream so I knew he would enjoy being here. While eating he opened his gifts with the family.
Cream & Sugar Cafe was exactly what I thought it would be. Cute location, family oriented with a young friendly staff. After looking at the pictures on the wall and reviewing the menu we all knew exactly what milkshakes we wanted. I wish I was prepared to eat but now we know that we must not come on an empty stomach because after a few bites we were so full. I’m so excited that we found a fun spot for the summer.

Today’s photo shoot I was booked for was in Edgewater, NJ. Had a nice time working with Amber & Christina. The ladies needed pics for their new business OMNoire a health and wellness company. The ladies definitely captured what they believe in because their energy is very zen like. The real photographer on set was Joshua and wife & assistant Anika. As soon as I get the pictures I’ll share them with you. Here is a sneak peek of what my day was like.

It’s your favorite Makeup Artist! I recently took a leap of faith by joining with the award winning skincare company Rodan+Fields. I’m so elated about using the products on myself and sharing these products with you.
So before anyone freaks out I will still be doing freelance makeup but I hope this will be a great way to bring in extra income. But I will now have a signature skincare collection that I will be able to prep my clients with. As you all know that skincare is very important to me. I always tell my clients if you want a flawless makeup application then you have to take care of the skin first. On Saturday I went to the city to do a photo shoot with 2 fabulous women, Felita Harris who’s a SVP in Fashion, and Tracey Baker Simmons a Exec Producer. Our talented photographer Karriem who does a lot of fashion and portraits work captured everything the ladies was bringing.
Whenever we work together lots of beautiful magic happens. I started working with the ladies in July 2011 and every time it’s a party. Felita sent me a storyboard of where they wanted to go with their fashion so it gave me ideas on how I wanted to do both of their makeup. The ladies always let me do my artistry sometimes I push it, but they know at the end it will be fabulous. Each time I try to give them something new something different, plusI always want to try out my new makeup.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m heading to New Orleans for NBA All Star Weekend to work and I can’t be so elated. On this trip my travel companion is my daughter Envy. She wanted to go home to party while visiting her friends. Hubby dropped us to the airport and us girls were on our way. Being that I been the Key Makeup Artist since 2010, Michael and I have gotten use to me working out of town on this day. But I always find a fun creative way to leave them cute gifts at home.

Because I knew we would have a full day at the airport we decided to grab food and a cocktail. We ordered food from Anglers at LaGuarida airport.
So I order the Viva Villa, a Patron Silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup, for $14 but my drink didn’t look like the picture. After speaking with the waiter this was the best they could do he said. I’m a girl that order food by presentation and packaging. My complaint is when businesses advertise the food /drinks one way and bring out something totally different. Anyway, I did enjoy the lobster but I didn’t eat the bread and I luv my fresh hot crinkle fries.
After I got my grub on I decided to get some work done with all the updates coming in about the celebrity talents. I found me a quiet spot at the airport spread out all my stuff and I ordered myself a drink on one of those tablets. Oh, I was straight got a lot done while we waited to board.
After leaving the airport I only wanted to make one stop and as I WISHED the red light was on at Krispy Kreme. I order 2 dozens of the original doughnuts and now I’m complete.
My day started at the salon from 10am-3pm. It was a fun filled day with over 50+ appointments. Co-Owner Rebecca Sullivan Baglio of Romeo Baglio Design was my first client this morning. A girl always need makeup & lashes for the holidays right? Rebecca also gifted me with a bottle of Champagne & a bottle of Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath. She’s a girl that knows my heart, thanks Rebecca! My last client of the day was the fab Laura & Charlotte Cantwell. I always enjoy chatting with Laura, she’s a cool lady!

Ended my evening sitting by the fireplace while sipping on wine. We waited for Envy to return home before we started our Christmas Eve celebration. By 11pm I was out that I didn’t help Michael wrap the kids gifts. So he was solo, thank goodness he’s reliable because I definitely dropped the ball.
