BGD Mayor is back.

It has been 2 years almost three years since we taped the last show. The last show never aired and it’s weird because the last show was about Hurricane’s. Nagin had the hurricane guy in to talk about what to expect, what would happen and etc…ok it’s giving me chills cuz I remember so well what we talked about. Everything that he said to me as well as on the show happen. I mean EVERYTHING that came out of this man mouth happen just like he said it would, word for word.

So today I am back at WDSU studio and it’s not the same crew that use to be here. Nagin and I are left. Everybody was new, and the staff is so much smaller and this time Nagin does not host the show. Carlyn did a segment and radio personality Kelder from 102.9 FM did another segment. Franklin and Julie were running behind the scene things. And now we are only taping once a month instead of weekly.

Nagin arrived last at 10:15 so when he got there I was able to start on him cuz the girls were done as well as the guest. After we finished Franklin helped me pack up and I was done for the day. Picked the kids up and enjoy the day with my babies.

L’Oreal Tour/May 2008

HEY Guys…It’s Sunday and The L’Oreal tour is over and I am now home in New Orleans. Just wanted to share with you all pics from the tour. The tour was amazing this year. I met a lot of great new people from all over. I love when talented people can get together in gel well and not be on so stupid shit. But I got to see my old crew who I love deeply. I love how we all just help each other out and when we’re tired we give each other that push and supporting words to get us throught he evening.

Gomez Family

As you know I am in Houston this weekend for the L’Oreal tour so while I am here I made time to sneak off to come see my mom and family (Princessis, Sunshine, Blake, and Darrin). I am trying to cram everything in this visit but of course it won’t be enough time. Princessis came with me to get more makeup for Kim Kardashian photo shoot on Monday. We decided that we are going to try to get together to go see New Kids On The Block if they come to New Orleans or Houston. We had such a great time together. She got a chance to see how crazy my life is and how demanding my clients are and she gets it now. I always say people think I exaggerate sometimes about how hectic it is or can be but when they hang out with me for a full day they see and they change there opinions about how they are feeling. Now they understand I don’t stay away or don’t call cuz I am being bitchy but I am really that busy.

So it was great to see everybody again it’s been so long and so overdue.

Tomorrow back to normal.

Over Due

Girl, you know its been a minute for me to stop working today and sit down and do something for me. I am here at Serenity Spa inside of hotel Le Cirque on St. Charles Ave. The owner Daphane has stopped getting the place together for her special Mothers Day event on Sunday to do my manicure and pedicure which is OVERDUE…she is probably saying to herself she is a hot mess;))). I leave the day after Mothers Day to go on tour, yes with LOreal so I need to get my feet really massaged cuz you know how I suffer with my feet when I am on tour. The long hours on the platform really kills my feet. So last night Michael gave them a good massage so having them done now is a treat. It feels so good to do this FINALLY. It will be another year before I do this again.

After I enjoy my day here I am meeting Shontell for lunch at my favorite restaurant “HOUSTON’S” on St. Charles Ave. I am taking her out to celebrate her graduation this Saturday from Xavier University.

Then after that I have to get ready for our date at the W. Hotel. I got invited to this event and so I thought it would be perfect for all of us to attend. So I sent all the girls the invite so will be meeting later and lord knows what the hell is going to happen tonight. Cuz when all of us get together and drinks starts flowing lord knows what will come out of everybody’s mouth. So stay tune…..

Radio show

Good morning….rise in shine. Its about 5:28 am and – am headed to my studio to do makeup and hair on myself for the radio show interview on WBOK with CJ Morgan and Vincent Sylvain. I have to be at the station for 7am so that is why I am up so early. Hopefully they give me a tape of the show so I can have Xavier put it on the website. Cuz I know 100% of you all are asleep and I'm not mad at you.

All Day Photo Shoot




Short and sweet tonight….I had a photo shoot today at the studio. The GLAM SQUAD(Fred-photographer, AyakaLynn-female model, Dominque-male model, Ryan-2nd photographer, and myself on makeup/hair) got together and we did the damn thing. We were suppose to have Courtney on board to do hair again but she backed out the morning of to say she had to go to church on Wednesday morning. Not everybody is hungry…and the show went on without any problems and we stayed on time for the second shoot…sweet.

