Brandy Gomez-Duplessis of BGD Makeup Artistry Studio had the opportunity to provide her makeup and eyelash services (including her popular lip-sparklettes “Diamond & Pixie” from her cosmetic line “Queen B”) to the Kardashian girls and their mother.

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA May 22, 2008 – BGD Makeup Artistry’s Brandy Gomez-Duplessis is New Orleans’ own Makeup Artist to the stars. BGD has provided makeup services to several celebrities and just recently added the Kardashians to the list. BGD had the opportunity to use her own cosmetic line “Queen B” on the Kardashians family (Kris Jenner, Khloe, and Kim Kardashian).

The Kardashians were in town on Monday May 19, 2008 to promote the Style Network reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” Season 3 to more networks at The Cable Show ‘08 at the Morial Convention Center scheduled for May 18-20 2008 in The Big Easy.

Makeup Artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis said “Overall, I was honored to have worked with them. They were great girls, very soft spoken and very approachable and easy to work with. They made me feel comfortable and loved that I used the word baby when I spoke to them. They kept hugging me and Kris gave me a high five when I did her makeup and nailed it the first time. I really feel like an A-list makeup artist and when I said that to Kris she said “you know it”. It was a blessing to work with the most popular family on TV right now and be the makeup artist for Kim Kardashian, who is one of the most sexiest and popular person in the entertainment industry. I do feel like my career is moving forward and will continue to do so.

I gave Kris about 8 lip gloss from my Queen B makeup line.To have been able to use my products on them, I feel honored. For Kris Jenner to ask me for my card so she can come by my makeup studio to support my business and Kim Kardashian to ask me for my personal contact info so she can call me when she’s in town to do her makeup validates everything that my local clients have been telling me …and that is ,your talented with those brushes or you’re on a rise to becoming a Celebrity Makeup Artist. I am just glad that finally the beauty and fashion industry has stop looking at me as just a New Orleans Makeup Artist and now just a talented Makeup Artist.

It has been a long day and I still have one more early day left for this week. I got up this morning for 4:00am had to go by the studio to get extra lashes for Kim cuz she loves them. The guys from Jerk and Jon Couture met me at the studio so they could dress me with one of their tops they made for me. Plus, they had a gift bag for each of the girls including Kris Jenner. I picked up Jessica from her aunt’s home which is about 7 mins from the studio.

We were a few minutes early but Kris had already called the front desk to let them know she was expecting us. We headed up to her room to set up. The girls were still asleep and Kris was ordering breakfast and had just stepped out of the shower. She still had her towel wrapped around her when we came in. She was such a sweetheart, and we chatted for a few minutes then Jessica and I started setting up. Cara finally arrived who was helping us with hair and Nicole arrived about 15 mins later. Kris wanted me to do her makeup, she likes drag makeup like me and she assigned Jessica to her mother’s makeup. The girls finally started waking up. Khloe was tired cuz she told me she had a party to host the night before at the Playboy’s mansion. I really didn’t talk a lot to Kourtney cuz Jessica did her makeup. Kris wanted me to do Kim when she arrived. Kim stayed at her condo with Reggie so she was a little late. But I knew her makeup style so I was able to knock it out really fast. So everybody made it on time. The limo came for 9:30am so we said our goodbyes and we went to eat breakfast in the Quarters.

I’m not a breakfast person so I didn’t really care where the girls wanted to eat. They found some nasty place called Malone’s. I will never eat there again. I don’t do leftovers and just crushing ice don’t make that a frozen rita. I can’t believe I threw away $20 on that nasty shit. Plus customer service was horrible. I think it took a little over two hours for everything.

By now everyone is getting a little tired. We walk back to the where our makeup bags and Nicole car was at Iberville Suites. Jessica comes back with me to the studio cuz I still had clients schedule for later. Carlyn stops by 5 mins after we get there. She came to bring me a damask mirrored jewelry box. You all know how much I am into DAMASK prints. I love my friends…everybody is so good to me. She didn’t stay long she just wanted to bring my gift by.

We hangout and had some friends stop by to see us. Erica came by who was on the TV show Survivor with Jessica about 1 year ago I think. Jessica did her makeup so they could go have lunch. Leah stop by for a few minutes to say hi. Both Leah and Jessica lives in L.A. so they see each other often. I’m the only one that is still in the N.O. Leah wants me to come out to L.A. to do makeup for her grand opening event coming up soon. She is kicks. She thought I was asking her if she needed a date for the event but I was asking her when was the date for the opening. The funny thing is she was like,OK. I laughed so hard.She is so cute…but really her daughter is beautiful.

After everybody left I got some work done. I was trying to play catch up from being gone all last week and I was able to get to all of my clients. I think I stayed at the studio for a few hours more and then headed home cuz I know I have an early day in the morning.

GLAM LIFE OF A MAKEUP ARTIST

So I did the school thing with my son Jordan this morning as well as go to an early morning assignment for The Style Network. I had my baby girl Jessica Deben from L.A. come out to help me with makeup and Cara Rost assist with the hair. Kristin Holt was staying at the J.W. Marriott hotel on Canal Street. She is such a sweet girl and very pretty. She is now living in L.A. but she’s a southern girl from Dallas. We hit it off right away. She joked with me about my business cards. Like everybody kidds me about my Hollywood glam shot. So we took pics like I did in the picture and you’ll see she did it better than me. Now how is that possible????