Ayaka came over early so that I go do her hair. Because she wanted length for the second half of the day I had to put extensions in her hair to cover her breast since she wanted to be topless for the last scene. So after I got the hair in I started on the makeup but I really wasn’t to sure of what I wanted to do with the makeup because the guys from Jerk & Jon Couture didn’t make it in just yet with the clothing. I have never worked with them so I wasn’t sure what to expect with clothing so I was already working plan B in my head. Looking at what Ayaka brought with her and what I had in my closet at the studio. I always bring all of my bling pieces because I love BLING. The guys finally arrived and they were actually really cool and easy to work with. Some of their pieces to me is very close to ED HARDY collection with crystals. That’s the best way to descriptive it to you.

Fred arrived around 12 noon and Dominque was running a little late but we managed to stay on schedule. Ya’ll that little boy is a cutie. If you would have seen the pics that he showed us of what he use to look like in high school you would not believe that he had that kind of potential. So now when girls compliment him he don’t know how to accept it. He actually think they are fucking with him because all of his life he was so unattractive. He really did a makeover on his on self. He will make a perfect boyfriend if anyone is looking but ya’ll can’t ruin this boy…ok!!!!


We go to the park to do the shoot. Fred left before us to set up and he was so cute. He had chilled drinks for us and a changing room for the models to change in. We had to hurry cuz it looked like it was going to rain but it actually didn’t.


Baby girl is amazing when the camera comes on. I love how she can work crazy poses and not afraid to try different things. I love working with her so much.

We stop working at 3pm to head back to the studio to get ready for the second photo shoot with Ryan at 4pm. Now Ryan ran a little late so we played around a little taking silly pictures. So I took the opportunity to do some stuff for my girl Thais Mills. The models and I had taking promo pics of her bookmarks for her company. Finally, Ryan came and we were back to work. Because it was to dark and late to go on location we just did the shoot in the back of the studio. Perfect…but the bugs were out and ya’ll know I don’t do bugs well. They really freak me out. So we finished the evening after 10ish and stayed to clean up the studio and put everything back where it belong.

Can’t wait to see the finish frames but here are some of the behind the scene pics with my camera. I checked my voice messages and Courtney called around 4pm to see if we still needed her to come by to do hair…Go figure….I’m done.

BIG EASY AWARDS at HARRAH’S

Tonight guys, I will be doing makeup for The Big Easy Awards at Harrah’s Casino. The event is from 7pm-11pm. I am so excited about being a part and seeing all of the local talent. I need to decide on what I am going to be wearing. I’ll try to take pictures…and I’ll try to blog from there if not to crazy…talk later.

Just like old time

I didn’t get shit done today as for as returning phone calls and/or emails:))) but I had a great day with my friends. So many people stop by the studio to see me and talk and network and laugh and just being silly as I tried to pretend to work and do some business. My first vistor for the day was Shontell and she was the second to last to leave me after 5pm. Then I had a real client who came in for lashes. Then Mel and Brittany arrived at the same time but not together. Brittany had a 1pm brow shaping appointment and Mel just came to hang.After everyone left Shontell and I went on a walking field trip to get lunch and that was really a field trip. Came back then the permit guy Travis stopped by from City Hall and he stayed for a minute…and of course he approved my permit:))) While Travis was still her Cherie my publicst stopped by for me to overlook some paperwork she had just completed. At 2:45 I had to run to the 2 different banks to make a deposit so Shontell held down the studio until I came back. Fred pulled up at the same time and he joined the group. Mel went to meet Xavier the guy who did my website so she can get hers up and running fast. Plus Xavier is going back to Paris on the 10th so she needed to hurry.

Everybody started heading out around 5-5:30pm cuz Iwas supposed to have a real client who was a no-show. So I returned a few calls and worked on a few wedding contracts. I have so much more paperwork left and 8 more calls to make but now I am really tired. It’s raining outside so I really don’t feel like doing anything. But, I have to pack up for my 8:30am bride on tomorrow. I just want to fall asleep right now. It’s 7:21 pm and I just feel like taking a nap.

The last 2 days I worked on location with Urban NYC and it’s been long hours. Yesterday on the shoot my son Jordan ended up being one of the kid model and MY BABY NAILED IT!!!! That was so funny how that happen.


So today was a very good day…I love my real peeps. We just laugh at each other all day cuz all of us are crazy in the head. Now that I am back for a little while I hope to be finished with the studio like next week or so. It’s a lot of work but I ain’t scared:))

GLAM life of a makeup artist…where are u?