So after we finished working Jessica and I went to my studio to hangout and unwind before hitting the streets. Jessica finally got to see the new place. She loved it but of course she would…like why wouldn’t she…

We headed over to Kano crazy ass and he changed up Kunflama…again. But I like it a lot it looks much larger. Not long after J. Renee stopped by whom I haven’t seeing what in 2 years. The first thing I tell her is “WHEN ARE U COMING TO PICK UP YOUR SHIT”. I have been hauling her 2 largest pieces since Katrina and every time she comes in town she said she will come get them and she never does. So I think I’ll just place them on my wall at my home. I know each piece is worth like a 2 grand.

Then we decide to go across the street cuz something was going on in the park (music, drinks, food)y’all know the typical NOLA shit. I see everybody…and then Jessica start buying drinks so you know that means it’s an all day thing. Mind you, I haven’t been home or in NOLA for 24 hours yet nor have I’ve eaten anything but a granola bar and now I’m drinking. We stay to hang out with Glen Jones, Lionel Milton, Regan, and some other folks. My hubby is texting me “When are you coming home”. Glen and I go back inside Kunflama by Kano who was busy with customers. So we hang out in the front of the store while Jessica is doing makeup on J. Renee who was getting ready for her date with some restaurant owner she met at Jazz Fest. I think I stayed out for a few more hours and then headed home cuz I had to be up for 5am to get ready for the second assignment with Style Network. I have the KARDASHIAN FAMILY who I love so much.

I’ve had enough to drink did enough catching up. BGD got a man at home that I need to go see.

GLAM LIFE OF A MAKEUP ARTIST

I am in bed trying to watch The Hills eating sunflower seeds and drinking a Corona beer. I am so tired that I haven't done anything but change my clothes turned on the tv and grabbed a beer. I am way to tired to fall asleep, you ever get like that.

The tour is going well. All of my favorite people are working. I am so glad that all of the dumb bullshit is not going on like last year. I just worry about my girl Roni cuz she been spotting and that's not good with her being 6 months along.

When I get back home my schedule is going to be crazy cuz I will be working with The Style network again. I have Kristin Holt on Sunday, The Kardashians on Monday and Thom Filicia on Tuesday. Two weddings next week plus 3 dates of L'Oreal gigs. So my schedule will keep me away from the studio and I still have to get Devin trained.

I am so overdue with calling Wendy and I need to just wake up about 5am to finish designing my Gambit ad and return emails and write up a few wedding contract.

So let me go get some sleep so I can get up in work.

I just went to Al Copeland grand opening party last month…so I was so hurt to hear that he passed on Easter. I had such a great time and the food was amazing…as usual.

Just wanted to say “I Will Miss You Copeland”

Ok you know my mission is to be an A-list
makeup artist. I don't know if you thought
I forgot all about it. Going to the special
invited L'Oreal event in Connecticut,
being called about the NBA All-Star 2009
and just last weekend being in Tampa, Florida
doing makeup with L'Oreal cosmetics and having
women love my work…let me stop lieing to
to you…havin women ask for my card and one girl
ask if I would come back in October for her
wedding. So, I know I must get movin more
than I am.

I have been on The Knot a wedding/bridal website
for about 4 years now and I was told
about the new issue that's out. I am going
to go buy one to see if I made the list as
one their top vendors in my market. But,
because I didn't get any calls from brides
saying they saw my name listed that's how
I have a feelin I ain't in it…
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM !!!

So, with that said I am about to push myself
like a crazy woman. If yall think yall can't
get in touch with my black ass now wait
to what's about to happen.

This boy is stupid… I am watching Mason Betha
this morning. When I can I try to catch him
in the morning. I love starting my day off
watching him. I have been able to listen
to his sermon and not see the rapper MASE.
I actually reaaly get his words and I do feel
like I got feed. It's like when I hear Pastor
Rowe from Upperroom Church in New Oroeans
East. He just said something real but it was
crazy how he deoivered it.

Of course I am home today but have a lot
to today. I am about to head out to the studio.
I have Mike the sign guy coming by. The same
one I used before. I email Xavier to see if
we could get together to do some update
on the site. I have tons of emails to brides
and I need to get in touch with my makeup
peopoe. I need to get some makeup in
to retail. once I get in touch with Mark Bloom
in LA about the new name for the makeup
and I get copyright to it I'll share it with
yall later.

I think the city inspector is suppose to
come by this week. One of my girls have
been helping me while I was gone. She
has been handling my paperwork cuz I had to
renew everything because of the new location.
Since I had to do the out of town dates
she offer to assist me with that since she
works at City Hall. How sweet was that.

Alright my babies I am out… gotta go
make myself an A-list makeup artist.

Glam Life Of A Makeup Artist

Yesterday I was coming in the house and
you all know how my babies are they
rush the door barking and jumping and
crying for me to pick them up. As always
my phone rangs as I am trying to get
through the doors and I can hear the phone
announce Heidi. So I am rushing to get to
my phone. but my sensitive ass phone
hung up. So I hurry to put them outside
so I could call my agent back. Normally,
if Heidi calls then that means work. I call
the office back and Sylvia answer and
placed me on hold because Keith wanted
to speak with me. So I knew it was about
to be something BIG. Cuz Keith is the
owner. Keith comes to the phone after
leaving me a message. So he comes to the
phone sounding all dry in business with no
emotion in his voice. So, I couldn't read his
tone. He goes “I just received a call from the
NBA and they want to book you for next
year All Star in Phoenix, AZ”. He gave me the
dates and said she confirmed me but has
to get back to me about my crew. They may
just use a crew out there and I will be in
charge of them. So, how cool is that???
2009 I will be The Official Makeup Artist for The NBA All-Stae Weekend 2009.