This weekend was kinda busy but isn’t it always. I had my meeting with Xavier Cabo who is my new web designer. Just doing a last minute walk through before the site goes LIVE. I am so excited….FINALLY!!!I have met with so many people who claim they can design a site and all of them was a piece of shit. I hate when people say they have a business and don’t know the first thing about running one. Just coming up with a name and making cards don’t make you a business person. Anyway, I had to get someone from Europe cuz these lazy ass people here don’t want to work.

One of my favorite regular clients need me…Mrs Doris Hicks…this women is FIERCE. Love her so much. Very east coast personality she just says it and move on. Had a few more people for eyelash extensions.

I had to do my first assignment in Baton Rouge and the weather was not working with me this morning. The shoot was so damn early and bad rain, cold and fog does not mix well at least for me. As usual I was the first person there and then maybe 20 mins later the marketing company shows up and the client was about 1.5 hrs late. The owner of the marketing company was sick and was not in the mood and didn’t like the location and decided to cancel the assignment. I’m just sitting in the green room already unpacked makeup laid out all the curling irons, flat irons and etc all plugged in. I can hear him on the phone with the client who does not want to cancel the shoot so they go back in forth about it. I’m just sitting in the directors chair looking at all this shit I have to put back and then he comes in and said it’s back on. Now this client is someone that I worked with a few times and every time we worked together he flirts and carry on. Because he’s a big doctor here in Louisiana I don’t want to say his name not for him but more for his wife. Because I know how he is going to behave I am more prepared for it and the marketing company know so they have someone in the room with me the entire time. The first time we worked together he got really out of line but he has calmed down a lot now because I want take his offers.

So now I head back to New Orleans for my second assignment. My girl Mel event was on Saturday her dad is in the President of The DUKES organization and they were having there ball. I had Mel, her sister and her mom to do. Why just why Erin didn’t do this girl hair. I am so disappointed with her right about now. You can’t just not book somebody in don’t show up. This is why I don’t like helping people. They ask for the work they and when the work comes they run. I understand that everybody is not as passionate as I am about what they do but still be professional. So Mel at the last minute has to look for a hairstylist on such a big day like this. Wait until I find her. I’ve been trying to reach Erin while I was working in Mexico and she hasn’t called me back so I know Mel was telling me the truth.

After that Michael, Star and I go out to eat at Juan Burritos and get drinks cuz I needed it. I was so tired that I only had 2 frozen margarita’s…can you believe that?

Busy Schedule

This is my last thing for the night…I am exhausted and have come down with a cold. Being world wide makeup artist I guess I have to learn to take care of myself. Since I’ve been back from my last assignment I have been working nonstop…but I’m not complaining…shit, cuz it can get slow quickly. Let’s see I did this shoot with an ex Saints player who is now a photographer in New Orleans. He was shooting one of the 2008 Mardi Gras retail posters that will be sold all over Louisiana and other markets. So that was exciting just a little something that I don’t do often. Painting a mask on a model face honestly was challenging but I did what I do. That’s what I told the client since they flipped it on me from doing glam makeup to painting a mask. They asked after they changed do you think you could do the same look as a mask. I said, I’ma do what I do.

Carlton called me while I was on set about doing makeup for Offbeat Magazine the next day. He was shooting the cover so I went over to him for 1pm but come to find out I needed to be there for 2pm he forgot to call me to tell me they moved it back. So I basic set around and looked through the pics from Mexico. The editor and staff showed up about 1:30 and the model and her family came in about 2:15 so I had to hurry to do her makeup to make it across town for 3pm.

Received a lot of phone calls and had some emails to return when I got home. My web site is almost done worked on that for an hour sending the last of the revised info to Xavier who is still home in Europe. Because of the time difference it took us a minute to complete. Booked myself 4 weddings tonight…not to bad. Had a young lady asking about her Feb 09 wedding and I still need to respond to a bride who is getting married on Valentine Day next year.

I talked to Aaron last night about the photo shoot next month in Houston. He wanted to do something else with the title. It wasn’t popping enough and he’s right. It needed something extra so I told him to go with name for the shoot “BGD GLAM SUITE”. All girls likes that name so we knocked it out fast just a few phone calls back n forth, done. Plus Aaron knew that I wasn’t feelin well and wanted me to get some rest.

Let me tell you my schedule is busy again and I still have to get through Mardi Gras, All Star Weekend, BGD GLAM SUITE, and the L’Oreal Tour. And my goal is to drop 15 pounds by Feb 5th. Invites are already coming in for balls so I have to get the weight off fast.

So I am out for the night the thera-flu must be kickin in.
